Jason & Courtney #6  August 27th - November 5, 2003 - 8 hour original edit

At Jason's Penthouse, Courtney suggests that they take the day alone together to unwind from the stress of their recent escapades, but Jason insists that he has something to take care of and rushes away. Courtney goes next door to visit Carly and finds Carly admiring a baby basket that Sonny purchased for the new baby. Courtney tells Carly that Jason now knows the truth about the baby they lost and has been very supportive and understanding. Courtney asks if Carly believes that Jason has truly accepted the circumstances of the baby's death, but Carly insists that Jason and Courtney will be fine in the long run. Later, Carly finds Jason on the Docks and begs Jason not to shut down because of the recent tragedy. As Jason and Carly talk, Jason admits that he is truly mystified as to why Courtney did not tell Jason about the baby and Courtney overhears part of their conversation. Courtney leaves before Jason promises Carly that he is determined not to mess up his relationship with Courtney and Carly assures Jason that Courtney was not trying to run Jason's life for him in the same way that Robin tried to run Jason's life! Jason returns home and tells Courtney that he has decided to get married right away, Jason is stunned when Courtney sadly tells Jason that she just could not do that right now!

Sonny tells her that he will have Jason go for him to confront Alcazar. Carly asks him to leave Jason out of it also. Sonny asks her if she is Jason's "keeper" all of a sudden and wants to know why Jason can't go track down Alcazar. She yells at Sonny to leave Jason alone right now and that he has enough going on right now that he doesn't need to deal with Alcazar right now. Sonny demands to know what she is talking about. She blurts out that Courtney had a miscarriage and that Jason needs to be with her right now. Sonny asks her how long she has known about Courtney's pregnancy. Carly tells him she has known since she returned home. He resents the fact that she didn't tell him about Courtney when she is his sister and Jason is like a brother to him. Carly explains that it wasn't her call to tell Sonny or anyone. He assumes Courtney told her but Carly explains that Mike blurted it out to her when she told him that Courtney was kidnapped by Alcazar. Carly calms Sonny down and tells him to respect Courtney and Jason and let them handle this together.

Courtney tells Jason that she can't marry Jason right now because it isn't the right time for them considering what just happened to them. Jason doesn't understand her reluctance when she wanted them to get married as soon as Carly returned home safe. Courtney explains that she can't marry him when she feels that she is to blame for her miscarriage and the fact that they now can't have anymore children. Jason asks her why she is shutting him out. Courtney tells him she isn't shutting him out but that she needs time to get through this with him first. Sonny comes over and interrupts their talk. He apologizes to them for disturbing them and tells them that Carly told him about the miscarriage. He tells Jason that he is sorry for his loss as well as Courtney. He asks to speak to Jason alone. He shows him the backgammon game and explains that Alcazar sent it to Carly and he wants him to return it for him and tell him to stop sending his wife gifts or there is going to be another war. Jason tells Courtney that he has to go do something and will be back soon. Sonny offers to help her get through this rough time. He asks her what she needs from him. She explains why she didn't tell Jason about the pregnancy right away and blames herself for what has happened and feels that Jason is angry with her but won't show it. She asks Sonny if he would have forgiven Carly if she had done what she did to Jason. Sonny doesn't give her a straight answer and tells her that he isn't Jason and she isn't Carly. He advises her to give Jason time to deal with this. Courtney explains about what happened with her miscarriage and how the clinic doctors made a mistake with her treatment and that she can't have anymore children. Sonny gives her comfort. He goes back to his penthouse and tells Carly that Courtney isn't doing too well and wishes that if she had just told Jason the truth from the beginning, maybe none of this would have happened.

Jason goes to the docks and pushes the backgammon game against Alcazar's throat and threatens him to back off of Carly. Alcazar's goon pulls a gun on Jason and tells him to leave Alcazar alone. Jason pulls away and warns Alcazar to leave Carly alone or there will be another war that he won't win this time. Jason throws the game into the river and leaves. He returns home to find Courtney pacing the floor waiting for his return. Jason notices something is wrong and asks her how he can help. Courtney tells him that he is the one who is shutting her out and leaving the house with not so much as a word of goodbye when he does go out. Jason tells her he had work to do and told her he would be home. Courtney asks him to stop keeping his feelings bottled up and asks him to show her his anger and hurt at her "betrayal" for not telling him about the baby sooner. Jason tells her that it was an accident and that he doesn't blame her. Courtney asks him if he can forgive her but he tells her there is nothing to forgive. Courtney gets upset and tells him that he probably can't forgive her ever and storms out of the penthouse. Jason tries to stop her but she brushes him off and leaves.

Jason goes across the hall and tells Carly he needs to talk to Sonny alone. Carly tells him she will go across the hall to check on Courtney. Jason tells her that Courtney isn't home and ran off upset. He asks Sonny what he is supposed to do now. He tells him that he loves Courtney more than ever and that he just wants to move on from where they are regardless of whether than can have a child or not. Sonny tells him to give her some space and let her think things through. Courtney heads to the pier and watches as one of Alcazar's drug dealers sells drugs to a teenager. She goes to turn around and comes face to face with one of Alcazar's men, who grabs her and points a gun on her. The other drug dealer grabs her from the other direction. She fights them off and almost gets away until Alcazar's goon knocks her over the back of the head with his gun and she lays unconscious. Dillon witnesses what happened and goes to find Jason at his place and explains what happened. Jason gets Sonny and explains what happened. Alcazar checks on the success of the drug deal. His men inform him that a woman may have witnessed a drug deal go down. Alcazar tells them to kill her. The men tell him it would be a shame to kill her since she is quite the looker. Alcazar goes over and sees that it is Courtney. Alcazar shows up just as Jason and Sonny are heading out to find Courtney. He tells them that he has Courtney.

Jason asks Alcazar if he hurt her. Alcazar tells him that he didn't hurt Courtney but took her to the hospital instead and rescued her. At GH Courtney pulls up her hospital gown in the examining room and bruises are revealed on her back and neck. The doctor asks her if there is something she isn't telling him. She tells him that a while ago, she had a miscarriage. The doctor is concerned about her bruises. Carly, Jason, and Sonny show up to see about Courtney. The doctor who examined her asks them who they are. They introduce themselves as Courtney's brother, sister-in-law, and fiancee. The doctor explains that he isn't sure that he wants Courtney to go home with them and that her bruises indicate that there may be some domestic abuse. Jason asks him if he is accusing him of abusing Courtney. Carly steps in and tells him to talk to her mother, Bobbie Spencer, and Jason's parents, Alan and Monica Quartermaine and they will vouch for them being no harm to her. The doctor lets them go in to see her. Carly suggests to Jason that he let her go in and talk to Courtney first. Carly tries to comfort Courtney, who keeps blaming herself. The doctor prescribes some painkillers to her for her sore neck. Jason asks her how she is. Courtney shuts him out and goes home.

Jason brings Courtney home and he tries to reach out to her at home after his attempts to touch her make her push him away. Courtney asks him to vent his anger toward her and to stop being silent so much. She tells him that his silence is another way that he is lying to her about how he feels. Jason tells her that he has never lied to her and tells her he isn't angry with her. Emily tells him that she is to blame for everything and that he is angry with her but won't show it and she can't deal with it. Jason takes off instead of answering her. He goes to see Emily and learns she is marrying Zander. He asks her why she is marrying Zander when she told him she was in love with Nikolas. Emily explains that she is marrying Zander as a gift to him and that she will probably not be living long anyway and that Zander loves her and she loves him even if she isn't in love with him anymore. She asks Jason to name his first daughter he has with Courtney after her. Jason gets sad all of a sudden and she thinks he doesn't want her name as a first name and tells him he can use her name as a middle name for his child someday. Jason explains to her that Courtney had a miscarriage and something went wrong and she can't have any more children. Emily feels bad and tells him that life is too short and that he needs to not let Courtney shut him out and that she pushed people away as well out of love and that Courtney probably feels guilty and that she isn't good enough for him now. She tells Jason to reach out to Courtney and tell her he loves her and not to let her go. Courtney takes one of her pain pills after thinking about her argument with Jason. Jason returns home. Courtney comes downstairs in her robe and tells him she just had a bath and used the bath salts Carly gave her and that it helped to make her neck and shoulder feel better. Jason apologizes for just taking off like that. He reaches out to her and tells her that he loves her and that he is just as much to blame as her. She interrrupts him and tells him he isn't at fault but lets him comfort her. Jason tells her they will get through this and they kiss.

Jason picks Courtney up and brings her upstairs to their room to make love. Later, Courtney tells Jason how sorry she is and that the anger is sometimes easier to deal with than the grief. He tells her that he knows how much harder it is for her to deal with the loss of their baby and asks how he can help her. She blames herself for not telling him sooner. Jason's phone rings and he receives news on Emily that she has taken a turn for the worse. Jason arrives at GH. Emily tells Jason how lucky she is for having a brother like him. She thanks him for always telling her the truth, even if she didn't want to hear it. He tells her that he is a better person because of Emily. She asks if Courtney makes him happy and he says yes. She tells him that this is it, she is at the rest of her life and she promised it to Zander, but she could only think of Nikolas. She asks if this makes her an awful person and Jason tells her that we can't help who we love. She tells Jason that she is scared for Nikolas because he is in a lot of trouble. She tells him that there are people who want to kill him and she asks Jason to help him. Jason tells her that he will handle it, he promises her that he will find out and that Nikolas will stay alive. Jason tells her to get some rest, but she tells him that she is afraid to close her eyes, because she might never wake up. She tells him that she is not afraid anymore. They tell each other they love one another. Zander comes into the room and Jason kisses her on the forehead and leaves. Carly asks Courtney why is she not with Jason supporting him through Emily's illness. Courtney tells her that she did offer, but Jason told her that there was nothing she could do. Carly convinces Courtney to just be there at his side.

In the chapel, Jason prays for Emily. He asks for Emily's fear to be taken away. He can't imagine this world without Emily. He asks for help for it to be okay for Emily to go. Liz puts her hand on his shoulder. Liz sits next to Jason and tells him how beautiful and heartbreaking the wedding was. Liz tells Jason that she can't imagine life without Emily. Jason puts a comforting arm around Liz as she lays her head on his shoulder. Courtney sees from outside of the window. When Jason returns home, he runs into Carly in the hallway. After Carly assures Jason of her sympathy and support, Jason finds Courtney resting on the couch when he enters the Penthouse. Jason confides to Courtney that Emily is not expected to live through the day. As Jason shares some of his fond memories about Emily with Courtney, Jason receives a call announcing that Emily seems to be recovering and Jason dashes out to see Emily. After Jason leaves, Courtney takes a handful of painkillers. When Carly arrives, Courtney admits that she saw Elizabeth and Jason in the chapel with their arms around each other when Courtney went over to the Hospital to find Jason the previous evening. As Courtney confides how angry it made her to see Jason with his arm around Elizabeth, Carly insists that Jason and Elizabeth are both close to Emily. Carly warns Courtney not to let her imagination run away with her where Jason and Elizabeth are concerned! Courtney confides to Carly that she is afraid that Jason will turn to Elizabeth for comfort because Elizabeth would be able eventually to provide Jason with his own child! Carly urges Courtney to quit worrying about the situation and, instead, go to Jason, admit that Courtney is upset about seeing Jason with his arms around Elizabeth in the chapel, and remind Jason that Courtney wants Jason to feel that he can turn to Courtney whenever Jason is hurting. Although Carly warns Courtney that she should not be taking the pain killers along with gallons of coffee, Courtney has some more coffee and pain killers as soon as Carly leaves.

Em tells Jason about dreaming of Nik kissing her, that he brought her back. Emily again asks Jason to keep Nikolas from ever learning that Emily saw Nikolas in her dream and to keep Nikolas safe. Emily explains that Stefan borrowed heavily and Stefan's creditors have threatened to kill Nikolas if they did not get their money back! Jason assures his sister that he will take care of Stefan's threatening creditors. Jason asks Emily what she will do once Jason gets the threatening creditors to leave Nik alone, since he would then be free to annul his marriage to Lydia. Emily insists she would still be married to Zander! Emily and Jason are surprised when A.J. arrives to see Emily. Emily insists that Jason and A.J. at least speak to each other and her brothers oblige Emily by exchanging a few civil words with each other.

As Courtney sits alone in Jason's Penthouse, still taking large doses of painkillers and washing them down with coffee, Courtney is more than a little miffed when Elizabeth suddenly arrives, announcing that she needs to tell Jason about Emily's miraculous recovery. Courtney blasts Elizabeth for trying to move in on Jason while Jason is upset by news about his sister's uncertain future. Courtney coldly reminds Elizabeth that there were many other ways to give Jason the good news about Emily's recovery without showing up, unannounced, on Jason's doorstep! Courtney angrily reminds Elizabeth that Ric was just as sick and twisted as Courtney had warned Elizabeth, Jason suddenly arrives home and demands to know what is going on! Courtney's erratic behavior toward Elizabeth concerns Jason. Elizabeth tells Jason, who just walked in that she just came over to tell him the good news about how Emily woke up and is getting a little better. Jason thanks her but tells her that he saw Emily and knows already. Courtney asks her to leave and accuses her of coming over to be near Jason. Elizabeth leaves. Jason asks her what is wrong with her. Courtney blows up at Jason and accuses him of wanting to be with Elizabeth because she could give him a baby if he wants one. Jason tells her he doesn't want a baby with anyone else. Courtney gets more upset and irrational and tells him to go be with Elizabeth if he wants to and asks him to leave. She also accuses him of not talking to her about how he feels and admits she saw him with Elizabeth at the chapel and that they looked cozy. Jason tries to explain that it looked like Emily was going to die and they were just comforting each other about her. Jason leaves when Courtney asks him to. He calls Sonny on his cell-phone and asks him to come home so he can talk to him about something important. Courtney finds Carly and Michael at the carnival and looks upset. Michael asks her if she is crying. She tells him she is fine and puts on a brave face. Michael goes over to play some more games and Carly asks her what happened. Courtney tells her that she blew up at Jason for no good reason and that she is so afraid that Jason will go back to Elizabeth, who she thinks is interested in him again. She explains to her what she accused Jason of. Carly tries to reassure her that Jason loves her and only her. Courtney tells her that she feels empty now that she can't have a baby. Carly asks her if Dr. Meadows actually said she couldn't have any more children. Courtney tells her she isn't sure because she was so upset when they talked last. Carly suggests that she go see Dr. Meadows and find out if she has any options. Carly offers to go with her but Courtney tells her she can go by herself.

Courtney manages to talk a few minutes with Dr. Meadows between patients. Dr. Meadows tells her that there was some internal damage and that surgery is a possibility but no guarantee that it will work for her. Courtney tells her she wants to have surgery as soon as possible. Dr. Meadows suggests that she go to therapy first and talk to Jason before coming to such a decision. Courtney talks to the doctor who prescribed the Hydrocodone to her in the ER She lies to him and tells him that she threw out the painkillers by mistake and needs more since her shoulder and neck still hurt badly. The doctor refuses to prescribe more pills and suggests she try some over the counter painkillers instead. Alcazar happens to be following her and overhears her talking to the doctor. Alcazar sneaks a peek at her chart and finds out what kind of drug she was prescribed before and calls one of his dealers and asks him to find some Hydrocodone for him immediately.

Jason tells Sonny about his argument with Courtney and asks for advice. Sonny figures out what Courtney is thinking and tells him that he has had more experience with women than he has and tells him to tell her how he feels and that he isn't going anywhere. Jason goes to do some work for Sonny to keep his mind off things for a while. Ric shows up at the penthouse to suggest a plan to work together to get Alcazar. He asks Sonny if he is willing to put their differences aside to let him help him as a peace offering. Sonny doesn't trust him and slams the door in his face. Elizabeth shows up at the park at Carly's request. Carly asks her to stay away from Jason and that he loves Courtney and is happy with her. Elizabeth disagrees about that and tells her that Jason isn't married and she can spend time with him if she wants to. Carly warns her to back off. Ric happens to be there and overhears the conversation.

Jason finds some files and takes pictures of them to look at later. He takes them back to Sonny and shows him the pictures of the files. They realize that Alcazar is most likely the creditor who is after Stefan for the money he owes and that his holding company is probably the front for what he is up to. Jason tells Sonny about Nikolas being in danger according to Emily and that Stefan probably doesn't know that Alcazar is the person behind the holding company he owes a huge debt to. They decide to use what they know against Alcazar and protect Nikolas as much as they can.

Sonny visits Courtney at her place. He tries to help her through and tries to make her see Jason's side of things before she pushes him away more. He tells her that he hated the world and wanted to destroy everyone around him so he would be left alone and prove he wasn't worthy of anyone's love. Courtney doesn't appreciate his interference but listens to him. She doesn't think their cases are anything alike and asks him to leave her alone. Courtney's neck starts to hurt. There is a knock on the door and she answers it. It is a young guy who hands her a bag with a prescription for Hydrocodone and tells her that her doctor must have sent it. After he leaves she checks the bottle and takes a pill. Ric finds Jason sitting on a park bench and accuses him of meeting Elizabeth there and accuses him of wanting Elizabeth back. Jason tells him that Elizabeth isn't his wife anymore and that he is alone. Courtney shows up at the park. She runs into Ric, who is sitting on a park bench. She tells him to leave her alone. Ric tells her that she should be worried about not seeing Jason around since he wants Elizabeth back and fills her head up with what everything means. Courtney gets upset and tells him off. She reaches into her bag and pops another painkiller. She goes to leave and drops her purse all over the ground. As she is picking up her purse she looks up to find Alcazar standing there. Alcazar tells her she is to blame for her miscarriage since she risked her life in the water like that. He tells her she brought her own pain onto herself. Carly waits around for Sonny to show up for her first ultrasound. He gets there late and sees the baby on the ultrasound. They are amazed at how much better ultrasounds are now with new high-tech equipment. Sonny is less than enthusiastic but hides it from Carly. He runs into Jason at GH Sonny tells him that he talked to Courtney. Jason doesn't know how to respond to her. Sonny confides in Jason about how he is afraid that this baby won't be born at all and if it isn't, Carly will be devastated. He tells him he had a bad feeling when he saw the baby on the monitor. Jason runs into Elizabeth on the docks and sits with her to talk about Emily's condition. Ric spies on them talking. Elizabeth apologizes to Jason for not listening to him when he warned her about Ric. She tells him that she is moving on with her life and divorcing Ric. She and Jason call a truce. An upset Courtney gets behind the wheel of her car, Ric gets behind the wheel of his car, as does Faith. Elizabeth is crossing the street when a car comes barreling down the street and hits her. Faith looks at Liz, smiles and says how glad she is that Ric is free now and walks away, leaving Liz lying on the ground. The paramedics take Liz to the hospital.

Courtney cries in the dark, while holding a baby blanket. She whispers, "I'm so sorry baby." Jason tells Sonny that the baby is fine and that nothing will happen to him. He is afraid for the baby, now that he sees how real it is. He tells Jason that since he lost his first baby to a car bomb and his second to AJ pushing her down the stairs, he is afraid. Jason tells him that even though Sonny may think that he doesn't deserve a child, maybe God thinks that Carly does. Sonny asks Jason to take Carly home, because there is something that he needs to take care of. Jason comes home and finds Courtney asleep on the couch. He tells her that he is not leaving her and that he hates feeling like he can't help her. He asks where she got the baby blanket. She tells him that it was Carly's welcome home gift. She tells him how she feels that she is trapped with feeling with anger and grief and that maybe she should give away the blanket. Jason tells her that she should keep it, because she obviously kept it for a reason. She says that maybe it is because it is the only proof she has that the baby existed. Jason tells her that he loves her and that he isn't going anywhere. She tells him that this isn't about him and it is all about her craziness inside her. He remembers the time when they were trapped in the snow and how they planned to go to the beach and he asks Courtney to go away with him. They arrive on the island.

Courtney and Jason arrive on the island. They drop their bags, and walk out the terrace to enjoy the island breezes. They head off for a swim. Courtney reaches for her pain pills, afraid of going in the water, suddenly relieving her dive into the ocean when she lost the baby. Jason regrets coming to the island and offers to take her somewhere else. She assures him she wants to stay there. She promises to stop hiding things from him. Jason admits he can't completely understand what it felt like for her to to lose a baby, and that because of his brain injury he can't imagine what the baby would have looked like, that he feels like he is failing her. She in turn reassures him, points out that when she shut him out and pushed him away that he kept coming back.

She tells him he is better off for not being able to picture their future baby as it is easier for him to move on. She tells him about the emptiness she feels, that is always with her, that she has always taken care of someone. She goes on to explain that ultimately she is afraid of losing him, not that she doesn't believe in him but she is afraid she will ruin their life together, that when she lost the baby that she hadn't told him about, she was sure she had ruined their relationship. Jason assures her that if she can't trust in anything else she can trust that he loves her. They begin kissing, and he gently lowers her down onto the futon sofa. Later, Courtney wakes up and stares down at the sleeping Jason with a thoughtful look. She curls back into his arms.

Jason and Courtney return from a swim. Although Courtney reports that her shoulder is not really bothering her, Courtney takes a chance to grab some more of her painkillers when Jason goes to answer a phone call. When Jason returns and suggests that they turn this interlude into a long vacation, Courtney admits that she has been taking a lot of painkillers and is worried that she may have become hooked on the drugs. Courtney tosses her painkillers out, with Jason's help. Later, Jason arranges for Courtney to get a massage for her aching shoulders. When a handsome hunk shows up to give the massage to Courtney, Jason changes places with "Brett" and takes charge of the massage himself. Courtney soon tumbles that Jason is the one giving her the massage and gives Jason instructions on how to give her a massage!

Jason and Courtney show up at Carly's club all rested from their trip and happy together. Carly is very pleased until Courtney informs them that they came home to find that Courtney's car was stolen. Carly tells them that Elizabeth was hit by a car and that it was a hit-and-run accident. Courtney tells Carly and Sonny about how she got dependent on some painkillers and that is why she was acting so irrational lately. Carly starts to wonder about Courtney. Jason and Courtney head off to see Elizabeth at GH Jason goes into Elizabeth's room to talk to her. He sees her snap at the physical therapist and suggests she let her help her even if the blindness is temporary. Elizabeth thanks him for coming and talking with her. Courtney watches them talk from the doorway. Later that night, Courtney has a dream that she is driving and that her pills fell on the floor of the car and that she went to reach for them and hit someone, that someone being herself. Courtney wakes up from the dream. Jason asks her what is wrong. Courtney wonders if she may have been the one who hit Elizabeth with her car and not known it because she was so high on the pills she was taking. Carly meets with Alcazar. He shows her pictures of Courtney's car, and tells her that Courtney hit Elizabeth while high on pills. He tells her he stole Courtney's car to protect her for Carly's sake. He says that he doubts Courtney is even aware she hit Courtney. Carly agrees to keep what she knows a secret if he agrees to keep this thing about Courtney a secret. He gives her the keys to Courtney's car and the directions on where to find the car he hid for her. Carly finds the car way out in country and goes to find it and get rid of it. Carly puts Courtney's car in gear and gets out to let the car roll off the embankment. However, her coat sleeve gets caught in the driver's side door and she can't get it loose as the car starts to roll closer to the embankment with her attached to the door. She starts to cry out in panic and try to get her jacket free. She manages to pull her coat from the car door and lands near the edge of the cliff. She tries to pull herself up and begins to slip, but a nearby Alcazar grabs her arms and pulls her up to safety.

Jason comforts Courtney about the nightmare she had about driving a car that hits herself. She wonders if it will trigger a memory, Jason tells her that it was a just a dream and it doesn't mean anything. She argues and wishes she knew where her car is so that she knows for sure. She continues to recall her dream and Jason tells her that it doesn't mean that she had anything to do with Liz's accident. She tells him that just before she drove home from the park that night, she took a lot of pills. She says that she saw Alcazar at the park and mentioned losing the baby; she was so upset that by the time she got back to the car, she was so upset that she couldn't even see straight. She tells Jason that it is possible that she could have hit Liz and just kept on driving. He tells her to retrace her steps. She recalls her steps and remembers coming home. Sonny comes in and tells Jason that Carly is missing.

Courtney goes to Liz to apologize for her actions the day she was hit. Liz remembers the color of the car and wants to report it to the police, she asks Courtney to hand her the phone and she tells Liz that maybe she should wait. Liz wonders why and Ric overhears. Courtney tells her that she should be sure before she calls the police. As Courtney leaves, she tells Liz that Jason really cares for her and that if Jason can help, she wouldn't want to stand in the way. Outside of the hospital room, Ric approaches Courtney and begins to question her about what she is doing there. Ric asks her where Courtney was the night that she was hit.

Suddenly, Jason and Sonny bursts through the door and demand to know what he did to Carly. He asks if he has hurt her and he tells him that he would never hurt her. They leave and Carly tells Alcazar that this is all just a game to him and that he is not the same man who helped her through premature labor. Ric confronts Courtney about Liz's accident and her whereabouts on the night of the accident as Jason listens. Suddenly, Jason attacks Ric and tells him that if he has a problem with Courtney, he needs to talk to Jason. He pins Ric against the wall and tells him that Courtney was with Jason the night of Liz's accident and he needs to end this talk about Courtney hitting Liz. Jason releases Ric and Ric leaves. Courtney tells Jason that Liz remembered that the car that hit her is the same color as hers. She asks him if he is covering something up and he tells her that he isn't, but he will find out.

Sonny asks Carly what she knows about the car and tells her that he hates it when she lies to him. He asks her where she went after she left the club. She tells him that she went to see Alcazar. She tells Sonny that Courtney was the one who hit Liz and Alcazar sent him a picture of her car and that was the only reason that she went to meet him. She tells him that she went to a cliff to dispose of Courtney's car, but she slipped and fell on the loose dirt and Alcazar was there to help pull her up. She went to Alcazar's apartment to get cleaned up and she hid when he and Jason arrived, not to protect Alcazar, but to protect Courtney. She has been through enough and if she found out that it was her who hit Liz, she would have been devastated. Sonny tells her that Carly's solution instead was to cover it up, keep a secret with the man who kidnapped her, and risked her and the baby's life. Carly tells him that she didn't want him to tell Jason because they have been through enough and she would just end up blaming herself. Jason comes in and tells that he needs to speak to Sonny and it is about Courtney. He tells Jason that Alcazar claims that he saw Courtney hit Liz. Carly thinks that Courtney does not need to know about hitting Liz because she has been through enough.

Courtney goes to Alcazar's apartment to find out the truth. He recalls the evening back to her and apologizes to her for any pain he may have caused her. He tells her that he will be there for her if she ever needed anything. Later on down at the docks, Courtney tells Jason that she went to Alcazar to find out about the night of the accident and that he told her that when she drove away from the park, she headed east. Jason tells her that he told Carly something different. He tells her about the car and that Alcazar claims to have seen Courtney hit Liz but kept on driving.

Ric rushes to Scott's office and informs Scott that Ric believes that it was Courtney who ran Elizabeth down. Ric explains that Courtney paid a surprise visit to Elizabeth, although Courtney and Elizabeth have never been friendly and that Courtney talked Elizabeth out of reporting recovered memories of the accident to the police. Ric informs Scott that he had encountered Courtney in the park before Elizabeth's accident and had also seen an encounter between Elizabeth and Carly, during which Carly ordered Elizabeth to stay away from Jason and Elizabeth had retorted that she would see Jason whenever and wherever she wanted. Ric reports to Scott that, when Ric saw Courtney, Courtney was very erratic and very upset by the prospect of Elizabeth and Jason renewing their old relationship. Mac arrives with news that the car discovered in the lake belonged to Sonny's sister, Courtney!

At Sonny's Penthouse, Sonny, Jason, Carly and Courtney confer about the way the police discovered Courtney's car in the lake. Sonny argues that Alcazar might have just heard about Elizabeth's accident, stole Courtney's car, smashed the headlight and then tried to convince Carly that Courtney was the one who hit Elizabeth. But Courtney remains convinced that she did run Elizabeth down and that Sonny, Jason and Carly are all attempting to spare her by keeping the truth from her. Jason tries to convince Sonny to let Jason take Courtney out of the country and Sonny confides to Jason that Sonny believes that Alcazar probably did see Courtney run down Elizabeth and is trying to use the accident to his own advantage. Sonny promises Jason that, even if Courtney did hit Elizabeth, they can still make the charges go away, if they can convince Courtney to keep her mouth shut! As Jason and Sonny talk, Scott and Mac show up at Sonny's door, announcing that they are there to arrest Courtney. Jason and Courtney have disappeared by the time Scott and Mac are allowed into Sonny's apartment. They hide out in one of Sonny's safe-houses. When Courtney continues to be haunted by the possibility that she did hit Elizabeth, Jason suggests that Alcazar stole Courtney's car and paid someone to deliberately hit Elizabeth and then used the "coincidences" to insinuate himself into Carly's good graces which is what Lorenzo's primary objective appears to be. Jason promises that he will find out what did happen, so that Courtney can quit torturing herself. Jason urges Courtney to head for the island to be safe. Jason promises Courtney that, even if she did hit Elizabeth, Jason will take care of it! Jason leaves the safe-house long enough to make arrangements for Courtney to fly to the island. When Jason returns, he discovers that Courtney has gone! Office Andy Capelli shows Scott the forensics report on Courtney's car just as Courtney marches into Scott's office and announces that she believes that she was the one who ran Elizabeth Webber down with her car!

Jason goes to police headquarters after Courtney leaves the safe house. He finds out from Mac that Courtney has been interrogated all night by Scott and that she is still being questioned. Jason can't believe Scott questioned her all night. Mac reminds him that Courtney confessed to hitting Elizabeth with her car. Jason demands to see her and that she should have a lawyer present from now on. Scott makes Courtney tell her story over again from the beginning. He has a field day when Jason shows up concerned for her. He gloats that Courtney is going to go down for this and that there is nothing Jason can do to help her. Jason gets time alone with her. She apologizes for taking off like that but she feels responsible for what happened to Elizabeth even if she can't remember every detail of the accident.

Sonny and Carly show up at the police station. They try to push their weight around with threats to Scott and the police. Courtney is put in a holding cell as Sonny tries to find out from Jason what is going on. Alcazar shows up and tells Mac that he saw the accident and that the driver was not Courtney and that the person who hit Elizabeth was a man with long blonde hair who is willing to admit he hit Elizabeth and ran away with the car because he had stolen it from Courtney and didn't want to get caught with it. Mac is weary of Alcazar's story but agrees to check it out and see if the man outside's story checks out. The police forensic report proves that Courtney's car was the vehicle that hit Elizabeth because the DNA on the headlight matches Elizabeth's. Mac returns and has Courtney released and the charges dropped.

Carly has an appointment with Dr. Meadows and looks like something is bothering her. Sonny is set to go with her to the appointment but he gets a call. He tells her he has to go take care of something and he will meet her at the hospital after Courtney offers take Carly herself. After Jason and Sonny leave, Carly's behavior worries Courtney who asks her what is wrong. Carly tells her that she can't feel the baby kicking and is worried something is wrong. Courtney brings her to her appointment. Dr. Meadows runs some tests. Carly goes on about how worried she is about the baby and realizes that Courtney is still in the room listening to her complain. She apologizes to her for being insensitive to what Courtney has gone through. Courtney tells her she wished she had worried more about her own baby like Carly's and maybe her baby would be alive still. Carly tells her that Dr. Meadows never said she couldn't have a baby but that it would probably be very difficult for her. She asks Courtney to be the baby's godmother.

Sonny and Jason show up at the cemetery where the grave of Lily's is. The place where her casket was buried is all dug up and her casket is missing. They call Mac for help. Mac assures them he will get to the bottom of this and is as disturbed by this as Sonny and Jason. Sonny goes to GH to see Carly. He gets worried when Carly tells him that Dr. Meadows is running some tests. Dr. Meadows comes back and tells them that Carly is suffering from dehydration and that is causing the muscles to be sore and that the baby is having a harder time kicking her as strongly because it is getting a little crowded in her uterus now that she is in her last trimester. She tells her she wants Carly to be admitted for observation and advises her to take it easy and to not overwork herself. Sonny wants to stay with her but Carly asks him to go home and stay with Michael because he will worry if he isn't there at least. Sonny reluctantly agrees to go home and let her rest. Dr. Meadows assures him that they will take good care of Carly for him. Sonny gets a call and his cell phone says it is a call from home. However, when he picks it up there is no voice on the other end. Sonny assumes it is Michael calling him and he asks him to answer him but no one answers. A mysterious woman had entered Sonny's penthouse in a dress and her clothes and body all dirty from dirt while a thunderstorm is going on. She picks up a picture of Sonny with Carly and Michael. Later, Sonny returns home with no sign of anyone home. He hears a noise and goes to investigate. He notices a message written in the glass of the sliding glass door going out to the balcony. It says "I Miss You." Sonny opens the sliding glass doors and looks out onto the balcony. He is shocked to see a woman who looks identical to Lily, his late wife staring back at him on the balcony.

Alcazar enters Carly's room and checks in on her while she sleeps. He touches her hair and her cheek and leaves the room. He runs into Jason coming around the corner. Jason asks him what he is doing in Carly's room and that when Sonny hears about it he won't be happy. He warns him not to push Sonny anymore than he has been or he will regret it. Jason warns Lorenzo that although Carly and Sonny may be grateful for what he did for Courtney, he needs to watch himself because Jason will go after him and Lorenzo will wish that he never heard of PC. Lorenzo tells Jason that he will stay for as long as it takes to get what he wants. Jason enters Nik's hospital room. He tells Jason that he just ended his marriage to Lydia. Nikolas tells him that Lydia looked like she was hurt, but at least Nikolas is one step closer to being with Emily, if she still wants him.

Sonny looks out the window through the words I Miss You written on. He sees a woman resembling Lily and walks outside to see, only to find that she has disappeared. Courtney enters the penthouse and tells him that he looks like he has just seen a ghost. He tells her that he thought he saw a woman on the terrace and he thinks that he is just being paranoid. He calls for Max to tell him that someone was outside and he thinks he knows who it is. Max brings Faith in to Sonny and tells her that he knows it was her who violated Lily's grave. She tells him that she doesn't know what he is talking about. Sonny becomes angry with her and Jason and Courtney interrupt telling Faith to leave. Jason asks Sonny what's going on and Sonny wishes that he could tell Jason. After Jason inspects the terrace, he tells Sonny that this may be all on his head. Sonny tells Jason that these are all signs, omens that something is going to happen to his baby. He asks Jason that he cannot tell Carly. Sonny leaves and asks Jason not to follow him.

Jason and Courtney go to the hospital to find Carly's room empty. In Nik's room, Detective Capelli aims the gun at a sleeping Nikolas but Carly enters and turns the light on, waking Nik and they both ask what Capelli is doing there. He tells Nikolas that he was there to check on his security and that he will be placing guards outside of his door. Capelli leaves and Carly asks what happened to him. He tells her that he was attacked and asks her what she is doing there. Carly tells him that she was bored and decided to take a walk. She asks him if he thinks that he was beaten up on Lorenzo's orders, but before he could answer, Jason comes in and asks her what she is doing leaving her room. She tells them both that when she was in Lorenzo's apartment, she saw a document with Nikolas' name and she thought that maybe it had something to do with his attack. Jason tells her that it is none of her business and that she should not be involved. He tells Carly to leave and Jason asks Nikolas if Lorenzo has seen the pictures of him and Emily together. Nikolas tells him that the pictures will not be a problem, but Jason thinks they may be a problem to Emily. He tells Nikolas that he is protecting him because Emily asked, but he will not do it at Emily's expense. Nikolas tells him that the pictures were sent to Lydia. Jason tells him that she should have brought the pictures directly to him as soon as she received them. He tells Nikolas that anything in regards to the situation needs to be brought to his immediate attention. Nikolas tells him that he loves Emily and intends to marry her as soon as Lorenzo is out of the picture. With this motivation, he does not plan to make any mistakes.

Sonny goes back to the hospital to find Carly's bed empty and questions Courtney. He begins to panic, Carly walks in and he asks her where she has been. Sonny begins to lecture Carly about keeping the baby. He leaves and Carly asks Courtney what that was all about. She tells her that Sonny thinks he is going to lose Carly and the baby. She thinks that Sonny may feel as if he has more happiness than what he deserves and that everything he loves he loses. He is just fearful that he may lose the baby. Sonny tells Jason that he wants more guards near Carly. He tells Sonny that he is over-reacting. Sonny tells Jason that he is seeing things, like Carly's name on Lily's headstone.

Jason arrives at the Hospital to visit Elizabeth after Elizabeth invited him to stop by. Elizabeth reports that the police will be there soon to take Elizabeth's statement about the hit and run and Elizabeth asks Jason why Courtney confessed to hitting Elizabeth if Courtney did not really run Elizabeth down. Elizabeth also asks why an unknown person would later confess to the same incident. Ric arrives at that moment and suggests that Alcazar paid someone to confess to running Elizabeth down to get Courtney off the hook so that Sonny would be obligated to Lorenzo. Ric warns Elizabeth that Jason is just taking advantage of Elizabeth's trust to help Courtney escape prosecution for running Elizabeth down. Elizabeth refuses to listen to Ric and Jason denies all of Ric's suppositions. Jason tells Elizabeth that he was sorry that Elizabeth was hurt but Jason pointedly does not deny that Courtney was driving the car that struck Elizabeth. As Ric and Jason argue, Elizabeth asks Jason to leave.

Nikolas meets with Jason to plot a way to get Alcazar to pull a gun on Nikolas. Jason suggests that Nikolas offer to make a partial payment to Alcazar on the Cassadine debt, but arrange for Alcazar to personally collect the payment at Wyndemere. Jason tells Nikolas that when Lorenzo pulls his gun to kill Nikolas, Jason will appear from hiding and kill Alcazar. Then Jason will be able to claim self-defense and once Alcazar is dead, Lorenzo will not be around to contradict their story! Later, as Lorenzo and Nikolas meet in the study at Wyndemere, Jason waits in hiding and keeps his gun trained on Alcazar. When Lorenzo picks up the briefcase full of cash, Alcazar tells Nikolas that they will not be doing business like this again and reaches inside his jacket pocket. Jason watches from the corner of the hallway as Nikolas meets with Alcazar at Wyndemere. Nikolas gives him $100,000 and tries to make a deal with him to pay him back in more installments. Alcazar puts his hand inside his jacket pocket and Jason gets his gun ready to shoot Alcazar if he tries to kill Nikolas. Alcazar takes a slip of paper from his pocket and hands it to Nikolas. Alcazar takes one of the figurines belonging to the Cassadines as collateral. He leaves. Jason asks him why he blocked his view from shooting Alcazar. Nikolas tells him that he realized that Alcazar wasn't going to shoot him and he didn't want Jason to shoot him by accident. Jason finds it suspicious that Alcazar didn't kill him and they realize that Emily may be vulnerable at this moment. Nikolas tells him that Zander is with her right now. Jason asks him if he is sure of this and Nikolas suggests checking on them at the cottage. At the same time, as Emily walks past the docks on her way home with groceries for Kristina, Emily is grabbed by an unknown assailant! It's Detective Capelli, working for Alcazar, grabs Emily from behind and covers her mouth to keep her from screaming. He warns her that if Nikolas doesn't pay Alcazar back soon, they will come after her next time.

When Nik and Jason arrive at the cottage, they find Zander alone with the baby and no sign of Emily. Jason tells him that he shouldn't have left Emily alone for a second and that she is in danger. Zander isn't too happy about Nikolas' problems putting her in danger. Nikolas explains about his creditors and that Alcazar is behind the debt. Jason calls one of Sonny's men to find Emily as Nikolas makes his own phone call. Emily walks in the door, quite shaken up. Jason sighs in relief when he sees she isn't harmed. Emily realizes something is wrong if Nikolas and Jason are there. They explain what is going on. She tells them about being grabbed on the docks and that she couldn't see the person who grabbed her because he threatened to harm her if she turned around and looked at him. Jason decides to put some guards on her outside her house to protect her. Nikolas agrees to not stick around and come by anymore if it means he is putting her in danger. Jason asks to speak to Emily alone outside. She comes outside with him while Zander grills Nikolas on what kind of danger he got her into again. Jason asks her what is going on with her marriage to Zander and why she is staying married to him. She explains that she couldn't live with her self and like herself if she broke her vows with Zander and broke off with him to be with Nikolas. Emily suggest to Nikolas that he try to make a baby with Lydia and get the inheritance to pay back Alcazar. Nikolas tells her he can't do that anymore. Nikolas asks Jason if he can borrow the money from him. Jason agrees to let him borrow the money since he has a vested interest in bringing down Alcazar himself. Jason and Nikolas leave the cottage.

Courtney catches Faith outside Carly's room and thinks she is up to no good. Faith lies and tells her she is here for an appointment with Dr. Meadows and had no idea that Carly's room was right there. Courtney tells Faith to stay away from Carly. She comes into Carly's room and has her release papers to sign to get out of there. Sonny notices that Courtney seems nervous and anxious for Carly to leave the hospital. Courtney explains that she saw Faith outside Carly's room just now and is worried she is up to something. Sonny doesn't like it and agrees that Carly needs to be home where she can be protected better. Jason shows up and finds Courtney there. She asks him to drive her home. He asks her why she doesn't drive home herself instead of waiting for him. She tells him she isn't ready to get behind the wheel of a car after what happened. He offers to ride along with her in her new car until she gets comfortable again. Courtney explains that the reason she doesn't want to drive a car is because she feels she shouldn't be allowed to since she ran Elizabeth down. Jason tells her that even if Alcazar hadn't had the accident covered up he would have had it covered up himself and to blame him. She tells him she feels guilty because she is glad that she didn't have to face charges and worries about what that says about her. Jason tells her that if she wants to go to the police station and tell them to charge her, he will support her. She tells him she doesn't want to go to jail and wants to be home with him and the couple embrace.

Stefan shows up at Sonny's penthouse to talk to him. He tells Sonny and Jason that he will not accept their loan to pay off Alcazar since his nephew can't afford to do business with men like them. Sonny asks him where he thinks he will get the money to pay back Alcazar when he is supposed to be broke. Stefan tells them he will find a way to help himself and to keep Nikolas safe. Sonny tells him that it is up to Nikolas to make that decision and that he came to them and that Jason is doing a favor to him because of his friendship to Emily. Stefan refuses to take any more money from them and that he will return the money Nikolas already owes them. Stefan leaves. Sonny asks Jason what that was all about with Stefan. Jason doesn't know. Sonny tells Jason that Alcazar needs to be eliminated soon. He also explains his theory to Jason about why Alcazar went after the Cassadines, to get control of their estate that would allow him to ship his product. He tells Jason that Alcazar's motive includes Carly now not just to get revenge. Jason agrees to get rid of Alcazar tonight.

Nikolas meets with Jason on the docks. Nikolas doesn't want Alcazar dead if he can keep paying off the debt himself. Jason explains that Emily is still a target and that their best course of action at this moment is to eliminate the threat, Alcazar. Nikolas goes along with it. Courtney and Carly talk outside of Kelly's. Carly tells her that Sonny hasn't been sleeping well lately and has been having nightmares about Lily's death. Alcazar overhears them talking and is pleased that his plan against Sonny is working. Courtney tells her that her own nightmares are starting to fade a little. Courtney also mentions that she noticed how Sonny was acting strangely the other day and mentioned seeing some woman that wasn't there. Carly worries that Sonny is so afraid that she is going to die and lose the baby like Lily did with their child, that he is getting paranoid and seeing Lily in his dreams lately. Alcazar interrupts their talk. Courtney tells him to go away and leave them alone.

Courtney overhears Jason telling Nikolas that Alcazar won't be a problem for anyone anymore after tomorrow. Courtney walks down to greet them and acts like she didn't hear anything. Nikolas leaves them alone. Courtney asks him what is going on. Jason tells her he has business to take care of and that he was just talking to Nikolas about Emily's condition. Jason takes off suddenly. Courtney calls Carly at the club and asks her to come meet her and that she needs her help. Carly leaves Sonny waiting at the club and reassures him she will be fine.

Alcazar makes some phone calls on his cell phone. A man in a ski mask comes up from behind him and pulls a cord around his neck tight and starts to strangle Alcazar. Cop sirens are heard coming toward the alleyway. The masked man drops Alcazar on the ground, unconscious and runs off. Jason comes to the alleyway with his gun drawn but the masked man gets away. Jason checks on Alcazar but takes off in case the police find him. Carly and Courtney meet on the docks. Courtney tells her that she has a bad feeling that Jason is going to get himself in trouble and goes on to explain what she overheard Jason tell Nikolas, about getting rid of Alcazar tonight. Courtney asks her what they should do. Carly tells her to go home and forget what she heard and that Jason will take care of himself. Carly tells her she is going to go back to her club where Sonny is waiting for her and the two of them are going to have a romantic dinner. Jason returns to the docks to find Courtney waiting around for him. He asks her why she didn't go home. She tells him that she overheard what he told Nikolas and asks him if he is going to kill Alcazar. Trying to understand him, she asks if he would feel regret if he did kill Lorenzo. Jason realizes that these questions are about Liz. Courtney tells him that she needs to let Liz know what happened and to allow Liz to confront her. Jason gets a phone call from Sonny. He leaves Courtney to go to Sonny.

Ric and Liz walk down to the docks and run into Courtney. Ric tells Courtney to leave Liz alone, since she has done enough damage to her already. Liz asks Courtney to walk her back to the hospital. She tells Liz about the night of the accident and how she doesn't remember hitting her. Liz accepts Courtney's apology for Jason's sake. She tells her that she knows she didn't mean for the accident to happen. Liz tells Courtney that she knows how much Jason loves her and how much he would want Liz to forgive her.

Jason arrives at The Cellar. Sonny tells him that he saw Lily. He tells Jason that Lily told him that he was going to lose Carly. Jason asked if Lily spoke and Sonny tells him that she didn't have to, because he saw her. Jason tells Sonny that he thinks he just saw his own fear. Jason tells Sonny that someone killed Lorenzo before he got to him. Jason sent Stan to Lorenzo's apartment to find something useful. Jason tries to help Sonny understand his fear and urges him to not let anything happen to Carly, that he should get up and fight. At Wyndemere, Jason tells Nikolas that someone killed Lorenzo, but it wasn't him. Nikolas tells him that he knows. Stefan tells him that Nikolas wasn't involved in Lorenzo's murder, but Jason realizes that Stefan did. Stan calls Jason to let him know that Lorenzo is still alive. Jason tells Nikolas that as a show of good faith, he is going to turn Stefan in. Nikolas tells him that he cannot do that. Jason tells Nikolas that Stefan needs to die, since he tried to kill Lorenzo and failed, he is as good as dead anyway. Nikolas tells Jason that he cannot kill his uncle. Jason asks Nikolas, if Stefan attempted to murder Emily, the woman he claims to love, why is he working so hard to protect Stefan? He asks Jason for 24 hours to handle the situation and he agrees. Afterwards, if things aren't handled, he would turn Stefan over to Jason.

Jason returns to the penthouse to tell Sonny about Lorenzo. Sonny tells Jason about Carly saving him. Sonny tells Jason that he is beginning not to care anymore because these things keep happening. He wonders why she would save Lorenzo, the man who kidnapped her, his enemy. Jason tells him that people act differently when they are scared and Sonny thinks that he means that he is going crazy for seeing Lily. Jason tells him that he needs to figure out this situation with Lily because his family is falling apart, and Sonny tells him that it would have been easier if Carly would have let Lorenzo die. Jason tells him that Stefan was the one who attempted to kill Lorenzo. He tells Jason to give Lorenzo this information as a show of good faith. Sonny goes for a walk. Down at the docks, Jason meets with Lorenzo and tells him that Stefan was the one who tried to kill him and he acted alone. They agree to continue the truce. Jason leaves and Lorenzo calls Capelli, who is arresting Stefan and instructs him to kill him. Capelli tells him that it shouldn't be a problem.

Courtney stays at Sonny's to watch Michael. Jason comes home. Courtney suggests that they get married as soon as possible to help distract Carly and Sonny from their problems. Jason doesn't want to get married under those circumstances but understands why Courtney wants to do it, because she always wants to take care of others. Jason explains that when they get married it will be because they want to and that they love each other not because they want to please others. Michael comes in the room and complains that there is no ice cream left in the freezer. He tells her he really wants a sundae. Courtney tells him they can go out for ice cream if he wants to. Jason tells Michael that he needs to stay home right now and to go with Courtney. Courtney takes him to Kelly's. They are eating ice cream when Courtney gets a call on her cell phone from her father. The reception is bad so Courtney leaves Michael alone for a minute to take the call within hearing distance from Michael. Michael is eating his sundae when "Lily" approaches him and waves to him. Michael tells her that he can't talk to strangers. "Lily" tells him she isn't a stranger and that she knows his father. She shows him a ruby ring and tells him that Sonny gave her that ring and to tell Sonny that she will see him soon and needs to talk to him again. Michael agrees to give her the message. Courtney gets off the phone and asks Michael who he is talking to. Michael asks Courtney if she knows the woman. Courtney doesn't see her since she disappears.

Carly returns home to find Jason there. She tells him that Sonny told her about seeing Lily and that she followed Sonny to the cemetery. She tells him that Sonny claims he saw "Lily" earlier but she didn't and is worried about his mental state. Jason suggests to her to do nothing and let Sonny handle it now. Carly doesn't agree. Sonny shows up with Faith. He tells Faith to tell Jason and Carly that she saw a woman who looked like Lily on the other side of the gate at the cemetery. Carly wonders what Faith is up to and why Sonny is buying Faith's story. Sonny dismisses Faith and warns her to stay away from the cemetery. After she leaves, Carly tells him she doesn't like that Faith just happened to be at the cemetery when he was when "Lily" happened to appear. Jason agrees that he is bothered by that coincidence. Courtney comes home with Michael. Michael brings home more ice cream for Carly. Michael tells Sonny about seeing some woman that he knows. Courtney interrupts to stop Michael from telling Sonny but Sonny tells him to go on. Michael explains that the woman showed him a red ring and told him he gave it to her and that she wanted him to know that she wants to see him again and they need to talk again. Sonny tells everyone that the engagement ring he gave Lily had a red stone.

Sonny asks Michael about the woman he saw outside Kelly's. Michael tells him that she was wearing a pink dress and had dark hair but that she was in the dark a little and then disappeared. Sonny shows Michael a picture of him with Lily and asks him if she was the woman he saw. Michael confirms that it was the same woman. Carly isn't pleased with this news and has Michael go into the kitchen and then up to his room. Sonny tells Carly that this proves that Lily is really there if Michael saw her too. Jason agrees that this changes things and that this is more than a coincidence. Sonny tells them he has to go back to the cemetery and wait for her to come back and tell him what she needs to tell him. After he takes off Carly asks Jason to follow him but not to interfere but just to find out what he is going to do next. Jason agrees to follow him. After he leaves, Carly tells Courtney that she needs to go to the hospital and have an ultrasound to prove to Sonny that nothing is wrong with their baby. Courtney agrees to take her. Sonny arrives at the cemetery. "Lily" appears shortly after that but Jason arrives. Sonny asks him what he is doing there. Jason tells him he is worried about him and Carly asked him to follow him for protection. Sonny tells him he needs to figure out what is going on here and doesn't want his interference. Jason is about to leave when Sonny sees "Lily" at the gate again and Jason sees her too. Sonny asks her to tell him what is going on. Jason pulls out his gun and aims it toward the gate. "Lily" runs away. At first Sonny is angry with Jason for scaring her off. Jason explains that if Lily was a ghost she wouldn't have run off scared. He tells him that the person at the gate ran away because she was afraid he would shoot her. Jason leaves Sonny alone.

Carly and Courtney are in the examining room at GH while Dr. Meadows does an ultrasound on Carly. Dr. Meadows has a concerned look on her face and abruptly tells Carly that she needs to consult with another doctor about the ultrasound. Carly doesn't like the look on Dr. Meadows' face and tells Courtney that something is wrong with the baby. Afterwards, Sonny shows up to tell Carly that he saw "Lily" again and that there is something wrong with the baby's heart. Dr. Meadows comes into the room and tells Sonny that he is correct and that their baby has a whole in its heart between the right and left atrium. Jason is there and hears the news as well. Jason goes back to the cemetery and discovers "Lily's" footprints, causing him to believe that she's not the ghostly vision Sonny has made her out to be. Jason tells Sonny about the footprints he found by Lily's grave, making Sonny lash out at him when he suggests that the ghost haunting him isn't real.

At Carly's baby shower, she opens a gift from Courtney. (I didn't include all of the shower since Jason and Courtney had already left for France and so didn't attend). Jason and Courtney arrive in France. The bellboy, John, is enamored with Courtney and tries to ingratiate himself into their lives. He shows them to their room and lingers around to see Courtney. Jason is annoyed with him but doesn't say anything but pays him a tip to get rid of him. Later they have a romantic dinner on the terrace that John, ends up serving to them. He goes on about the wine and how they should properly savor the taste. Jason is getting more annoyed but is polite. Courtney gets a kick out the bellboy and server. Later, they go back to their room. They hear music coming from the balcony as they are kissing. They go to investigate and find John there playing the music. Jason shows him to the door and pushes him out the door in annoyance. Courtney laughs and they dance. Later, they lay in bed. Jason surprises Courtney by announcing they should get married there in France as soon as possible.

Jason asks Courtney to marry him right away while they are in France. Courtney is surprised by this sudden change in his attitude about getting married right now. He explains that it just feels right to him that they get married right now. Courtney is concerned about whether they are just trying to escape from the problems at home and using the wedding as a way to forget about things. Jason disagrees about it and thinks it is the perfect time to get married. He grabs her hand and asks her to marry him. She accepts. It is late there in France and the next day they meet in some park in some French town. The minister greets them. Jason and Courtney are pleased at seeing each other all dressed up. The priest is set to start the ceremony when Jason interrupts him and tells Courtney that he invited some guests and is waiting for them. Carly shows up at the park as well as Sonny moments later. Sonny gives Carly a bouquet to give Courtney. Courtney is ecstatic when she sees them and realizes how much she wanted them to be there for her special day. The priest starts the ceremony. Sonny and Carly look at each other from afar. Jason and Courtney are married, while Sonny and Carly serve as witnesses. Following the wedding, Sonny declares that he has moved out of the Penthouse. Carly later confides to Jason that she is about at the end of her rope with Sonny pushing her away.

Jason and Courtney enjoy the rest of their wedding day. They talk about starting a family. She tells him that maybe this is the time for just the two of them. The phone rings. Sonny tells Courtney that there is trouble with the plane that Sonny and Carly are traveling back to PC on. Sonny begins to tell Courtney how proud he is of her. She refuses to take this as a goodbye. He hands the phone to Carly, she tells Courtney that she doesn't know if there is a chance that the plane will land safely. She tells Courtney how happy she is for her and Jason. Courtney hands the phone to Jason. Carly asks him to take care of Michael. Sonny also gives his goodbyes. They hang up and Jason tries to find a way to save the plane. Jason returns to the hotel room and Sonny calls him. He tells Jason that they landed safely. Courtney and Jason are both relieved.

Jason and Courtney return home and discover that Sonny has moved into their apartment! Sonny explains that he believes the plane was sabotaged and asks Jason to ramrod the investigation. When Courtney questions why Sonny is planning to live with Courtney and Jason, Sonny explains that he just wants to keep an eye on Carly and Michael until Carly can get moved in to the dream home that Sonny just bought for her. Courtney informs Carly that Sonny is across the hall, outlining a new job for Jason. Carly bursts in to Jason's Penthouse and blasts Sonny for trying to buy her off with a dream home which does not include Sonny in residence! Sonny continues to argue that Sonny's plan is the only plan that will keep Carly safe. Carly blasts Sonny for infringing on Jason and Courtney's honeymoon! Carly declares that Sonny will not be able to get rid of Carly as easily as Sonny believes then Carly storms out of the apartment. Courtney follows Carly back to Sonny's penthouse and Carly urges Courtney to throw Sonny out and demand the post-wedding privacy that Jason and Courtney are entitled to be enjoying! Jason also tries to convince Sonny that leaving Carly and planning live apart from Carly is not the answer to Sonny's fears for his family. Courtney asks Jason if Sonny will be gone long enough for them to get in a little cuddle time. When Jason waffles with his answer, Courtney makes a plea for Jason to carve out a little time away from Sonny's "business" for Jason and Courtney to enjoy some time alone together.

Courtney tells Jason that she wishes Sonny would go back and live with Carly where he belongs and she wishes they could have more privacy. Jason tells her that he can't interfere with Sonny's marriage problems. Carly shows up and asks Jason if he just came over and knocked on the door. Jason goes and checks it out. Johnny goes into Sonny's penthouse and places an envelope on the mantel with Sonny's name on the front. He takes off his gloves and leaves the penthouse just as Jason comes out of his apartment. He asks what Johnny was doing. Johnny tells him he was just checking to make sure everything was safe. Jason notices that Johnny appears a little nervous about something. He lets him go do his business. Carly hangs out and complains about Sonny to them. Courtney hints to her that she and Jason want to be alone. Carly gets the hint after telling Jason that she advised Courtney to not let him trample over her like Sonny does. She leaves. Jason goes to the cemetery and sees someone who looks like Lily in the shadows but she leaves and hides in the corner of the gate. Jason hears a noise and asks who is there. Faith comes over and tells him she came to see her late husband's grave. Jason doesn't believe her but lets her go. He meets with his technician and asks him to investigate Johnny's bank accounts.

Carly dresses up and is upset when she finds Sonny is gone again. She complains to Courtney, who comes over to check on her. She tells her that she is going to go out and make Sonny jealous in order to make him not keep her out of his sight. Courtney tries to stop her but she goes and leaves. Jason returns and Courtney tells her what happened. Jason realizes that Carly is going to go find Alcazar to make Sonny jealous. Jason interrupts Carly and Alcazar and asks what Alcazar wants. Alcazar makes a remark about how he tells her what to do and treats her with disrespect just like Sonny. Jason tells him to leave. Carly tells Jason that she did nothing with Alcazar and was just talking to him. Jason tells her he believes her that nothing happened but that Sonny won't understand. Carly cries and tells him that Sonny keeps pushing her away and that he is hurting her and she doesn't know how to stop him. Jason comforts her. He tells her that Sonny is just scared right now and that he will come around soon. He tells her he is still investigating this whole "Lily" thing and is getting close to figuring it all out. He tells her to be patient and wait Sonny out. She doesn't think she can wait much longer for Sonny. He takes her home.

Courtney finds Sonny alone at the penthouse. He asks her where Carly went. She tells him that she doesn't know where she is but that Carly was upset about him standing her up for dinner. Sonny takes off. Carly returns home with Jason and they learn from Courtney that Sonny was just there and wondered where she went and then took off himself again. Carly feels that she is again the villain but that it is okay for Sonny to abandon his wife and children. Jason asks her if Johnny was with her and took her to the park to meet Alcazar. She tells him he did but to not blame Johnny for allowing her to be alone with Alcazar since he has a soft spot and she took advantage. He doesn't care about that and asks her if Johnny was with her or if he took off. She tells him he left. He goes to take care of business. Jason goes to some alley near the warehouse and witnesses one of Alcazar's men hand Johnny, Sonny's bodyguard a package of money, thanking him for doing a good job for him. Jason waits until Alcazar's man leaves, and comes up behind Johnny while he is looking at the money. Jason confronts him about it. Johnny's face whitens when he sees Jason. Jason asks him why he betrayed Sonny and asks him if he was the one who let the woman in to Sonny's place to pretend to be Lily. Johnny gets really nervous and tries to explain that he needed the money because he got in too deep with gambling debts and didn't' know what to do. Jason isn't interested in his excuses and demands to know what he knows about Alcazar's scheme against Sonny.

Carly leaves the penthouse and heads to the new house. She takes a bad fall from the top of the staircase and lies unconscious at the foot of the stairs. Sonny and Jason search for her after releasing she is missing. After getting a lead, Jason and Sonny storm Alcazar's jet looking for Carly but find Marcella instead. Carly goes into labor. She drags her body across the floor of the new house trying to get to her cell phone which is dead.. The front door opens and Courtney comes in and finds her on the floor. She helps her up and tells her she is going to take her to the hospital. Carly tells her it probably isn't safe for her to move anymore and that she hurts all over her body. Courtney stands with her and tries to get her to the door. Carly tells her that she is afraid to move right now and Courtney brings her over to the couch to lie down on. Courtney turns on a radio she finds and gets some blankets for Carly. The radio announcer informs them that the bridge is down and that many roads have been closed because of the storm. Carly tells her to leave and get help for her. She tells her that she can stay here and wait since her water hasn't broken yet. Courtney is afraid to leave her alone but reluctantly leaves to go get medical help and find Sonny.

Sonny and Jason escort Marcella, a.k.a. "Lily" into the penthouse. They question her about Alcazar's plans. She tells them that Alcazar hired her to pretend to be Lily's ghost so Sonny would focus on her and go crazy and that would give Alcazar a chance to get Carly for himself. She admits to all of it. She also tells them that Faith Rosco was also part of the scheme. Sonny tells Jason to go find Faith. Jason finds Faith at Jake's bar. She had told one of her men that she isn't safe in Port Charles and needs to leave town immediately. Jason dismisses her goon and sits down to confront her for her part in Alcazar's scheme. Faith tells Jason that when the scheme got out of hand she did warn Sonny about Alcazar's plans to get Carly for himself. Jason tells her that she can run and be lucky that Sonny and everyone is too busy right now looking for Carly to care about what she is doing right now but that Sonny won't forget about her for long. Jason gets a phone call on his cell-phone from Courtney, who is driving into the storm. She tells him she found Carly and tries to tell him where she is but the connection is bad and he can't hear what she is telling him. He hears Courtney scream and the sound of her car crashing into something and realizes she is in an accident. Carly panics when her water does break and she is all alone.

Jason calls Sonny's and leaves a message about how Faith doesn't know where Carly is or if Alcazar has her or not. Jason returns to the penthouse and notices the blood on Sonny's sleeve and asks him what happened. Sonny tells him he had a run-in with Alcazar and will explain later. Jason tells him about the call he got from Courtney on her cell-phone and how it sounded as if she was in a car accident. He doesn't know where Carly is since Courtney's phone was going out when she was about to tell him and he heard a car crash. Sonny calls his men to go find Alcazar. Meanwhile, Jason keeps trying to call Courtney on her cell-phone but gets no answer from her since she is laying unconscious on the ground. A dark figure comes over and grabs the phone and turns it off as he hears Jason asking frantically for Courtney to answer him. He leans down and checks Courtney's pulse. Alcazar shows up and leans down to wake Courtney up. Courtney starts to come to and says Carly's name. Alcazar tells her he needs to know where Carly is and if she is hurt. Courtney sees that it is Alcazar and tells him to go away. He tells her that he would never harm Carly and that he needs to help her if she is hurt. Courtney tells him where Carly is and that she is hurt. Alcazar tells Capelli to stay with Courtney. Capelli tells him he needs to call the paramedics and Jason to let them know about Courtney since he has to be a cop right now. Alcazar takes off. Capelli calls Jason after he calls for the paramedics. He tells him about her car accident and that he is near the bridge. Jason and Sonny head out. Capelli leans over Courtney and tells her he didn't hear what she said about Carly and realizes she is unconscious again.

Jason and Sonny arrive on the scene. They follow the ambulance back to GH. Jason asks Alan for his help. He also asks to see Monica. He finds Emily and worries something is wrong. She tells him the good news about being in remission. He is happy for her and hugs her. He asks to see Monica so she can look at Courtney for him since she was just in a car accident. Monica comes into the room and is pleased to see Jason, who explains about Courtney's accident. Monica agrees to check her for him. He tells her that she is the reason that Emily is in remission and thanks her. She tells him that she is just doing her job as a mother. Monica checks on Courtney and tells Jason and Sonny to leave the room so she can examine her. Carly is surprised to see Alcazar show up. He tells her that he is calling for a helicopter to pick them up and bring her to the hospital. She tells him there is no time to get her to the hospital and that her labor pains are 3 minutes apart now and she is going to have the baby here in the new house.

Courtney wakes up and tells Jason and Sonny that Carly is at the new house and warns Sonny that Alcazar is probably already there with her. Sonny takes off. He and Jason also talk to Capelli, who lies and tells them that Courtney never told him anything about where Carly was. Alan examines Courtney and tells her he wants her to stay over one night for observation and tells Jason to promise not to take her out of the hospital until tomorrow. Jason promises not to sneak her out of there. He congratulates them on their marriage. Courtney tells Alan that it was a small ceremony and that only Sonny and Carly were there as witnesses and that her own father wasn't even there. Alan tells her that is o.k. After he leaves, Courtney tells Jason that he seemed bothered by Alan's reaction a little. He tells her he is fine. He asks her why she didn't tell him where she was going. She tells him that she didn't want to bother him when he was so busy. He tells her not to think she is bothering him and from now on to tell him where she is going so he knows where to find her. He tells her how scared he was when he heard her on the phone and then heard her car crash and didn't know where to find her. He asks her if she wants to go home right now. She tells him she wants to go home but shouldn't. Jason tells her he will pick her up and take her home right now if she wants to. She agrees that she wants to go home. He picks her up but Ric comes in to question Jason about Carly's disappearance. Courtney tells Ric that she was with Carly and that Carly fell down the stairs and that Sonny wasn't there. Ric insinuates that Sonny was there earlier and could have pushed Carly down the stairs. Jason tells Ric that he is hardly objective about this and shouldn't be the one who questions them. Courtney gets upset with Ric and tells him that he is the sick twisted one who kidnapped Carly to begin with. Jason tells him the questioning is over with. Courtney agrees to stay at the hospital while Jason goes to find Carly and make sure Sonny got there.

Later, Elizabeth comes over with a clipboard and tells Courtney to sign it to be admitted into a room soon. Elizabeth tells her she just came to visit her grandmother and realized how swamped she was with the storm outside and agreed to help get some of the paperwork done for her. Courtney tells her she got into a car accident on her way to get help and tells her that Carly was hurt and may have gone into labor. Sonny drives through the storm to get to Carly and has to deal with police who try to stop him from going further in the storm. He explains that he needs to get to his wife, who is in labor and all alone. The cop agrees to get paramedics at the address as soon as possible. Alcazar tries to get Carly to let him get her out of the house and to the hospital. She tells him that she is in labor already and won't make it to the hospital and that he will have to help her deliver her baby. He agrees to help her. Carly tells him that she loves her husband and always will. Alcazar tells her he knows she loves Sonny and that she wants to be with him but that he loves her too. She makes him promise to make sure that the baby gets to the hospital since he has a whole in his heart and needs medical attention. She tells him that she hemorrhaged when she was in labor for Michael and was unconscious when they did a C-section on her. She tells him that if he loves her he will make sure that the baby gets to the hospital even if it means she doesn't make it. Alcazar promises to do what she asked. She starts to feel pressure down below and feels that she needs to push now. Alcazar tells her she is bleeding but doesn't know how much but that he can see the baby's head.

Jason talks to a Med-Evac helicopter pilot to get him to Carly but the pilot tells him he has to get to people who are in more urgent need of care first but will do his best to get to Carly. Jason also deals with road blocks and ends up hitting a cop on duty and knocking him out when the man tries to stop Jason from going further. Sonny gets to the front door and hears Carly scream. He goes inside and draws his gun out. He sees Alcazar and shoots him in the back. Alcazar drops to the floor. Sonny shoots a couple of times. He gets to Carly and sees that she is close to giving birth to their son. He tells her to keep pushing. Carly seems very weak and pale but she manages to push enough to for the baby to be born. Sonny takes the baby out and shows her their son is alive and o.k. Carly looks at the baby and than turns her head and is unconscious. Sonny sees a bullet in the side of her head and realizes what he has done. Alcazar crawls out of the house with a gun shot wound and just lays there in the rain. Jason arrives to learn that Sonny accidentally shot Carly, who is then rushed to GH.

Realizing that Sonny is no state of mind to be taking care of Michael and Morgan, Courtney suggests that she and Jason step in as their guardians until Carly is out of medical danger. Sonny protests Ric's attempt to arrest him, but Ric points out that Sonny shot Alcazar in the back and they do not yet have a statement from Sonny's other victim Carly! Jason reminds Ric that Alcazar has already said he will not be pressing charges. Scott arrives and announces that Sonny is released, but the charges are still pending.

At the hospital, Courtney and Bobbie take Morgan to Carly's room and assure a comatose Carly that her baby is in fine shape and eager for Carly to join him at home. As Bobbie confides to Courtney that Bobbie believes Carly would be better off with any one else except Sonny, Lorenzo walks by and overhears Bobbie's comments. At Sonny's Penthouse, Courtney becomes flustered when Morgan begins to fuss. After Jason takes over and quiets the baby, Courtney confesses that she is afraid she would never be able to become a good mother. But Jason assures Courtney that she will be a fabulous mother when the time is right!

Jason and Courtney try to explain to Michael why Carly is still not awake yet. Later at GH, Jason gets a call on his cell phone from Sammy Tagliati announcing that there is going to be a meeting of the five families later and that they would like Sonny to show up even though Carly is in the hospital. Jason thanks him for calling. He goes to the hospital to tell Sonny about the meeting. Sonny tells him he has no interest in doing business right now and that he can go in place of him tonight and do what he has to. Faith shows up at the hospital and asks Sonny and Jason about the meeting with the five families and what the agenda for the meeting is going to be. Jason and Sonny refuse to tell her anything and Sonny warns her to stay away from him and not to go near Carly's room ever again. Faith tells him she got the message and leaves. Jason goes home and tells Courtney that he has to attend a meeting tonight. Courtney notices that he is carrying his gun and worries for his safety. He kisses her goodbye and leaves. He gets to the meeting and explains to them that Sonny refuses to leave his wife's side right now and that he came to represent Sonny's interests. They tell him they are concerned about Sonny's rivalry with Alcazar and how the police and FBI are interested and that worries them. Faith shows up without being invited. They tell her she isn't welcome there and has their men escort her out of the warehouse. She is approached by some men outside. She nods her head at them as signal to follow her plan. They get their guns out and ready. They enter the warehouse and open fire on the leaders of the five families. Jason ducks down under the table when he sees them enter the warehouse. Jason gets shot and lays on the floor of the warehouse after getting a few shots off himself.

Courtney gets the baby to sleep and accidentally hits the remote control for the TV. when she sits on the chair where the remote is resting. The TV. turns on because of it and Courtney hears about some shooting incident at the warehouse and how it looks like a massacre. Courtney starts to really worry about Jason. Faith's men continue to shoot up the warehouse. They are about to make sure that Jason is finished off when they hear sirens coming closer and take off before they are caught. Courtney shows up to the warehouse and sees all these bodies covered in white sheets. She peaks at one of them to see if it is Jason but it isn't. A cop comes in and tells her she can't be there since it is a crime scene. Courtney argues with the cop that she is looking for her husband and needs to find out if he is dead. The cop feels bad for her but wants her to leave the warehouse. She gets hysterical and starts to get past him to check any of the bodies. Lucky comes in with his police uniform and takes over for the cop. He tells her that Jason could be dead and may have started this shooting to begin with. Courtney tells him that Jason wasn't supposed to be at the meeting and that Sonny was. She ends up going home.

Faith finds Sonny in the chapel. She tells him that she got rid of the leaders of the five families and even had Jason killed and that now she runs his territory too. Sonny gets up and warns her to watch it. Her two goons grab Sonny so he can't go after Faith. Faith tells him that he better start showing her more respect or he will be dead just like his enforcer, Jason. She threatens to make his family disappear if he doesn't agree to cooperate with her and work for her now. Sonny tries to reach Jason but can't. He decides to use the phone at the nurses' station. He is about to call and find out about the shootings. He hears Jason's voice. He turns around. Jason explains that he was wearing his bullet-proof vest tonight and wasn't hurt. Sonny fills him in on Faith being behind the shooting. Jason returns home. Courtney is upset and crying, thinking that Jason could be dead or seriously wounded. Jason calls out her name when he gets home. Courtney flies into his arms. She tells him she was worried he was dead and had to go there to see if he was killed. Jason asks her not to do things like that again and assures her that he was wearing his bullet-proof vest. Courtney tells him she now knows why Sonny was so against them getting together at one time because he was afraid she would end up being alone and he would get himself killed. Jason looks at her in concern and grabs and holds her.

Sonny tells Jason that he couldn't shoot Faith when he had the perfect opportunity to do it. He tells Jason that he is out of the organization right now. Sonny tells Jason that he is giving up his business in hopes that it will keep his family safe. Courtney is shaken to the core when Jason, in turn, announces that he's taking over in Sonny's place. No matter how hard she tries, she's unable to talk him into leaving his dangerous lifestyle, prompting her to hit the road with Michael and Morgan.

In the aftermath of the warehouse massacre, Courtney tells Jason she's taking Morgan and Michael away until things are safe. Jason disagrees and states that the danger is over, but she stands firm. It's one thing for her to take the risks of his life because she's the one who did the choosing. The kids, however, had no choice in the matter and shouldn't be in harm's way. Jason notes that Sonny is the one who should make the decisions regarding his sons' well being. Sonny has arrived at the penthouse, and Courtney is making a solid case for taking the boys away to safety. Sonny puts up a little resistance by insisting he's getting out of the life, but Courtney points out that there's going to be a transition time and during that time, danger still comes with his territory. Sonny comes to agree with her. Jason hits the roof and tries to convince Sonny that Courtney is merely panicking and that Carly would want him to hold the family together. Sonny points out that he can't do that right now because he's on the edge. Courtney tries to tell Jason that Carly would want her sons safe. Ultimately, Sonny asks Jason to abide by his decision and to help Courtney make the arrangements. Courtney brings Michael and Morgan in so they can say good-bye. Michael sweetly kisses Carly and insists that Morgan be put in her arms. Courtney and the kids say their good-byes to Sonny. As they leave, Jason bids kind farewells to the kids but gives Courtney the cold shoulder.

Courtney arrives at her new home with Rosie, Michael and Morgan in tow. Courtney explains to Michael that they need to stay far away from Port Charles until it is safe to return home. Sonny calls Michael and Courtney with a report on Carly's condition and promises to call often. Courtney admits a handyman to make some repairs at the house. The handyman introduces himself as Brian and quickly charms both Courtney and Michael. Later, Courtney is alarmed when she hears rapid gunshots coming from the backyard of the cottage she rented. She tells Michael to get on the floor and stay there while she gets to the phone and calls 911. She hears someone outside the door and goes over cautiously to open it. She plows into the man outside the door not realizing it is a cop. The cop turns out to be the Sheriff, who ends up being Brian, the handyman who fixed the stair banister. He wonders why Courtney called 911 and why she attacked him at the door. She tells him about the gunshots she heard outside the cottage. He suggests she came from a family of cops by how she reacted to everything. She doesn't confirm or deny that fact. Brian talks to Michael about how he has a few jobs here in town including being the town sheriff. She invites him in for coffee. He inquires about what happened at the station and finds out that the gunshots she heard were really fireworks that were shot off by some neighborhood boys in town.
