Carly tried to get Sonny to rest a bit, but Ric knocked at the door and Sonny agreed to see him. Carly went to the loft to check on Courtney. Rather than try to talk her out of it, Carly just told Courtney that she was there for her always. Ric told Sonny he had new information on the pictures of Faith and Jax that shed some doubt on their authenticity. Ric clumsily tried to explain how he now longer thought Jax was Faith's silent partner, and Jason was shocked to hear Sonny congratulate Ric for his loyalty and good work. After Ric left, though, Sonny revealed to Jason that Ric was Faith's silent partner.

Jason met Fowler on the docks. Fowler told Jason he knew who Faith's silent partner was and would tell him for a payoff. Someone (presumably Ric) came up from behind and knocked Jason unconscious. When Jason awoke, both Fowler and the mystery person were gone. Jason went back to Sonny's penthouse and told Sonny they he had been set up, but he wondered why since they hadn't killed him. He offered to take Ric out now that they knew he was working with Faith, but Sonny wanted to wait to find out why Ric wanted to go after him. Ric walked in on their discussion, and Jason told him flat out that they knew he was working with Faith. Ric denied it, but Sonny asserted that he, too, was convinced. Jason held Ric at gunpoint while Sonny demanded to know why Ric wanted to destroy him from the inside.

Carly visited a distraught Courtney at the loft. She reassured Courtney that Sonny would get better with time. Courtney admitted that being apart from Jason was far more difficult than she had anticipated, especially being at the loft where they had spent so much time together. Courtney went to work at Kelly's hoping to take her mind off Jason. Carly went with her. Elizabeth and Courtney bickered over Courtney coming back to work. Marco came in and tried to escort Courtney back to the loft on Sonny's orders, only further enraging her. Courtney demanded to know what else Sonny demanded that she give up. Carly stepped in and sat Courtney down after getting Marco to leave. Courtney apologized for taking her grief over her own decision out on Carly. Later, Courtney found a dead man in the dumpster while taking out the trash. She called Carly out, but within seconds Taggert was on the scene. Faith arrived and identified the body as her employee Fowler. She told Taggert that Jason had murdered him.

At Kelly's, Courtney and Carly seethe while Faith insists to the police that it must have been Jason Morgan who killed Faith's employee, Fowler. After the police leave, Courtney confronts Faith, but Faith reminds Courtney that Jason is a killer from way back! Courtney slugs Faith but is appalled when Faith turns around and kisses her. As Faith storms out the door, she warns Courtney that Courtney should be afraid of Faith! Later, Courtney wonders if it might have been the 'kiss of death,' as she had seen in movies. As Courtney remembers that it was Fowler who abducted her, Carly suddenly remembers that Fowler was also the one who tried to pick Carly up at Jake's, before Ric showed up and ran Fowler off. When Carly spots Coleman coming into Kelly's, Courtney volunteers to pump Coleman to see if Coleman remembers anything about Fowler hitting on Carly. Coleman later tells Courtney that the bartender saw Fowler trying to slip something into Carly's drink. But, since the bartender knew that Ric worked for Sonny, he figured Carly would be OK when Ric showed up! Coleman promises Courtney that he will ask around to find out if anyone remembers anything, then warns Courtney to remember that she is now playing with a dangerous crowd!

At Sonny's Penthouse, Sonny orders Jason to execute Ric, but demands to know first what it is that Ric wants with Sonny. Ric tells Sonny that Sonny has known from the beginning. As Jason cocks his gun and takes aim at Ric, Taggert arrives at the door and loudly demands that Sonny open up right away and answer questions. Jason puts away his gun and, when he enters, Taggert informs Jason that Fowler is dead and, since Jason almost killed Fowler on the docks, Jason is the prime suspect. Taggert informs Jason that it was Courtney who opened the dumpster and discovered Fowler's body. When Taggert demands to know where Jason has been, Sonny and Jason are both stunned when Ric suddenly insists that Ric and Jason had been together, looking at some property they were considering buying to build a new warehouse. Ric then begins to demand warrants and other legitimate reasons for Taggert to be at Sonny's Penthouse and demanding explanations! Taggert admits that he brought no warrant but, before he leaves in disgust, Taggert warns Ric to think twice about his involvement with Sonny because Ric could end up in the same kind of trouble as Sonny's former attorney, Alexis Davis! After Taggert leaves, Sonny demands to know what Ric thought he was doing by offering an alibi for Jason. Ric points out that of Ric were Faith's silent partner, the smart thing for Ric to do would have been for Ric to admit to Taggert that the police had interrupted Sonny and Jason getting ready to murder Ric. Ric again insists that he only wants to be helpful to Sonny and to be a part of his organization and assures Sonny that Ric has no ulterior motive. Sonny pretends to accept Ric's story and, after the two shake hands, Ric leaves. But, after Ric is gone, Sonny and Jason agree that whoever killed Fowler was sloppy. When Jason asks if he should go ahead and pull the trigger on Ric, Sonny announces that Sonny now has a better idea about eliminating Ric. Sonny suggests that Ric could be a Fed, but, what Ric is doing seems personal and they will need to be careful in setting a trap for Ric.

Courtney tells Carly that Coleman's bartender saw Fowler put something in Carly's drink at Jake's. Later, Jason stops by Kelly's to reassure Courtney that he is okay. Jason watches and waits outside of Kelly's and spots Ric coming downstairs from his room. Ric spots him and goes outside to confront him. He asks Jason if he is spying on him now. Jason just stands there and scowls at him. Ric taunts Jason and brags about how he now has Sonny's trust and that he works for him and suggests that Jason may be the real trader. When Ric questions Jason's loyalty to Sonny and makes a snide remark about Courtney, Jason punches him in the stomach and grabs him by the collar and slams him against the doors at Kelly's and warns him to never question his loyalty to Sonny. Ric makes a remark about how he needs him as his alibi and that if he doesn't stop it he may find himself charged with murder. Ric takes off and Liz comes out and asks him what he did to Ric. Jason warns her to stay away from Ric and that he is bad news and can't be trusted. Liz tells him she doesn't believe a word that he says.

Courtney gets a visit from Coleman at her loft. He tells her he made some inquiries about Faith and feels he has to warn her that Faith is going to have her killed. Courtney goes to the hotel and stands outside Faith's room, which is locked. She pretends to be Faith's sister when a hotel employee walks by her room. He lets her in to wait for Faith. She searches the hotel room and is startled when a hand comes out and grabs her from behind and to keep her from screaming. It turns out to be Jason. He asks her what she is doing there. Courtney explains her visit from Coleman. Jason tells her to let him handle Faith. They hear the door turning so he rushes them into the closet to hide. Faith comes into her room and makes a call to room service first. She makes another call to Ric. Ric isn't pleased she called him with Liz there. He tells her he will take care of Morgan and for her to do her own thing. He doesn't know that Liz overheard him talking to Faith. Faith notices something different about the closet in her room and pretends to be talking on the phone still while she gets her gun out of her purse on the bed. Jason tries to figure out who she is talking to and what it is about. Faith points the gun at the closet and shoots it several times with bullets.

Faith pretends to be still on the phone and grabs her gun and shoots her closet full of bullet holes. She approaches the closet and opens it up slowly. Jason is on the other side with a gun pointed at her head and he grabs her gun as well. Faith dares him to shoot her in front of Courtney. Jason has a hard time focusing with Courtney in the room. A hotel security guard bangs on the door, demanding they answer it. Jason motions to Courtney to answer the door while pushes Faith inside the bathroom at gunpoint. Courtney pretends to be her sister and that they were watching the movie "Scarface" and that they had it pretty loud. He questions her relationship to Faith until Jason makes Faith go help her get rid of the security guard. Jason tries to find out who her silent partner is but leaves without killing her. At the loft, Jason tells Courtney that he couldn't kill Faith in front of her because he was afraid she would start to think badly of him. Courtney tries to reassure him that she doesn't mind what he has to do since he is protecting her brother and his family. Jason thanks her for saying that but leaves her place.

At Kelly's, Ric tried to be sociable with Carly and Courtney, but they both told him off. He went and sat with Elizabeth, who was flattered by but suspicious of his fascination with her. She asked him if he really cared about her because she didn't want to get hurt again. Ric told her that caring about someone was by nature a risk but that he would never deliberately hurt her. Jason told Sonny about the shooting in Faith's apartment. Jason begged Sonny for the order to take out Faith. Sonny insisted that they wait. Jason kidnapped Faith on the docks. Courtney was shocked to witness it on her way home from work. Faith told Jason that if he killed her, Courtney would always remember seeing him take her and would never look at him the same. Sonny staged an argument with one of his men over Jason's actions, trying to expose Ric as Faith's partner. Ric tried to hide his concern when Sonny said Jason would force Faith to surrender the name of her partner.

Courtney, knowing Carly's secret anxiety, went to the hospital to support Carly through getting the amniocentesis. Carly admitted to Courtney that she didn't know what she'd do if the baby proved to be Ric's. Sonny arrived at the hospital and was pleased to find Courtney keeping Carly company as they awaited the test results. Sonny reassured Carly that the baby was fine. Out in the hall, Courtney told Sonny that she hoped he'd live up to the image Carly and Jason had of him and told him how much they cared about him. Sonny had to go and Carly, worried that he would find out about the paternity test, told him she was fine. Dr. Meadows told Carly that the amnio had shown a healthy baby. She handed Carly the folder with the paternity test results. Courtney encouraged Carly to open them up and find out. Carly hesitated. Carly is elated when Courtney reports that the paternity tests reveal that Sonny is the father of Carly's baby. Carly fills Courtney in on the ups and downs of Carly's relationship with Sonny and then insists that Carly must tell Sonny about her night with Ric so that Sonny will know just how dangerous Ric really is.

Faith implored Jason to let her go, insisting that Courtney would hate him if he killed her. Jason informed Faith that he wasn't going to kill her, that her silent partner would. He revealed that the kidnapping was a plan to flush out her partner, who would undoubtedly come. He tied her to a chair in front of the window. Jason moves Faith to a new Safe House. Faith tries to appeal to Jason's humanity as she begs for her life. Faith warns Jason that the Police will suspect Jason if Faith disappears, since the Police already know that Jason has been hassling Faith. Then Faith reminds Jason that Courtney saw Jason drag Faith away and will know that Jason pulled the trigger if Faith disappears. Faith offers Jason some Mattress Tag, then reminds Jason that even a condemned criminal gets a last meal and a chance to have a priest come in to say a final prayer. When the phone rings, Faith believes it is Sonny with the order to kill her, but Jason discovers that it is Courtney calling. Courtney tells Jason that Sonny is in with Carly at the Hospital and that Courtney believes that Jason should be there as well. Jason suddenly leaves and orders Marco to keep an eye on Faith.

Carly's fears are alleviated when Sonny believes her about being drugged and Ric taking advantage. Jason arrives shortly after Carly has told Sonny and Sonny tells Jason to go ahead and get rid of Faith but to let Sonny deal with Ric personally. Jason returns to the Safe House where Faith has been stashed, dismisses the guard and prepares to whack a protesting Faith. When Sonny returns to the Safe House where he left Ric stashed, Sonny discovers that his guard is dead, and that Ric is missing. Sonny calls Jason while he is holding Faith in a halfway house. Faith thinks the phone call is the go ahead for Jason to kill her. Jason has her tied up in a chair and gagged. Sonny tells Jason not to kill Faith and explains over the phone that Ric escaped and killed one of their men. He tells him that they need Faith to tell them where Ric could be hiding. Jason drags Courtney, chair and all to the other halfway house room where Sonny is waiting. She panics when she sees Sonny and thinks he is going to kill her himself. Sonny demands to know everything that Ric has told her since they have been partners and gives her twenty-four hours to do it. Sonny tells Jason that Ric raped Carly and made her think she was coming on to him and wouldn't let him leave without having sex with her and then blackmailed her. Jason is stunned by this news. Sonny tells him that after he gets done with Ric, he will be begging to be dead. Jason goes to Liz's studio and asks her to let him in. He asks her if she has seen Ric but she lies and tells him she hasn't. Jason finds a bloody bandage in the sink and realizes she is lying. He surprises her when he asks her if she is willing to protect a rapist. Liz doesn't believe him and thinks he is using her rape experience to get her to turn on Ric. She kicks him out and refuses to tell him anything. Jason is surprised she would think of him so badly but he leaves. He waits outside her studio and calls one of the men to follow Liz, hoping she will lead them to Ric. Carly gets her release from Dr. Meadows after her amnio is finished. Courtney takes her home and offers to stay with her until Sonny gets home. Carly tells her she will be fine alone.

Ric hides in the trees outside of Kelly's. He sees that Liz is inside Kelly's. She is working while Courtney is sitting at the counter. He calls Liz on the phone and asks her if she is able to do what he asked of her earlier. Liz pretends that she is talking to her grandmother when she sees that Courtney can hear her. Courtney watches her behavior and gets suspicious. Liz tells Ric he can count on her and leaves with a big bag of food. Courtney remarks to her that her grandmother must have a big appetite with all that food she is bringing her. Liz is annoyed by Courtney's nosiness and tells her, her grandmother is sick and she is bringing some food for her to stock up on at home. Courtney waits for Liz to leave and follows her at a distance. Sonny's bodyguard, Max, tells her he will follow Liz and for her to stay behind.

Jason finds some files with a picture of woman in it from Ric's desk at his place. He brings the information to Sonny. Sonny realizes that Ric is obsessed with his life for some reason and that Faith might know why. Carly comes downstairs and realizes that Jason now knows about what Ric did to her that night. Jason tells Sonny that he has someone tracking Liz's movements and that he suspects that she will lead them to Ric eventually. Jason gets a call from Max telling him where Liz is. Jason goes to the park and finds Liz talking to some man that isn't Ric. Jason tells the man to leave and accuses Liz of using the man as a decoy to allow Ric to escape. The man is insulted with Liz and leaves. Jason asks Liz how far she will go to protect a rapist. Liz doesn't believe him and tells him she will protect Ric if she wants if it means keeping him from being killed by Sonny. Jason tells her that Ric hasn't called the police, which means he is hiding something. Liz doesn't like it that Jason has a good point and listens. Liz tells him she doesn't know where Ric is and that she is telling him the truth. Courtney goes to Ric's new apartment and finds the door opened. She comes in and looks around. She picks up the phone. Ric grabs her and pulls a gun on her. Courtney tells him he can't run from Jason and Sonny and that Sonny knows that he raped Carly. Ric makes a remark about Sonny always getting what he wants and not deserving a loving family. Courtney waits until Ric is at a disadvantage when he goes to close the door and hold the gun on her at the same time. Courtney takes him by surprise and attacks him. She punches him and knocks him to the floor. She runs to the phone and calls Jason. Ric comes up behind her and grabs her. She manages to tell Jason where she is before the phone is cut off.

Jason shows up and draws his gun. Ric is there waiting for him and points the gun at him and tells him to hold it. Jason sees that Courtney is tied up in a chair and gagged. Ric held Jason at gunpoint, threatening to shoot a tied-up Courtney if he did not drop his gun. Jason released his gun. Ric ordered Jason to tell Sonny to go to Martha's Vineyard and then knocked him unconscious. Sonny broke into Ric's apartment, finding Jason unconscious on the floor. Jason awoke and told Sonny that Ric had Courtney. Jason asked Sonny what significance Martha's Vineyard had. Sonny recognized the house in the painting and had flashbacks of time spent there with his mother as a boy. Jason wanted to go after Ric and Courtney, but Sonny insisted on going alone, fearful that Jason would only get Courtney killed. Ric called Sonny and told him that Courtney was hidden somewhere that only Ric could find.

Jason demanded that Elizabeth tell him where Ric would have taken Courtney. Elizabeth refused to believe that Ric would have kidnapped Courtney or raped Carly, but she told Jason that she didn't know where he would go anyway. Jason told her to leave. Jason and Carly went through the file Jason had found in Ric's apartment. Jason found several papers about mines that Ric's family owned, and suspected that Ric may have taken her to an un-numbered mine called "Adella".." He went there and found Courtney on the ground, knocked unconscious from a fall while trying to climb out. She awoke, thrilled to find that Jason had come to her rescue. She told him she was okay but very sore. Suddenly the walls started to crumble and fall on top of them.

Sonny arrived at the house on Martha's Vineyard. Ric came up behind him with a gun, and held him at gunpoint. Sonny remembered that his mother fell down the stairs after struggling with him to put on a jacket. Ric told Sonny that Ric's father was Adella's boss. As Ric started talking about Adella, Sonny became angry and managed to wrestle the gun away from Ric. Ric told Sonny that they are brothers.

In the abandoned mine shaft, Jason pulls Courtney to safety only minutes before the shaft collapses. Once Courtney and Jason are above-ground, Courtney admits that she has pain in her ribs and Jason insists that Courtney rush to the Hospital. Later, at the Hospital, Carly joins Jason and Courtney and reports that she has not heard from Sonny, so Jason rushes away to the Lansing Summer cottage. Carly promises to stay with Courtney.

At the Lansing Summer Cottage, Sonny cocks his gun, but is not able to pull the trigger. Jason suddenly arrives and asks Sonny what is going on and why he hasn't shot Ric yet? Sonny tells him that Ric is his brother and that he can't shoot him despite what he has done to them. Jason is in disbelief about that information and pulls him gun on Ric. Jason declares: "He isn't mine!" and cocks his gun at Ric's head. From a distance away, a gunshot is heard at the cottage! In the next episode, as Jason is about to shoot Ric, Sonny pushes Jason away before he can do it and the gun goes off in the other direction. Jason grabs Ric and puts him in a choke hold on the chair. Sonny orders him to leave Ric alone and not kill him. Jason hesitates but lets him go. Jason asks Sonny why he is letting him go. Sonny tells him he can't kill Ric even if he did rape Carly and kidnap Courtney and let her almost die. Ric denied raping Carly and that he just wanted her to think they had sex so he could blackmail her. Sonny relays that information to Jason, who doesn't know what to believe about Ric. Ric leaves. Sonny explains about how Ric is supposed to be his brother and how Sonny thinks it is probably true since he is starting to have recollections of what happened at this house when he was a young boy. He remembers that Ric's father Trevor hated him and wanted Sonny's mother to choose between her two sons. She chose Sonny over Ric, and Ric hates him for it because of how her life turned out with Deke later. Sonny tells Jason that he can't kill Ric because he is his mother's child and that he loved his mother enough not to do that in honor of her memory. Jason understands but still feels that he should take care of him himself. Sonny tells him he can't do that and that they will just have to stop him another way and protect their family.

Jason returns home and brings flowers to Courtney at GH. Carly had stayed with Courtney until she told her to go home. Courtney gets a visit from Liz at GH. Liz asks her how she is and is pleasant to her. Courtney doesn't know why she is there at first. Liz tells her that she talked to Ric earlier and Courtney assumes that Liz believed every excuse Ric told her and asks her how he explained what he did to her. Liz cuts her off and tells her that Ric has been lying to her and she came to see her to get the truth. Courtney explains to her what happened and tells her that Ric is Sonny's brother and that he has been working for Sonny so he can get his revenge on him and destroy him. Liz is shocked by this news but realizes it explains so much about Ric and his actions. Meanwhile, Coleman asks one of the waitresses at Kelly's if Courtney is working today. She tells him that Courtney is in the hospital but doesn't know what for. Coleman heads to the hospital to talk to her. He brings her a bouquet of flowers. Courtney asks him what he wants with her. He asks her what happened. She tells him that Ric kidnapped her and that she fell and bruised her ribs. He tells her he came to tell her about something that she can use as leverage against Ric. He confesses to her that the night Carly was drugged and Ric came and "rescued" her from Fowler, he followed them out of the bar to a motel. He watched through a window as Ric held Carly down on the bed and waited until she passed out and started to undress her. Courtney is disgusted that Coleman sat there and watched while Ric raped Carly and did nothing about it. Coleman tells her that he doesn't condone rape and was about to call 911 but then he noticed that Ric only undressed her and put her into bed and then pulled up two chairs and laid down and watched her sleep and didn't touch her. Courtney realizes that Ric didn't rape Carly after all like they thought. Coleman tells her that he blackmailed Ric to not reveal to Carly what he witnessed not happening and that Ric paid him without question.

Sonny goes to see Courtney at GH. He stops her from getting totally out of bed to get dressed. She tells him about Coleman's visit and what he revealed about Ric not raping Carly only undressing her and making her think they had sex. Scott went to the hospital to question Courtney. Courtney gave him her statement, telling him that Ric had kidnapped her and trapped her in a mine shaft. Scott implied that Jason had hurt Courtney, trying to get her angry enough to give up information on Jason and Sonny. Courtney resisted and demanded that he arrest Ric, but Scott told her that she was "well-trained" in avoiding questions just as Sonny, Jason, and Carly were.

At GH, Jason held Courtney in her hospital bed and promised that they were back together. Over at the penthouse, Taggert arrives to take Sonny in for questioning. He told Sonny that everything he owned was being searched at that moment. Sonny agreed to go but made a cryptic phone call to Jason before leaving. Taggert and company burst into one of Sonny's offices to find Jason smashing a disk. Jason managed to destroy it before the police grabbed a hold of him (rendering all the hard drives worthless to the police). Jason left suddenly after receiving the call from Sonny. Courtney was released from the hospital and was packing her things when Carly arrived. Carly told Courtney she wanted Courtney and Jason back together again, but Carly admitted that it would still be difficult for Sonny to accept. Coming up with what she perceives as the perfect plan, Carly insists that Courtney and Jason must get married, that Sonny was deeply religious and would have to honor their marriage if they were married in a Catholic church. Courtney told Carly the although she loved Jason, she wasn't about to ask him to marry her, and certainly not yet. Carly wouldn't back down and offered to put a bug in Jason's ear to ask Carly. She explained that although he might not think of it own his own, that he loved Courtney deeply and would definitely marry her. Courtney begged Carly not to do anything to embarrass her. Carly sent Jason an emergency page and to met up with him.

Courtney left to buy groceries. On her way back she overheard Faith and Ric on the docks, discussing framing Jason for Fowler's murder, which Ric was guilty of. Faith hears a noise on the docks. After Ric left, Faith found Courtney's hospital ID bracelet on the ground nearby and realizes Courtney was listening in and overheard their plans. Courtney ran off to tell Jason. Faith takes off in her car and runs Courtney down as she is crossing the street right to meet Jason and Carly. As Faith drives away, Jason notes the license plate number. Jason call 911 and accompanies Courtney to the Hospital. When Mac arrives on the scene, Jason describes the car and gives Mac the license plate number. As the Emergency Team arrives at the Hospital, Carly explains the accident to Bobbie. When Alan orders Bobbie to page Monica, Alan is surprised when Bobbie reports that Monica signed out to deal with a surgery at Mercy Hospital!

Sonny receives a call from Jason, informing Sonny about Courtney's accident. Shortly after Sonny arrives at the Hospital and learns about Courtney's injuries, Mike also arrives and immediately guesses that Courtney was deliberately hit by someone trying to send a message to either Sonny or Jason. Mike angrily reminds Sonny that, a year ago, Courtney would not have anything to do with Sonny, and if both Sonny and Jason had stayed out of Courtney's life, none of the recent threats to Courtney's life would have ever happened! Later, Sonny confides to Jason that he believes that Mike is right about Courtney becoming a target because of her relationship to Sonny, but Jason insists that none of it is Sonny's fault. Jason reports to Sonny that, before Courtney lost consciousness, she said she had something to tell Jason and Carly. Sonny wonders if someone needed to shut Courtney up!

When Jason suggests that Ric is the only one who would come to mind, Sonny reports that Sonny was with Ric when Sonny received the report about Courtney's accident, so Ric could not have been driving the car! Meanwhile, Carly attempts to reassure Mike that Courtney will be okay. At the same time, in his apartment, Ric listens to the TV report about Courtney's accident just as Faith barges in! Faith arrogantly informs Ric that Faith believed that Courtney overheard part of their plan to frame Jason, and saved Ric's life by silencing the girl. Ric calls the hospital and instructs Faith to impersonate Courtney's distraught mother. Faith learns that Courtney is alive but unconscious. Faith warns Ric that if Courtney wakes up and talks, it is Ric who will suffer the most from the fall out!

Jason is annoyed when he learns that Tony is the neurosurgeon who has been assigned to Courtney's case. Tony informs Jason that Jason has no choice in the matter if Jason wants Courtney to receive the best care possible. Tony reports that Courtney will probably be okay but will need to stay in the Hospital under observation for a few days. Mike leaves to call Courtney's mother to inform her about the most recent accident which has befallen their daughter. At the same time, Mac arrives to report that the Police found the car being driven by Courtney's assailant, but discovered the car has no registration and there were no witnesses who saw someone push the car into the lake, where it was found. Courtney regains consciousness and mistakes Ric for Jason. As Courtney begins to warn Jason that Faith and Ric have something on him, she realizes that she is speaking To Ric. Ric tells Courtney that he is sorry she heard that! He tells her that she will not be telling Jason and Sonny anything because he has physical evidence he can use against Jason if he has to pin him for the murder of Fowler. He blackmails her with the information.

Jason, Sonny, and Mike ask Mac if he found out anything on the car that was fished out of the lake that matched with the car that ran over Courtney. Mac tells them that the car had no fingerprints, no registration, or anything. He tells Sonny that he will do what he can in the investigation and asks Mike to fill out some forms for him. Jason knows Ric had something to do with Courtney's hit and run. He sits with Carly while Sonny goes in to see Courtney. Carly suggests that Jason marry Courtney as quick as possible. Jason tells her he needs her to stop discussing marriage to him and just to sit and be quiet for him. Sonny notices that Courtney is crying and asks her what is wrong. He asks her if she remembers anything about the accident and if she remembers seeing who hit her with the car. She lies and tells him she didn't see anything because it happened too fast. Jason comes in to see her and Sonny leaves them alone. Jason talks to her about their relationship and tells her that he can't lose her. She tells him she loves him too.

Ric pays a visit to Courtney in her hospital room as she is about to be released from the hospital. Rick shows her a document that shows where the evidence is hiding in the Rick Fowler murder and how it all ties to Jason as the killer. He tells her that if he suddenly disappears or is killed by Jason, the information will reach Scott Baldwin and Jason will go to prison for murder. He tells her that in exchange for keeping her mouth shut with what she knows, he has provided her the location of the evidence he planted to frame Jason. Sonny shows up at her room and tells Ric to stay away from his sister. Ric points out that Courtney is sort of his sister and wants to get to know her better and came to see how she was doing. Sonny doesn't buy it and points out that Courtney is not his sister and that she is only his sister by blood. Ric leaves after Sonny warns him to stay away from his sister. Sonny asks her what he wanted with her. Courtney lies and tells him that Ric is just being his twisted self by pretending he cares what happens to her. Sonny leaves it alone. Courtney is anxious to leave GH and go home. She tells him that she and Jason love each other and want to stay together.

Meanwhile, Carly gets Jason to come to Courtney's apartment. Carly tells him she called so she could talk to him alone before Courtney comes home and reassures him that Sonny is bringing Courtney home and the four of them are having dinner at the apartment. Carly also uses their time alone to convince him to stage some marriage proposal to Courtney. Jason refuses to agree to one of her crazy plans and tells her he isn't against marriage. Carly brings up his hasty marriage to Brenda. He reminds her he married Brenda to keep her away from her marriage to Sonny. Carly still pushes and tries to get Jason to propose marriage to Courtney. Jason tells her he will propose to her when he feels like it and not right now. Courtney comes in the door without Sonny. Jason panics that something happened. Courtney tells them that Sonny is in the car talking on the phone and will be right in after. Courtney realizes that Carly is up to something and asks Jason if Carly is trying to marry them off still. Jason tells her that Carly is trying to get him to propose and that he will do that when he wants to. Sonny comes in and finds them talking. Sonny seems relaxed enough and asks what is for dinner. Courtney tells Carly when they are alone, that she wants her to stop trying to get Jason or her to propose to each other and that she will marry Jason someday probably but not now. Sonny talks to Jason about Ric's visit to Courtney's room and how he doesn't think Ric can really do anything to them and succeed. Jason wants to find out what he is up to and stop him from hurting Courtney. Later, Carly and Sonny are in bed talking. Sonny doesn't feel threatened by Ric anymore and tells Carly that he can't do anything to them. Carly isn't so reassured by that. Jason asks Courtney what Ric said to her at her hospital room. She is evasive and tells him that Ric is just a twisted man and that he is just trying to get to Sonny by upsetting her. She doesn't tell him anything about what she knows.

Courtney and Michael played with Rosie in the park. Jason arrived, and Michael obviously prompted by Carly, asked questions about when Jason was going to buy Courtney a diamond ring and when they were going to be married. Embarrassed, Jason tried to explain to Michael that sometimes people wait to get married. Michael then asked when they were going to have a baby. Jason told Michael that a baby was even more responsibility than a dog, so that it would be some time before that happened. Once out of Michael's earshot, Jason and Courtney discussed their plans for the future. Courtney admitted she was nowhere near ready for a baby, but they both confessed that they wanted a child someday. Jason got a call and had to leave. Ric interrupted Courtney and Michael to offer Michael a ride in his sports car sometime. Courtney was relieved when Sonny walked up. After Courtney and Michael left, Sonny told Ric to stay away from Michael. Ric insisted that he was family and Sonny couldn't deny it. Sonny retorted by saying that Jason was his brother, that Ric was nothing to him. At the penthouse, Jason asked Carly why she had filled Michael's head with ideas about his and Courtney's future. Carly defended her actions, insisting that he needed her to prod him into action. Jason asked her once again to back off. Sonny returned home and overhead Carly pressing Jason to ask Courtney to marry him. Back at the park, Ric caught up with Courtney again and presented her with a huge diamond ring. Courtney told Ric she hated him and would never consider marrying him, but Ric told her she would do what he asked.

Disgusted by Ric's plan to marry her, Courtney wanted to throw the ring but thought better of it, worried that Ric would make good on his threat to frame Jason for Fowler's murder. At the penthouse, Sonny interrupted Carly pressuring Jason to propose to Courtney. Jason left, and Sonny told Carly that she had to stop interfering in their lives. Sonny went across the hall to speak with Jason alone. Jason told Sonny that he loved Courtney and planned to propose to her on his own. Sonny told Jason that he did not object. Carly was thrilled when Sonny told her that he had given Jason his blessing and that Jason was going to ask Courtney to marry him. Carly brought flowers to Jason's suite and insisted that he practice his proposal. Carly explained that she cared for Jason and Courtney and only wanted them to be happy as she and Sonny were. Jason reassured her that he had his own plan and convinced her to back off. Courtney arrives, Jason asks Courtney to marry him and she joyfully accepts. Then Courtney explains to Jason that Ric has the tire iron that killed Fowler with Jason's fingerprints on it and will turn the tire iron over to the District Attorney unless Courtney agrees to marry Ric. Jason tells Courtney that they need to find the tire iron before Ric uses it. Courtney argues that she will lead Ric on and let him believe that Courtney will go along with the engagement in order to give Jason some time to find the tire iron. Jason agrees only so long as Courtney meets Ric in public places. After Courtney leaves to meet Ric, Jason finds out that Sonny has taken Carly to the island. When Courtney arrives in the Park, she comes across a weeping Elizabeth. When Courtney asks if Liz needs help, Elizabeth retorts: "First Jason and now Ric!" and slaps Courtney. Liz declares that she plans to fall for the first guy she trips over tonight so Courtney can run after Liz and snap up that guy as well! Courtney protests that Ric doesn't act like a guy who truly cares about Liz. But Liz refuses to listen and storms away. Courtney meets with Ric in the park, Jason tries to alert Sonny about the situation with Ric. Courtney informs Ric that the marriage will be in name only no sex! Ric agrees!

Courtney persuades Jason to let her pretend she is accepting her engagement to Ric to buy them some time so they can find out where Ric is hiding the tire iron he is using to set Jason up for Fowler's murder. Jason doesn't like putting her in potential danger but agrees. Courtney tells him she needs to do this for him. Jason tries to call Sonny on his cell phone but with no answer. He is frustrated when he can't reach him to warn him of their plan ahead of time.

Sonny and Carly return home from their little getaway. Carly is anxious to call Jason to find out if he proposed to Courtney and what her answer was. There is a knock on the door just as Carly picks up the phone to call Jason. Sonny guesses that it could be Jason and Courtney right now to tell them about their engagement. They are disappointed when Ric is at the door and lets himself in. He tells them he has some news to tell them. Ric tells them that he and Courtney are engaged to be married. Carly and Sonny accuse him of being crazy and Carly tells Ric that Jason is marrying Courtney not him. Ric tells her that Courtney is already wearing his ring and that he is going to marry her. Sonny tells him that he is getting desperate now and to stop playing games and refuses to let Courtney anywhere near him. Courtney comes in the room and tells Sonny that Ric is telling them the truth. Sonny and Carly ask her what he has on her to have her agree to marry him. Courtney lies and tells Sonny that he was right about Jason not being the man for her and that she realizes she needs someone like Ric in her life instead. Carly watches in disbelief and disappointment when Jason comes in and asks Courtney if she told them already. Carly tells Courtney off for hurting Jason and pretending to be her friend. Courtney feels bad but doesn't have an answer for her. Ric tells Courtney that he has to go and tells her to walk out with him and he will have her dropped off at home. Sonny objects to Ric taking Courtney away from them alone. Courtney tells him she is going with Ric. Ric acts all polite to Carly and tells her he hopes she will accept their marriage someday.

After they leave, Sonny asks Jason if he wants this. Jason explains to them that Courtney is going along with this engagement to buy them some time until they can find the tire iron that Ric has to frame him for murder and explains about Ric blackmailing Courtney to get her to marry him. Sonny tells them that Ric is getting more desperate and that he has just the plan to stop him. Sonny asks Jason if he thinks he could go to jail for this. Carly believes it could happen if that fake evidence gets into Scott's hands. Courtney waits at the park for Ric. Jason catches up to her there to go over the plan. Courtney gets nervous with him being there when Ric is expected. Ric sees them talking but doesn't know what they are saying. Jason takes off. Ric comes up to her and makes a remark. Courtney looks at him with cold eyes. Jason calls Sonny while watching them from the bushes. Sonny gives Jason the go-ahead for their plan.

Ric talks to Courtney about their engagement and starts to come on to her. Courtney pulls away from him but agrees to go to his apartment with him. Jason watches from the bushes. He calls Sonny to give him an update. Ric takes Courtney back to his place and starts to come on to her. Courtney fights off his advances. Ric takes the tire iron out of its hiding place and tells Courtney that he overheard her talking to Jason about the evidence he has on him. He tells her that she blew it and calls Scott and asks him to come over because he has evidence to prove that Jason is a murderer. Courtney tries to distract him to grab the tire iron on the desk. Ric grabs it away from her and starts to get a little rough with her. Jason comes in and points a gun at Ric, telling him to hand over the tire iron or he will shoot him. Ric tells him that the police are already on their way and that shooting him will just get him charged with murder. Scott and the police show up and bang on the door. Ric doesn't answer them at first. Jason grabs the tire iron and takes off without Courtney. Scott and the cops barge in and ask Ric where the evidence is. Ric tells them that Jason just came there and pulled a gun on him and took off with the evidence out the back way. The cops go looking for Jason but return with no sign of Jason or the evidence. Courtney tells Scott that there is no evidence and that Ric is setting up Jason to get revenge against him and Sonny. Sonny shows up to tell Scott to arrest Ric for setting him and Jason up and for wasting the cops time by setting up false government documents and a false raid. Scott isn't too happy with Ric and warns him not to waste any more of his time and that he better have solid evidence next time or he will have him arrested. Scott refuses to arrest Ric on Sonny's say so. Scott takes off with the cops. Sonny tells Courtney to go back home and he will handle Ric. Courtney takes off the ring and throws it at Ric. Sonny asks Ric why he is trying to get revenge against him when it doesn't work and suggests Ric concentrate on his own personal life and be with Liz if he loves her instead of wasting his life trying to get back at him because of some choice their mother made 30 years ago. Ric warns him not to mention Liz to him right now. Sonny takes off.

At the park, Courtney meets with Jason. Jason tells her he got rid of the fake evidence and the two get back to being a couple again. He asks her to marry him again and she tells him yes. At the hospital, Jason told Mac that he nor Sonny had anything to do with the Ecstasy which Maxie got hold of, but promised Mac he intends to get to the bottom of it. Mac told Jason that he'll "look the other way" if Jason finds out who sold the drugs and deals with them. When Courtney questioned Maxie in her room, Georgie tried to blame Kyle, but Maxie spoke up, saying it was Zach who gave her the Ecstasy, and told Courtney not to tell Mac or Jason. Courtney later gave Jason Zach's and Kyle's names, then stayed and gave a pep talk to Maxie. After Jason tracked down Kyle and Zach, he held a gun on them. Zach admitted giving Maxie the Ecstasy, and when Jason pressed further, Zach told him the drugs were bought off a guy named "Angry John". After Jason warned them about selling drugs on Sonny's turf, he told them to go, then later found Zander and asked him to find out where "Angry John" received his drugs from. Zander agreed to look into it, but made Jason promise to find out what's really going on with Emily. Jason later told Courtney that he thinks that the drug presence at "The Cellar" was a warning from someone. Later, Sonny, Carly and Michael left their building. In a happy mood, they were about to approach their limousine when an explosion rocked the area. The family dove for cover! At the Penthouse, Sonny orders Jason to take Courtney, Carly and Michael to the island for safety, but Jason is reluctant to go. When Sonny confides that he suspects that Ric was behind the bombing of Sonny's car, Jason urges Sonny to wait until he has facts before making any kind of move on Ric. Sonny insists that he needs to know his family is safe and the only person he can trust with that job is Jason, and Sonny orders Jason to go with Carly and Michael. After Jason leaves with Courtney, Carly and Michael, Sonny orders his men to pick Ric up and bring him to the Penthouse. Jason arrives on the island with Carly, Michael and Courtney in tow, Carly tries to convince Jason to return to Port Charles to help Sonny but Jason refuses. Later, as Courtney and Jason talk on the beach, Carly assures Michael that they are all 100% safe on the island. However, at the same time, two black-clad men quietly enter the house through a window.

Carly and Michael hang out in their hotel room on the island. Two men with guns hang around outside and spy on them. Carly and Michael go to change for the beach to meet Courtney and Jason. The men wait and storm inside the room while Carly and Michael are in the bedroom. Jason and Courtney come back and find no sign of them around the beach. Jason starts to get worried about them and then he hears a sound and sees the men leaving the room quickly. Jason takes out his gun and orders Courtney to lay on the ground and he storms into the room to catch them and see the men rush out of the room. Jason hollers out to Carly and Michael. Carly comes out and jumps when she sees Jason with his gun out. She tells him she didn't hear or see any men come into their cabana and that she just put Michael down for a nap instead of going to the beach. Jason goes out and can't catch up to the men in time. He comes back in and tells Carly that the men came inside her room for a reason and that it could be a bomb for all they know. He makes Courtney take Carly and Michael out of the cabana and assures them he will meet up with them later outside the hotel. Jason stays behind and looks around for any hint of something planted there. He looks behind a picture frame and finds bags of cocaine or heroin taped to the back of it. Some DEA agents show up and bang on the door for it to be opened up. Jason realizes he was being set up. The DEA agents knock down the door minutes later to find Jason laying on the couch with headphones on, reading a magazine. They ask him why he didn't let him in and he tells them he didn't hear them. He admits that he is business partners with Sonny and they guess who he is. They tell him that they got a call that some drugs were being dropped here at this cabana. Jason feigns ignorance and watches as one of the agents looks behind the picture frame and finds no drugs. Jason gets a call from Sonny, telling him that he doesn't think Ric had anything to do with the car bombing or the drug selling at Carly's club. Jason fills him in on what happened with the DEA and how he managed to flush the drugs down the toilet before the agents burst through the door. Sonny tells him that they have to find out who is behind all this quick. Later, Jason, Courtney, Carly, and Michael return home. Carly takes Michael and Courtney into the kitchen so Jason and Sonny could talk. Sonny tells him about the anonymous phone call and that someone wants them to go down.

Sonny tries to find out who was behind the drug set-up. He sends Jason out to find out what he can. Jason meets with Zander, who confirms that the drugs came from Miami but he doesn't know who the dealer or seller is right now. Later, Carly goes across the hall and sees Jason give some man an envelope of money. She asks him what is going on and who the man is. Jason tells her it is nothing she needs to know which worries her and she starts to hound him about keeping secrets from her that could concern Sonny's welfare. Jason interrupts her and explains that the man was a jeweler and that he ordered a ring for Courtney. Carly is excited for him and hugs him. They go back across the hall again. Courtney goes back to their place again when Jason concludes his business with Sonny for a while.

Shortly after Sonny leaves for a meeting, Courtney smuggles in some potato chips for Carly and the two talk about the danger in the business their men are in. Ric shows up looking for Sonny. He tells them that he married Liz last night and that he wanted Sonny to know that. Carly tells him that Sonny is meeting with Liz right now (this is when Faith pushes her down the stairs and she loses the baby). Jason returns to his apartment and surprises Courtney with an engagement ring after she tells him that she can accept his dangerous life as long as she can be with him. She loves the ring and he puts on her finger and the two kiss. Jason and Courtney spent time talking about wedding plans.

Later, a man approached Jason and held out a suitcase containing a million dollars in cash, and told Jason it's a down payment for a job he wants Sonny and Jason to perform. Jason slammed shut the lid of the suitcase containing a million dollars and shoved the courier into the elevator, telling the guy that he and Sonny don't work for anyone. Jason then left a message on Sonny's phone. An injured Zander showed up at Jason's. The bullet had only grazed him, but Jason insisted Zander go to the hospital. Zander told Jason that John ran off after the shooting and that the drug lord from Miami is about to make some waves. After the paramedics rushed in, Scott burst in and told Zander he was under arrest for the murder of John Monroe! Zander denied killing John after Scott informed him that John was found lying face-down on the docks with a bullet in his back. Scott ordered Zander be taken to General Hospital under police guard. Later, at the hospital, as Scott was browbeating Zander, Emily arrived and stood up to Scott, telling him not to railroad Zander. Jason told Sonny that John Monroe was likely killed before he could give Sonny information about his supplier. Just then, the phone rang: it was the mysterious drug lord from Miami, who'd already heard that Jason had refused the million dollars. After Sonny got on the phone, the drug lord arranged a meeting with Sonny and Jason for the next day.

In spite of Sonny's orders to the contrary, Carly grabs Courtney and announces that Carly nearly has Jason and Courtney's wedding all planned for them! But, when Carly and Courtney ask Mike to walk Courtney down the aisle, they are shocked when Mike refuses because Jason has never formally asked Mike's permission to marry Courtney! After Carly and Courtney let Jason know about Mike's objections, Jason goes to Mike and makes a formal request to marry Courtney. Mike agrees to Jason's request. Later, Jason and Sonny meet with the Miami representatives, who show up with guns drawn. When Sonny realizes that he is dealing with an underling, Sonny declares that he will negotiate only with the head man of the Miami organization! Sonny and Jason confront a drug dealer. They ask him where his boss is and that they only are interested in meeting with his boss face to face and tell him to tell his boss that if anymore things happen to them they will retaliate against him and his people. The drug dealer calls his boss with an update. As Sonny and Jason are talking to the drug dealer, Carly calls him on his cell-phone. She tells him to come home right away and not to ask any more questions. Sonny becomes alarmed at her tone and tells Jason they need to head home pronto. They get there to find Carly and Courtney talking to some strange man. They pulled out their guns before they came into the penthouse and scare the strange man. Carly explains that they are in no danger and that the man is Courtney's wedding dress coordinator. Sonny scolds Carly for calling him like that and acting like it was an emergency when it wasn't. Carly apologizes for calling him like that but that she needed him to come soon. Carly explains that she wants Sonny to pick out the wedding gown for Courtney since he has great taste and that it will be a great bonding experience for him and Courtney to have. Sonny reluctantly agrees to it when he sees how hopeful Courtney looks for his agreement.

Carly tells Jason that someone is coming over to his place to help him try on tuxedos and that she will go with him to help him pick the right one for the wedding. Jason doesn't like that idea but agrees to go along for Courtney's sake. Sonny watches Courtney try on an array of wedding gowns but doesn't like any of them and Courtney doesn't either. Sonny orders the dresser to draw another gown on his sketch pad that he thinks will look good. The wedding gown designer sketches a gown and shows it to them and is nervous for Sonny's reaction. Sonny likes the design and so does Courtney. Courtney worries that a custom designed dress will be too expensive but Sonny tells her he will pay for whatever dress she wants as long as it makes her happy. Courtney hugs Sonny warmly. Carly gives thumbs up and thumbs down to some of the tuxedos and gives her approval for a simple classic tuxedo. Later, Courtney and Jason exchange comments on their experiences with dressing up and picking out gowns. Jason tells her he didn't really like trying on tuxedo's but that he did it for her and it wasn't too bad.

Sonny gets a call from Sammy Tagliati, one of the mob men in the five families. He offers an invitation to Sonny. Sonny reluctantly agrees to a meeting but tells him that he is bringing Jason with him for protection. He tells Carly while they are in Kelly's that they have to get going. Jason and Courtney show up at the Quartermaines. Edward comes in to the foyer and starts to ask what Jason did now and who was murdered. Courtney starts to have second thoughts about coming there with him and having to deal with the family. Emily, Ned, and Skye come into the room. Emily gets sick of hearing Edward complain and tells him to be quiet and let Jason tell them his news. Jason tells them that he and Courtney are getting married. Everyone seems happy about it, even Edward a little bit. A.J. comes down the stairs after hearing the news and makes a scene, accusing the family of setting a double standard concerning him and Jason. Skye and Ned point out that A.J. doesn't deserve Courtney because of how he treated her. Dillon listens in and is amused by the quarrel and likes the looks of Courtney. Courtney and Jason leave the room and go talk to Lila to give her the news. A.J. rants about Courtney's betrayal by marrying Jason. The family points out to him where he went wrong with Courtney. Dillon finds out that Courtney was a stripper from A.J. Ned points out that she stripped to keep A.J. from going to prison. Dillon makes a remark about how he wouldn't mind watching someone as beautiful as Courtney strip. Edward scolds him for being inappropriate but Ned defends Dillon as being any other healthy teenage guy. Courtney and Jason come back in the room. Courtney ignores A.J. and invites Monica, Skye, and Emily to go to her bridal shower at Carly's even though it is last minute. They all agree to come.

At Carly's, the doorbell rings and it is Monica, Emily, and Skye. Carly treats Monica and Skye coldly but is nice to Emily. The doorbell rings again and it is three strippers from Coleman's old strip club where Courtney worked briefly. They are so excited to see her and Courtney allows them to stay when they give her gifts. They tell her that they found out from Coleman that she was having a bridal shower. They tell her some guy called Coleman to let him know she was getting married. They ask her who the groom is. She tells him it is Jason. The woman think Jason is a great catch. Carly starts to see the shower she planned going down the tubes slowly. Things go from bad to worse when Courtney's mother Janine shows up and makes a scene out in the hallway when Sonny's guard, Johnny refuses to let her in when he sees A.J. come off the elevator with her and announce he isn't staying but that she is here for the shower because she is the mother. Janine hollers from the hallway when Johnny tries to push her back on the elevator and she gets by him. Courtney allows her in but realizes her mother is drunk and that A.J. set up the whole thing to ruin her shower. Janine starts to question Courtney about the man she is marrying and asks her if he is rich. She sees that Monica, and Emily are there and is excited when she finds out that Courtney is marrying Monica's son. She asks Monica what Jason does for a living and how much he is worth. Monica tells her that Jason gave away his inheritance to Sonny, whom he is partners with. Janine has a fit about Courtney's fiance' and tells her that she will not allow her "baby" to marry a man who works for her "pig" of a brother.

Meanwhile, Jason and Sonny show up at the meeting place. They come with their bodyguards and pull out their guns for protection before entering the building in case it is a setup. They are surprised when the door opens and everyone says surprise to them and they realize that the five families are giving Jason a bachelor party to show their respect for his engagement to Courtney. Jason feels uncomfortable when Tagliati brings in some strippers to dance for him. Jason listens as Tagliati toasts the joining of Sonny and Jason's families into marriage. Jason tells Sonny he can't be around strippers after what Courtney went through as one with A.J. He sticks the strippers on a willing Mike. Jason returns later to find Janine going off about him being unsuitable to marry Courtney. He allows Janine to express her displeasure. She asks him for his bank statements and other proof that he can take care of Courtney in style. Courtney stops her mother and tells her she is going back over to her apartment with him. Carly kicks Janine out of her place. Jason brings Courtney to the church where they are getting married. He tells her that he wants to say his vows to her right now just the two of them alone before saying his vows in front of their friends and family and the priest. He tells her he will love her and be her husband forever. Courtney is touched and the two share a tender kiss.

Courtney apologized to Carly for how the bridal shower turned out. Carly told Courtney it was not her fault, and asked her only to help find the missing baby mobile that had mysteriously disappeared at Kelly's. Meanwhile, AJ paid Janine to convince Courtney not to marry Jason, reminding Janine that Jason had sacrificed a Quartermaine inheritance to work for Sonny. Janine burst into the penthouse, where Jason and Sonny were being fitted for their tuxes. Jason maintained that Courtney made her own choices and would be happy, but Janine would not let up. Finally Sonny lost his patience and offered her half a million dollars to leave everyone alone. Carly and Courtney walked in and asked her mother to stop interfering.

Jason and Sonny went to the warehouse to receive a coffee shipment. They opened the crate and found a bag of drugs embedded in the coffee. Sonny turned to Greg and demanded to know how much he had been paid to betray Sonny. Greg confessed that he had accepted a million dollars from the enemy in Miami. Jason and Sonny discussed a plan to flush out the mysterious enemy. Janine tried her best to talk Courtney out of marrying Jason, but Courtney would not back down. Sonny and Jason arrived and accused Janine of coming to town to make trouble at AJ's request. Janine pleaded with Courtney grabbed her by the arm. When Courtney pulled her arm away, Janine's purse fell to the floor and out fell the wad of cash that AJ had given her. Sonny calmly escorted a hysterical Janine out of the penthouse. Jason comforted Courtney, who was hurt by her mother's actions.

Carly reports to Courtney and Jason that Ric offered Carly a ride home and claimed it was a good-will gesture toward the truce that Ric and Sonny had agreed to observe. Jason scoffs at the possibility that Ric could have been telling the truth, then rushes out with the excuse that he needs to attend to something. After Jason leaves, Carly tells Courtney that Sonny should just let Jason go ahead and get rid of Ric! Later, Sonny confides to Jason that he grilled Faith and believes that Faith is now on her way to warn Ric. Unless Faith decides to take Sonny up on Sonny's plan to spy on Ric. Either way, Sonny declares confidently, Sonny will come out ahead. Sonny tells Jason that, since Ric has lost every time Ric has gone after Sonny, perhaps Ric really has learned his lesson and will leave Sonny alone. Jason admits that he harbors no such hope. Jason then reports to Sonny where Jason has hidden the drug shipment they intercepted in Sonny's coffee.

Meanwhile, at the Penthouse, as Carly and Courtney look through books of wedding invitations, Scott suddenly arrives. When Jason and Sonny return shortly afterward, Scott informs Sonny that the drugs on the street have dried up and that Scott suspects that Sonny took matters into his own hands and dealt with the drug problem. Scott announces that Carly's Club can now reopen, since the drugs seem to have disappeared! When Sonny appears less than grateful, Scott warns Sonny that, one day, it might be helpful to Sonny to have the District Attorney on Sonny's side! After Scott leaves, Jason and Sonny agree that they are suspicious of Scott's motives and they decide to delay re-opening the Club. However, as Jason and Sonny discuss re-opening the club, two men with badges and drawn guns suddenly barge in, announcing that they are Drug Enforcement Agents and declare that Jason and Sonny are under arrest! When Carly objects, the DEA agents threaten to run Carly in as an accomplice. The agents promise Sonny a plea bargain if the Crime Boss turns the drugs over to them. Sonny suddenly tells the DEA Agents where to find the drugs. After one of the agents leaves to check out Sonny's tip, Jason jumps the remaining agent and the gun goes off in the struggle As the DEA agent crumples to the floor, Sonny and Jason declare that it is all over but Carly and Courtney are worried that Jason is in even worse trouble now that he has shot a Federal agent! Sonny calmly announces that the 'agents' are impostors, because no real Federal agent would be authorized to offer any kind of plea bargain to a suspect! As the wounded 'agent' regains consciousness, Sonny demands to know the name of the boss that the 'agents' are working for ~ and the agent tells Sonny and Jason: "Alcazar!"

Sonny calls and gives orders to his men to increase security. He talks to Jason about what the fake DEA agent told them when he said "Alcazar" to them when they asked him who he was working for before Jason had to shoot and kill him in defense. Jason investigates and tells Sonny that Alcazar is dead. Sonny wonders what the man meant by "Alcazar" if he is dead. Sonny tells him that he is going to question someone he knows who worked for Alcazar and find out about a partner who worked with Alcazar. Sonny later tells Jason that Ric reported that Alcazar used to visit some place up in the mountains in South America. Jason is busy with working out details for work when Courtney tries to get his attention when he is on the phone. She tells him that someone is here to talk to them about the wedding and it is important for him to get off the phone. Jason makes some remark about not having time to talk to some "wedding hack." Jason is caught off guard when Carly invites the priest into the penthouse, who heard what Jason said. They talk to the priest about the wedding and Courtney is a little upset when Carly and the priest go on about how much security they will need for the wedding.

Sonny arrives just as the priest is on his way out. The priest explains that he came to visit since the priest that is conducting the ceremony is out of town for now. He thanks Sonny for his generous contribution to the youth center at the church. Jason sees how upset Courtney is getting and ushers out of the penthouse. She tells him that she is upset because of everything that is going on while they are planning their wedding. Jason comforts her but asks her to tell him from now on when something is bothering her. Sonny upsets Carly as well when he announces that he is going to South America alone to find out more about who is behind the drug ring setting them up. He asks Jason to stay behind and protect Carly and Courtney. He tries to reassure Carly that he can protect himself fine and that everything will be fine. After he leaves, Carly asks Jason to go and follow Sonny and protect him in South America. Jason gets a call a short time later from on of his men. He tells Carly that he just got a call from one of the men that Sonny never arrived at the airport like planned. Carly gets a bad feeling about this. Meanwhile, a tied up and bruised Sonny is dragged into a chair. He wakes up to see a familiar face. The man talking to him looks identical to the late "Alcazar."

Carly starts to freak out when Jason won't confirm where Sonny disappeared to. Jason tells her that he doesn't know where Sonny is and tells her she needs to remain calm and be strong for Sonny and her son right now. Jason grabs Ric by the throat and demands to know what he did to Sonny. Ric tells him what he told Sonny. Jason doesn't believe him. Sonny wakes up tied up and comes face to face with a man who looks identical to the late "Alcazar". Alcazar holds out a picture he took of Sonny bruised and tied up. He puts it into an envelope and leaves a note for Jason and has it delivered to the penthouse. Carly gets the envelope soon after with Jason's name on it. She calls Jason on his cell-phone and asks him to come home right away. Jason lets go of Ric and takes off. Ric comforts Liz, who hates what Jason does for a living. He tells her that he and Sonny will get what is coming to them eventually. Jason returns to the penthouse and reads the note and sees the picture. Carly sees the picture and freaks out about it. Jason looks at the picture and recognizes the background and tells Carly and Courtney that he recognizes where the picture of Sonny was taken. He tells Carly to stay calm. Courtney finds out where Brenda is staying and tells Carly that she is going to find Brenda and find out if she knows anything that can help them figure out about this "Alcazar" connection. Carly doesn't like the idea of Brenda getting involved but lets Courtney do it. Michael comes downstairs and tells Carly that he had a nightmare that she and Leticia disappeared and he was all alone. Carly gets up to comfort him but gets a sharp pain in her stomach and bends over in pain. Michael asks her if something is wrong with the baby. Carly assures him she will be fine. Jason shows up at the place where Sonny is being held. He pulls out his gun and searches the area inside the warehouse. He hears a sound and turns around and points his gun at the "Alcazar" look-alike. Jason is stunned to see him but keeps the gun pointed at him.

Carly has collapsed onto the floor as Michael ran to her side. The phone rang just as Michael was about to call for help. Ric was on the other end, and Michael told him that Carly had fallen. Ric reassured Michael that help was on the way and called 911. Meanwhile Jason held Lorenzo at gunpoint and demanded to know where Sonny was. Lorenzo told Jason he had twelve hours to produce the drugs they had hidden and exchange them for Sonny's safe return. Jason arrived at the penthouse just as the medics did. He told them that Carly had been under a lot of stress. At the hospital, Carly was told that although the baby was okay, she was in desperate need of rest and would have to spend the night. Jason promised her that he would bring Sonny home, not to worry. After Carly is brought to her room, Scott arrived with the police and arrested Jason on drug charges. Jason offered to tell Scott everything if he could just have 24 hours, but Scott refused reassured her that he had everything in control and asked her to go be with Carly.

Courtney arrived at the hospital just as Dr. Meadows was reviewing Carly's condition. Dr. Meadows warned Carly that she had to get more relaxation to protect the baby. She told Carly it is was important to avoid people that cause her stress for the next few months. Carly worried about Sonny despite Courtney's attempt at distractions. At Carly's insistence, Courtney returned to the police station to be with Jason. Their visit was interrupted by Lorenzo, who told Jason that Sonny's time had run out. Jason tried to convince Scott to give him 24 hours to save Sonny, but Scott rejoiced at the thought of Jason in prison and Sonny dead. Jason reminded Scott that people wouldn't know about Sonny's death, that he would simply disappear, on a tropical island for all they knew. Jason warned Scott that it would look as if Sonny had gotten away.

Carly visits Courtney and implores Courtney to help Carly spring Sonny. But Courtney convinces Carly to take care of her baby and let Jason work out a deal to spring Sonny, even though Jason is in jail! Meanwhile, at the Port Charles Police Department, as Jason tries to convince Mac and Scott to help Jason rescue Sonny from Alcazar, Mac reports to Scott that the drugs in the Evidence Room have disappeared. At the same time, Lorenzo Alcazar points a gun at Sonny and announces to Javier that it is time they got rid of their "guest." Back at the PCPD, Scott angrily releases Jason and Courtney and Carly are thrilled when Jason returns to the Penthouse and promises that he will be able to get Sonny released! Before Lorenzo can pull the trigger on Sonny, Jason calls to report that Jason is ready to trade the drugs for Sonny and Lorenzo agrees. Jason arrives at the warehouse and, after Lorenzo turns Sonny over to Jason, Jason hands Lorenzo keys to a van and tells the arms dealer that the drugs are in the van parked outside. However, Sonny accuses Jason of betraying Sonny by making a deal with Alcazar and makes an attempt to grab the keys himself. Jason tells Sonny that Jason did what he had to do and hustles a protesting Sonny out the door. As Jason hurries Sonny away from the building, Alcazar stops to test the drugs to make sure they are uncut. Alcazar is stunned when Scott bursts in with uniformed officers and arrests Lorenzo for possession of narcotics! Meanwhile, Sonny and Jason call a delighted Courtney and Carly to remind them to meet at the church for the wedding rehearsal. Carly and Courtney are thrilled when they arrive at the church and find that Jason and Sonny are actually waiting there for them. However, as the wedding rehearsal gets under way, Ric watches from a hiding place. Sonny and Carly watch while Jason and Courtney rehearse for their wedding with the priest. Carly suggests the four of them have dinner together at the Grille. They joke around at dinner. Sonny thanks Carly for being strong and apologizes for worrying her so much. The four of them dance. Alcazar crashes Jason and Courtney's rehearsal dinner. He congratulates Sonny and Jason on the double cross with the drugs. He doesn't admit that Sonny is right about bribing Scott. He tells Sonny that they will do business together eventually and walks away.

At the church, Sonny is there when Courtney arrives. Sonny gives her her bouquet of flowers and a gift box. Courtney tells him that she appreciates all that he has done for her despite his plans to try and run her life all the time. Sonny wishes her all the happiness in the world with Jason and he tells her he loves her. Meanwhile, Carly tries to help a nervous Jason, who comes to her with his cuffs all undone. She hands him a gift from her that just happens to be cufflinks that he doesn't have and needs right now. She helps him fix his suit and put on the cufflinks. She tells him she is going to miss him and explains that now that he is getting married, she won't be able to call him in the middle of the night to talk and is afraid that she will lose him as her best friend. Jason reassures her that he will always be her friend and will be there for her just like she is there for him always. Sonny gets very nervous when Carly doesn't show up with the dress for Courtney right away. Mike shows up wearing his tux. Carly gives Michael some plastic rings to pretend they are the wedding rings until the priest gives him the real wedding rings. Jason gives Michael the real rings and is confident that Michael won't lose them after he and Carly explain how important the rings are for the wedding. Michael promises to not lose them. Carly helps Courtney with putting on her wedding gown. Michael drops one of the rings and is in a panic when he can't find it. Ric spy's on them in the dressing room. Michael looks under the table but can't find the ring. He keeps this to himself.

Carly gives Courtney her bracelet as something borrowed and a new pair of earrings to match her engagement ring as something new. She also presents her with a gift from Lila that is a handkerchief from Lila that belonged to her grandmother as something old. Sonny tells Jason that he is happy for him and wishes him the best with Courtney even if he was against their relationship in the past. Jason tells him that Sonny has taught him so much over the years about relationships. Michael tells Carly about losing one of the rings but Carly finds it way under the table and makes him hold on to them tight and head into the church. Emily shows up with Nikolas and promises to keep Edward in line if he causes problems. Janine approaches Sonny and promises to behave and not cause problems. She goes in the dressing room and beams at Courtney and agrees to behave in the church and be happy for Courtney. Later, Edward can't help but be insulting to Jason at his wedding. Monica jokes with him when he is unhappy about seeing Janine there. There is no sign of the bride or Carly and everyone wonders what the holdup is. Mike comes into the church and tells Sonny and Jason to hurry over to the back of the church. They find Michael and Courtney alone. Michael tells them that Carly is gone. Ric takes an unconscious Carly and returns home with her. He takes Carly into the panic room and lays her on the cot. Carly wakes up feeling groggy and sees Ric and starts to yell.

Sonny asked Michael repeatedly if he had seen anyone take Carly, but Michael's only response was "Mommy's gone." Jason asked Mike to make an announcement that the wedding was postponed. Mike asked Monica and Alan to offer their services as doctors. After examining Michael, Monica explained to Sonny that Michael was suppressing a traumatic memory and suggested a child psychologist at GH. Sonny thanked them and agreed to let Michael see the psychologist. Presuming one of Sonny's enemies had taken Carly, Alan remarked to Monica that Michael was suffering from Sonny's lifestyle. Courtney took Michael to GH. Jason went to Lorenzo's warehouse and held him at gunpoint, but Lorenzo gave a convincing argument proving he hadn't taken Carly. Jason and Carly fought her way into the living room, but fell to Ric again when she tripped and fell. Her screams could not be heard by Elizabeth, who was in the shower. Back in the secret room, Ric told Carly about his plans to give her baby to Elizabeth. Carly realized how truly disturbed Ric was and tried to convince him to let her go before Jason and Sonny kill him. Elizabeth was startled to answer a knock at the door and find Jason and Sonny standing there. Ric observed their arrival on the screens. Jason searched the house while Elizabeth told Sonny that Ric had nothing to do with Carly's disappearance. Ric gagged Carly and slipped back into the living room. Ric pretended to be surprised about Carly's disappearance, but Sonny and Jason didn't believe him. They left but vowed to return. Courtney tried to get through to Michael but could not get any information about who took Carly. Michael continued to say nothing but "Mommy's gone." Sonny arrived and asked to see Michael. The doctor warned him that pressing Michael for information could make him retreat further. Sonny gently asked Michael to help by remembering what he saw, but Michael gave him no answers. Frustrated but calm, Sonny hugged Michael and promised to bring Carly back.

At the Hospital, Michael has a nightmare about Ric grabbing Carly, but, when Sonny wakes Michael up, Michael says only that he cannot remember what he saw in his dream. Jason waylays Faith on the Docks and, getting her in a choke-hold, Jason demands to know where Faith stashed Carly! Although Faith denies knowing anything about Carly, Jason warns Faith that, if she values her life, Faith will report to Jason or Sonny if Faith hears anything about Carly. Later, Jason reports to Sonny that he believes that Faith, the Five Families and even Alcazar are not involved in Carly's disappearance. Jason suggests that Sonny go to the police for help in searching for Carly. Later, Scott arrives at the hospital and Sonny appeals to Scott for help in locating his missing wife. However, Scott reminds Sonny that Scott has offered his help many times in the past, but Sonny has always refused to cooperate with the police! Scott reminds Sonny of all the evil Sonny dished out to Scott's daughter, Karen, when Sonny kept the girl hooked on drugs and stripping for him. Scott theorizes that Carly has just run off again to get more attention. When Scott sarcastically suggests that maybe Carly is looking for a trailer park to give birth in, Sonny attacks Scott and threatens to kill him. Scott tells Sonny that the D.A. will not press assault charges against Sonny this time but the next time either Jason or Sonny touches Scott, Scott will throw the book at both of them! Courtney suddenly appears and announces that Michael has remembered something and Jason and Courtney race back to MMichael's room. Michael tells Jason and Carly that he remembers there was a man there, but can't remember what he looked like.

In Ric's Panic Room, Carly tries to find a way to defeat the prison-style shackles Ric had provided for her. Then, Carly realizes that she can pry loose some of the metal netting holding up her mattress and goes to work, trying to pry open the lock on the leg shackle. Ric returns to the Panic Room and realizes that Carly has slipped out of her bonds. Carly hits Ric on the back of the head, then runs to the phone in the living room and dials Sonny. But Ric recovers and heads for Carly, just as Sonny picks up his phone and hears Carly's voice! Sonny hears Carly yelling in the phone that its her. Ric gets to her before she can tell him who has her and the phone disconnects. Ric holds her down and drags her into the panic room, kicking and screaming.

Michael tells Jason and Courtney that he remembers some man taking Carly away but can't describe him. Courtney tries to get him to tell her more but Michael freezes up and can't say more. Jason tells him that he will tell him when he can find the words someday. Sonny agrees with Jason that Michael would be better off at home than in the hospital. Jason and Courtney talk to Michael's doctor, who advises against releasing Michael but tells them that Michael is free to go either way. Jason and Courtney bring him home. Scott isn't happy that Sonny has put up a $3 million dollar reward for Carly's safe return (makes Scott look bad). Sonny tells him that Carly didn't run off and was kidnapped. Scott tells him that he deserves this as payback for what kind of life he leads but doesn't feel that Carly deserves being kidnapped and offers to help Sonny. Sonny is reluctant to let him help him. Jason and Courtney show up with Michael. Scott sees Michael and the shock he is obviously in and feels a touch of remorse for him and leaves. Michael wakes up and realizes he is home but looks around for a sign of Carly. Sonny realizes who he is looking for and tells him that Cary isn't there but they will find her soon and that Carly called them to let them know she is all right. Michael tells him that she is still gone though. Jason and Courtney leave the penthouse. Jason's cell-phone rings and he answers it. It is Alcazar's right-hand man, telling him that he will tell him where Carly is if he gives him the $3 million up front and meets with him. Jason asks him if he has Carly but Alcazar stabs him in the back and kills him before he can say more. Alcazar disconnects the phone. He tells his former goon that he will not allow any of his men to get the reward when he needs to use this kidnapping to his advantage.

Scott shows up at the penthouse to question Sonny. Courtney brings Michael in the kitchen to have dinner. Scott mentions the murder of one of Alcazar's men on the docks and accuses them of killing him because of Carly's kidnapping. Sonny and Jason tell him he has no proof of them killing anyone. Scott gets a call on his cell-phone and has to leave. Sonny and Jason try to decide how to get Scott out of their lives. Sonny wants to kill him but Jason tells him he isn't worth the price of the bullets. Jason suggests they get one of their judges on the payroll to get him fired as D.A. Sonny suggests that Scott may lead them to where Carly is being held. Sonny theorizes that Alcazar kidnapped Carly and that one of his men betrayed him to get the reward money so Alcazar killed him. Jason thinks that if Alcazar had kidnapped Carly he would let them know to get what he wants from them. Jason tells him that only one person would do this to hurt him by kidnapping Carly and that would be Ric. Michael eavesdrops and hears Jason mention Ric as a suspect. Sonny tells Michael is going to try to get his mother back tonight!
