DVD #23A Marlena is outside of Kayla's suite, talking to someone in regards to Belle and Shawn. She hangs up and enters Kayla's suite. Kayla informs Marlena of Steve trying to choke her, thinking she was E.J. Marlena insists they call Roman, but Kayla does not want to betray Steve. Marlena feels the situation is out of their hands, and insists she cannot let Kayla go after Steve.

Steve is in the hospital; he keeps hearing E.J telling him to bring John Black to him. Steve goes into John's room, continuously hearing E.J controlling him. He goes into a supply closet, thinking he can escape his orders. Marlena tells Kayla that Steve is under the DiMeras' control, and she can no longer think of him as her husband, Steve Johnson. She continues to tell Kayla that Steve will only do what he is ordered to do, and wherever he is he only has he mission, to do what he is asked to do. Kayla, upset, cries that she cannot loose him again. Marlena responds that she cannot save him either.

Marlena suggests again, that Kayla call Roman. She starts to tell Kayla about what John said, however stops. Kayla is insistent that Marlena tells her. Marlena tells Kayla of the dream she had, that John told her Steve is programmed and dangerous, and she believes him. She further tells Kayla that she needs to think of Steve as the man who tried to kill her, not as her husband.

Steve enters John’s room is scrubs; he disconnects his heart monitor and breathing tubes. Steve puts John on a gurney, covers him up, and then pulls the fire alarm. He takes John out in the lobby, where he still hears the continuous banging and E.J over, and over telling him, he is one of them now. The nurses go into John's room and discover he is missing. We see Steve in the elevator with John.

Meanwhile, Marlena further tries to convince Kayla that calling the police is not betraying Steve. It is keeping someone from being hurt, because if that happens, Steve will be blamed, not the DiMeras. Kayla agrees that Steve wanted to be locked up, for everyone's sake. Marlena assures Kayla; Steve is in there somewhere and needs help. Marlena gets a call from the hospital, and finds out John is missing. She leaves with Kayla right behind her.

2/26 At the Warehouse: Steve asks E.J. what his plans are? E.J. tells him they need one of John's kidneys. Steve shouts at him; they are sick. A scraggy looking doctor shows up. E.J. tells him the nurse is ready whenever he is. Steve really goes wild, shouting that he will not let them hack up John Black. E.J. uses the tarot card to control Steve. E.J. tells Steve that John got away from them, but Steve, is one of them now. E.J. tells Steve that if he knows a doctor that can do the surgery, suggesting Marlena or Kayla, he has fifteen minutes to decide, or the surgery continues. E.J. shows Steve the tarot card, warning Steve to keep his name out of it. Steve leaves. E.J. gets a call from Bo. On the way out, E.J. tells the doctor; if John dies, take the kidney.

Bo is investigating John's disappearance at the hospital. Kayla tells Bo she is worried that Steve took John. Kayla tells Bo about Steve's recent behavior, how he tried to choke her, dreaming that he was choking E.J. Now, she tells him, she is afraid, since E.J. tried to kill John before, that he is making Steve carry out all of his dirty work. Bo tells Kayla he needs to find Steve, and when he does, he has to arrest him. Kayla tells Bo; that is what Steve wanted. Bo puts out an APB on Steve. Kayla wants Bo to bring E.J. in as well. However, Bo tells her he has to be careful with E.J., that they do not have any good evidence to bring him in for questioning. Bo promises Kayla that he will at least, talk to E.J. Kayla leaves to go home, to wait and see if Steve returns.

Kayla returns home to find Steve waiting for her. He admits to taking John from the hospital. Kayla informs Steve she is going to call the police, however Steve stops her saying no police, or people will die, John will die. Steve tells Kayla she has to come with him; she has no choice. Kayla asks Steve if he is threatening her. He coldly stares at her saying; please sweetness, I need you. Kayla, unsure of what she should do, follows Steve out the door. They arrive at the warehouse. The doctor is just about to operate. Steve grabs the doctor's equipment and throws it all in the garbage, then kicks him out of the warehouse. Kayla asks what she is there to do. Steve informs her she has to remove one of John's kidneys.

2/27 At the Warehouse: Kayla is arguing with Steve about operating on John. She insists that John will not survive losing a kidney, especially considering the conditions of the warehouse. Kayla asks Steve whom the kidney is for, and he informs her that he does not know. Kayla tries to call the police; however, Steve grabs her phone and tells her no police. Steve tells her that people other than John will die if Kayla refuses to go through with the operation. Kayla quickly realizes Steve is referring to their daughter, Stephanie. Steve finally convinces Kayla that there are not any alternatives and she agrees to do the surgery. After the surgery is complete, the nurse rushes out with the kidney. Kayla finally convinces Steve to allow her to call the police and an ambulance, and while in process, Steve tells Kayla he loves her and disappears.

3/1 Steve shows up at Kayla's place saying he needs money to get out of town; he's leaving Salem before the cops arrest him. Kayla refuses to help him flee, telling Steve that he needs professional help and she wants him to stay and get de-programmed. Steve refuses. He has to get away from Kayla and their family before he hurts anyone else. Before Steve can take off, two cops are there to stop him. Steve realizes Kayla called them and is betrayed. He tries to escape, but to no avail. The cops drag him out. Furious, he warns Kayla that she just signed his death warrant. If they lock him up, he's dead and this time, he's never coming back!

3/2 Kayla is horrified when Bo tells her Steve is being sent to a state hospital for the criminally insane. Steve is livid. He blames Kayla for this. Bo comes to Kayla's defense and the argument escalates. Steve breaks free from the cop who's been restraining him, and knocks Bo to the floor. Later, after Steve's been restrained again, he lashes out at Bo and Kayla, saying he wants them out of his life for good. Kayla pleads with Steve not to shut her out, but he won't hear it. And with that, the cops haul him off. Bo promises a horrified Kayla they'll do everything they can for Steve.

3/9 Steve meets with psychologist Ella Kraft and insists he isn't crazy and doesn't belong in the state mental hospital. She reminds him he's been charged with serious crimes and the judge did him a favor not sending him to confront a jury. She asks why Steve kidnapped John and had Kayla remove his kidney. Steve admits he doesn't know. Ella suggests it might be a good idea for him to explore his unconscious and he agrees to go along if she'll let him out of the strait-jacket. She will if he takes a sedative. He does, then pretends to be dizzy and falls to the floor, taking her with him. After Ella leaves, Steve takes out her cell phone, which he grabbed while they were entangled. He calls E.J. and tells him to get him out of here. Kayla confronts E.J., saying she knows he's responsible for Steve being brainwashed and manipulated. E.J. denies it and cryptically warns her not to get in his way.

3/12 E.J. visited Steve in the state hospital and was seriously displeased by Kayla's accusations. Steve begged E.J. to help get him out of the "loony bin." E.J. would intervene if Steve promised to stop fighting him.

3/15 Steve was not happy when Kayla visited him at the state hospital. She told him she had seen E.J.'s name on the guest registry and inquired what that was about. Steve had no comment and said he wished Kayla would just leave him "the hell alone," for her own good. Kayla wasn't about to back down and threatened to tell Stephanie about what was going on with him. In a huge moment, an angry Steve grabbed Kayla, pretended to hold a knife to her back, and escaped from the hospital. Billie was shocked when Steve showed up at her apartment.

3/16 Billie realized Steve had escaped from the state mental hospital, and he needed her help to get out of town. E.J. arrived, unaware Steve was there, and asked Billie to the Penthouse Grill. She claimed she was busy having a heart-to-heart talk with Chelsea. E.J. returned to Billie’s apartment and called her out on her lie, while Steve hid from him in the shadows.

Kayla had informed Roman of Steve's escape from the mental hospital. He suggested Steve might be with Billie, but when Kayla called her, Billie lied and claimed she had the flu and hadn't seen anyone. Kayla offered Roman the theory that Steve was with E.J., and the two went to question him. E.J. seemed genuinely surprised when he heard Steve had escaped and denied any part in it. He thought if Kayla wanted to find Steve, she should ask Billie. By day's end, a depleted Kayla admitted she needed Marlena's psychological help.

3/19 Steve instructed Billie that they were leaving via her fire escape. Chelsea knocked at the door and called out to her mom. Steve insisted he and Billie exit as planned. He needed her to get across the state line. As they made their getaway, Kayla filled Marlena in on the situation with Steve: the police had an APB out on him. Kayla apologized for what happened to John. He and Steve were both victims of the DiMeras, who turned them into violent people.

Marlena pointed out that she was never afraid of John, even while Steve tried to kill Kayla and kidnapped John from the hospital. Kayla's phone rang and it was E.J., informing her that Steve was at Billie's apartment. Marlena wanted to call Roman, but Kayla insisted on handling this herself. Kayla and Marlena arrived at Billie's only to find that she and Steve were gone. Kayla found a map with a route highlighted on it and showed it to Marlena. Kayla begged Marlena to go with her to find Billie and Steve. Marlena wanted to call Roman, but reluctantly agreed.

While Billie drove their getaway car, Steve noticed his map was gone. He accused Billie of leaving it behind on purpose, so someone could tail them. Steve screamed at Billie to pull over and get out of the car. Billie refused and they struggled for the steering wheel as the car swerved off the road.

3/20 Kayla and Marlena use the map Billie left behind to follow her and Steve. Kayla vows that once Steve is safely back in the hospital, she's going after E.J. herself. Marlena warns her not to underestimate the DiMeras. They stop at a gas station, and Kayla goes in to show Steve's photo around. Marlena calls Roman and tells him where they are and what they're doing. Kayla returns, says no one recognized Steve, but a trucker saw a car in a ditch not far up ahead.

Steve has carried unconscious Billie half a mile to a cabin. He brings her inside and leaves her, but when she comes to, he's returned to make sure she's okay. He starts to leave again, but she tells him he can't run from something inside his head. She suggests he go back and get help. He refuses, but when he opens the door to leave, Kayla and Marlena are there. They beg him to come back to Salem with them. He refuses, and Marlena tells him she's not letting him go until he agrees to give himself up.

3/21 Convinced he can overpower Marlena, Steve tries to make his escape, but she sprays him twice with mace. Once he's incapacitated, Marlena and Billie tie him up, while Kayla watches in horror. Marlena worries about Billie's health with her concussion and leaves Kayla alone with Steve to check on Billie. Steve pretends to be "the old Steve" again, trying to convince Kayla to let him go. Kayla starts to fall for it, but she tests him by kissing him, and realizes he's lying to her. Steve coldly laughs in her face, and Kayla realizes the man she married is truly gone. Later, Marlena tranquilizes a drugged Steve, as the police arrive.

3/22 Roman tells Kayla the judge wants Steve behind bars as soon as he gets checked out at University Hospital. Kayla convinces Roman to let Steve get checked by his doctor at the state hospital. Later, Kayla makes her heartfelt plea with Dr. Kraft at the state hospital. Little does she know, Steve has heard every word of it and is deeply affected. A huge moment as Dr. Kraft agrees to make the request.

3/23 Steve is back in the state hospital, taking his meds. Kayla shows up. Steve wants to make a deal: if she won't tell Stephanie he's in the loony bin, he'll cooperate and try to get better. Kayla isn't sure she can trust him. Steve knows she loves him, and he loves her. As proof, he kisses her. Kayla confirms his kiss felt real but she's still not sure he is sincere. If he really wants to cooperate, he'll name the man who forced him to abduct John Black to steal his kidney. Steve refuses, so Kayla tells him he's left her no choice; she's going to have to go after E.J. herself. Steve freaks and warns her E.J.'s dangerous, but Kayla is determined and Steve is in no position to stop her.

3/28 Steve is back in the state hospital, complaining to Dr. Ella Kraft that the meds they're giving him are making him feel out of it. She says it's part of his treatment, and if he doesn't cooperate, she'll have to tell the judge. Steve admits he's afraid, and she says they're going to figure out what happened to him. She tells him if he takes the meds, he can join the other patients in the common room. Steve agrees, but after she goes, we see he only pretended to take the pills. He eats lunch with Ella in the common room, but doesn't like the food and gives it to another patient. A brutal orderly named Foley takes the food from the other patient, and when Steve tries to explain, Foley dumps it on the floor and tells Steve to clean it up. Steve refuses, and they go nose-to-nose.

Kayla tells Max she's planning to go to Italy to find proof that E.J. is behind Steve's behavior. Max warns her not to take on the DiMeras herself. She says Bo and Roman can't do anything about it, but she wants Max to go with her for support. Max agrees, but wants to stop in New York on the way back to see Abby. Kayla agrees and makes him promise not to tell anyone about their plans.

3/29 Max and Kayla head to Italy to find evidence that John's kidney was taken to give to Stefano. If they can prove that, Kayla believes they can finally nail E.J. and save Steve's life. Max steals a collar from a priest sitting near them on the plane; no one will turn away a man of God. Now all they have to do is get Kayla a nun's habit. Max is confident the plan will work.

Steve gets into it with a hospital orderly, Foley, because of his horrible treatment of patients. Foley dumps his food on the floor and orders Steve to pick it up. Steve refuses and dumps the food on Foley's shoes. A livid Foley grabs Steve and tells him he crossed a line. Steve continues to mock him, only causing Foley's anger to rise. He pulls out a taser and threatens Steve, who stops dead in his tracks. Foley shocks Steve just as Ella enters. She quickly stops the abuse and tends to Steve, but it's clear he's now made himself an enemy.

3/30 E.J. goes to see Steve and warns him not to make any more trouble. E.J. says he can get him out of the hospital, but not out of county jail. Steve wants E.J. to get him out now. E.J. isn't ready and doesn't want Steve running around outside, out of control. Steve attacks him, but then backs off, asking how long he has to wait. E.J. says as soon as Philip finds Shawn, he'll send Steve with a delivery. He'll tell Steve what it is when the time comes, and warns him to tell Kayla to stay out of his business. Steve panics. He asks Ella to call Kayla and tell her to come right away, but Ella tells him she's in Italy.

Max and Kayla have found the hospital where Stefano is and are trying to get in dressed as a priest and a nun. An armed guard stops them, but Max distracts him and gets his gun. Kayla goes into the room, finds the surgical scar on Stefano's side and takes photos of it. She also takes his fingerprints and thinks about pulling the plug on his ventilator, but can't do it. She and Max lock the guard in a closet and make their escape.

4/2 E.J. got a call from Kayla, saying she had proof that he was the one who had stolen John's kidney for Stefano. Max and Kayla were on the way back from Italy, but had to stop over in New York City. Max talked about his feelings for Abby, and Kayla encouraged him to take a chance.

4/3 Kayla visits Steve at the psy hospital. He tells her that he knows about her trip to Italy and warns her she never should have gone. He asks if she is trying to be a martyr now? She says she will do whatever she has to do to prove EJ is a criminal. He tells her she is lucky to have gotten out of Italy alive, the DiMeras could have killed her at any time. She wants her husband back and will do whatever she has to. He tells her that man is dead and gone. He worries about her and warns her again how dangerous this is. She tells him she isn’t giving up and asks him if he wants to see what she brought back from Stefano’s hospital room? He is shocked to learn she walked right into his room dressed as a nun. He tells her that this is crazy and can’t believe she involved Max.

She shows him a picture of Stefano and a picture of the incision that she thinks this is proof that Stefano has John’s stolen kidney. He tells her this isn’t proof of EJ’s involvement. She tells him that if he testifies that he is the link to prove his guilty. He can’t believe she is going up against EJ and tells her this isn’t going to be wrapped up in a neat little ending. He asks her to go visit Stefanie as he can’t protect her while he is locked up. He pulls her down on the bed and demands that she stay away fro those people. He starts kissing her and she responds. He pulls away and shaken she walks out.

4/4 Kayla filled Roman in on her trip to Italy and showed him the photos she had taken of Stefano's transplant scar. Roman flipped out, warning her in no uncertain terms to steer clear of E.J. Later, E.J. accosted Kayla and warned her that if she ever went anywhere near his father again, he'd kill her.

Dvd #23B 4/9 Steve continues to hide his medication and pretend he's taking his pills. Kayla arrives with word from Stephanie: she's in love. Kayla wants Steve to write an emailed response rather than calling. Discussion of Stephanie being in love brings back memories of their own relationship. Later, Steve wants to give up on the email but Kayla breaks through his defenses by telling him that true love is always a risk, but a risk worth taking.

4/10 Bo and Kayla argue over the value of the evidence she brought back from Stefano's hospital room in Italy. She wants the cops to move on E.J. Bo says her evidence won't stand up in court. She storms out and drives away and two cars force her off the road! Bo is at Kayla's hospital bedside and she manages to let him know she was forced off the road.

Marlena goes to see Steve, but he is hostile and uninterested in her help. She tells him she suggested to Dr. Ella Kraft that they bring in a de-programmer to reverse the effects of his brainwashing. Steve has no use for any more psychological techniques. As she's leaving, Marlena gets a call about Kayla's "accident." She tells Steve, who acts indifferent. Later, Steve gets a bar of lye soap and uses it to raise his temperature so that he is sent to the ER at University Hospital, where Kayla is.

4/11 E.J. visits Kayla at the hospital, where he subtly threatens her.

At the hospital, Steve drugs the cop who's watching him, then cuffs him to the bed and escapes to Kayla's room. He thinks the car accident was all E.J.'s doing. Steve tells Kayla he'll show everyone E.J. has no control over him and takes off. Kayla calls Bo to inform him that Steve is running free and might kill E.J. Later, Steve attacks E.J. and warns him never to touch Kayla. Bo pays E.J. a visit, and despite his bruises, Wells reports he hasn't seen Steve.

4/12 Hope is in Kayla's hospital room when E.J. arrives. E.J. claims he had nothing to do with running Kayla off the road. Hope and Kayla don't believe him. E.J. asks Hope how Shawn is and pretends to be concerned. After E.J. leaves, Hope expresses her fear that he knows Roman and Bo are waiting to get a statement from Shawn. Later, Kayla goes to see Steve and reminds him he promised to take his meds and leave E.J. alone. Since he hasn't done that, she is going to tell Stephanie everything. Bo confronts Steve about roughing up E.J. Steve denies ever leaving the hospital, but Bo knows his friend did it. The only reason E.J. didn't press charges is because he can't get to Steve in jail.

4/13 At the mental hospital, Steve stands up for the patients, telling Ella the food stinks and they deserve better. They deserve a lot of things they're not getting. When Ella leaves to speak to her superior, Steve uses her computer to order pizza for the group, further endearing himself to them. Afterwards, he gets into it with the orderly Foley, who threatens him with his bully stick. They're interrupted by the arrival of the pizza, and a furious Foley glares at Steve.

4/16 Steve's internet pizza order arrives. As he and his new friends feast, Foley forks over the money to pay for it, furious that Steve used Dr. Kraft's laptop without permission. Foley is about to use his truncheon on Steve when Ella intervenes. After Ella leaves, Foley and another orderly lock Steve in the common room to teach him a lesson he won't forget.

4/20 Stephanie returns to Salem, where Kayla tells her the specifics about Steve's condition. Kayla is hoping Stephanie will be able to persuade her dad to rat out E.J. to the cops, thus freeing Steve from E.J.'s hold. Dr. Ella Kraft arrives, demanding to know why Kayla pulled her from Steve's case. Kayla says she wasn't responsible for the change and doesn't know why it was made. Ella thinks someone nefarious has infiltrated the state hospital, someone who's now calling all the shots, and she fears for Steve's life.

4/23 Kayla takes Stephanie to visit her father and both women are horrified to find Steve a bruised and bloodied mess in the aftermath of Foley's beating. Stephanie makes a passionate plea that he fight to get himself out of the mental hospital by cooperating with the police, telling them everything he knows about E.J. Wells. Steve agrees. Kayla and Stephanie leave to tell Bo and Roman the good news. Steve is visited by Dr. Granger, who shows him a devil tarot card and intones... "You're still one of us..."

4/24 Kayla and Stephanie tell Bo that Steve is ready to testify against E.J. Meanwhile, Granger is using electroshock therapy to get Steve back in line. When Kayla, Bo and Stephanie arrive, Steve denies ever saying he would turn on E.J. Kayla sees evidence he was shocked and goes out with Bo to confront Granger. He tells them the court put him in complete charge of Steve's therapy. He's not going to consult with Kayla; in fact, he's not going to let Steve have visitors at all! Meanwhile, Stephanie begs Steve to tell her what happened, but he refuses, even denies that he loves her and tells her to grow up. She leaves in tears and Granger comes back in, telling Steve he did well.

4/25 Stephanie makes her opinion known to Bo and Kayla that she's sick of letting her dad run their lives. It's time for some tough love! Kayla and Bo respectfully disagree, and Stephanie states she can't deal with her mom wasting her life over a man who won't help himself. She races off, and Kayla laments the toll this is taking on her family.

4/26 Bo informs Kayla, that E.J. is missing. Kayla tells Bo she needs to break Steve out of the mental hospital, and she'll do it on her own, if that's what it takes.

5/1 Stephanie balks when Kayla asks her to be supportive of Steve. She tells her mom that her dad doesn't want their support; they're just wasting their time. Kayla won't accept this and lectures Stephanie on loving unconditionally. Stephanie is affected by this and when Roman arrives with the bad news that the police can't secure Steve's release from the state hospital, she volunteers to help break him out. Both Kayla and Roman forbid Stephanie from such a dangerous endeavor. Kayla gets an idea as to who would be a good person to go undercover at the hospital as a patient in order to spring Steve – his sister, Adrienne. Adrienne arrives, and after a tearful reunion with Kayla, agrees to save Steve.

5/4 Adrienne arrives at the hospital in a wheelchair. She looks drugged. When Foley leaves, Adrienne comes to life and speaks to Kayla and Bo, who are listening to her over a wire in their car outside. Kayla says they have to get Steve out today. Adrienne spots a zombie-looking Steve and tells him she is his sister, but he shows no signs of recognition. Adrienne says she will help Steve get out, and recounts a story from their past. Steve says she is a liar, but reacts when Adrienne says she knows Kayla. Adrienne tries to get Steve to remember her, using her bracelet to jog his memory. Adrienne says Kayla is outside; she will take him to see her. Adrienne holds Steve up, but Foley returns and tells her to get away from him or she will be confined to her room.

5/7 In front of Foley, Steve blurts out that Adrienne's his sister. As Bo and Kayla listen from their surveillance vehicle parked outside the hospital, Adrienne covers. Once Foley leaves, she tells Steve she's wearing a wire. She gives him the earpiece and he hears Kayla telling him to do as Adrienne asks; she's going to try to get him out of there. Dr. Granger and E.J. return. E.J. busts Adrienne for wearing the wire. E.J. and Granger are about to take Steve when the other patients rally around their friend and allow Adrienne and Steve the opportunity to escape.

5/8 E.J. pays off two thugs to do an unspoken deed for him. Meanwhile, Steve and Kayla are holed up in a hotel room. Steve has spent a rough night with a deprogrammer but progress has obviously been made since he is able to connect to Kayla once again, kissing her and asking her to make love. But before they can, there's a knock on the door. Kayla thinks it's the deprogrammer returning, but she's told it's "room service." It turns out to be E.J.'s thugs, who attempt to break the door down.

5/9 Steve and Kayla are attacked by the thugs. Although they try to fight them off, E.J.'s men manage to knock Steve out and race off with him. Kayla calls Roman, who leaves the wedding and goes to the hotel. He promises Kayla they'll get the goods on E.J., but she won't wait anymore. She sends Roman back to the wedding. Taking matters into her own hands, Kayla steals a cordless drill and heads off to E.J.'s apartment. E.J. meets with Steve in the warehouse about his next assignment. Steve learns he's going to Tinda Lau to stop Shawn from signing the papers against E.J., and then he's ordered to kill Bo!

5/10 Kayla has stolen a drill from the hotel and breaks into E.J.'s apartment. She searches the apartment and finds the atlas with Tinda Lau circled. Roman and Hope arrive and Kayla shows them the map. She thinks that's where E.J. sent Steve. Hope gets a call that Stephanie's in the hospital and Kayla starts out as E.J. arrives. He wants Roman to arrest her for breaking and entering, but Roman refuses, vowing that E.J.'s the one he's going to arrest. Kayla arrives at Stephanie's hospital room and angrily tells her if she's going to cause even more problems, she should just go back to Dayton.

5/14 Adrienne meets Kayla at the church. Kayla informs her that Steve was sent to Tinda Lau to kill Bo and Shawn. A somber Kayla now realizes Steve is not the man she once loved; he's fully under the control of the DiMeras. Kayla asks Adrienne if she brought what she asked for. Adrienne did; she produces a handgun. Adrienne is horrified when Kayla says she's going down to Tinda Lau to stop Steve from carrying out his mission, even if it means killing him!

5/15 Bo and Shawn are wary of Steve's sudden appearance on Tinda Lau. Steve swears he's no longer under the DiMeras' control, but Bo has doubts. Shawn wants to trust Steve, knowing his uncle and his seaplane are his only chance of catching up with Philip and rescuing Belle and Claire.

5/16 Bo tells Shawn there's only one way to stop E.J. Shawn must sign a statement that E.J. and Patrick Lockhart were in collusion. Bo and the Salem P.D. believe Lockhart will be persuaded by Shawn's statement to roll over on E.J. As Shawn starts to sign the statement, Steve returns from having gassed up the plane. Shawn quickly hides the statement, while Bo tells Steve they decided to find themselves a boat and catch up to Philip that way. Steve questions the turn-around, and Bo is forced to admit he can't trust Steve.

5/17 Bo and Steve argue, as Steve doesn’t understand why Shawn and Bo don’t trust him anymore? Bo believes E.J. sent Steve here to kill them. Steve pulls a gun on Bo, but instead of aiming it at him, he turns the gun over to Bo which is supposed to be proof that he is not here to hurt anybody. He offers Shawn a ride to find Philip and Belle, when Gabby says the tracking device is no longer giving off a signal!
