Roman comes to ask Victor his whereabouts last night. Victor has an alibi during the time that Billings was murdered.  Roman returns home and fills Britta in on his meeting with Victor. She is sure that Victor killed Billings, as he is the only one who knew Billings was in Salem. Roman points out that he knew and Britta knew. She insists that Victor is the only person with a motive. "Three" doesn't mean anything to Britta so it has to mean something to Roman. Britta and Roman go to talk in the lounge and as soon as they walk out and close the door Marlena opens her eyes but closes them again immediately.

In the lounge, Roman tells Britta that he tried to call the number on Billings' poster but it was disconnected and it was after he died. Roman tells her that next to Marlena getting better finding out who killed Billings and finding out what "Three" means is the most important thing in the world to him. Hope walks in and is surprised to see Britta out of hiding. She informs Hope that she is safe from Victor, Steve made a deal to keep her safe. Hope argues that Steve doesn’t have anything Victor wants but she knows who does!

Matt stops by Marlena's room to tell her how sorry he is that this happened to her but ever since that night he has been getting help and has been sober but it was hard like she said it would be. He tells her that seeing her come out on the ledge for him made him realize that if she thought his life was so important then should too. Roman tells Marlena about Matt coming by and he urges her to come back to him. When he gets frustrated and starts yelling at her, when he turns his back to look out of the glass in the door, Marlena opens her eyes and calls his name.

After Britt leaves, Roman asks Hope why she is upset. She tells him about the trip to Europe. Roman says Bo takes the cake for stupidity. Hope knows that Bo made a deal with Victor and now she has learned that Britta is part of the deal. Roman wants to know what is going on. Hope says she has already said too much. He remembers a box marked US Treasury and stolen treasury engravings. Roman thinks he hid the package and that Billings helped him. Britta knew about the poster and the significance of the dates (phone number) but not where the bonds were hidden. He said he hid the poster when he was trapped by the KGB at the cabin. Roman and Marlena run into a hiker when they emerge from the room and someone pays him when they leave. They get into their honeymoon as they make out in a seductive music montage of kissing scenes as they make out. Roman’s instincts awaken as he feels they are being watched. He tells her to stay there and takes off and catches the guy following him. He demands to know who he is and who he is working for?

Roman gives him a message to take back to his boss, that he is out of working for the ISA and he is focused on his wife and his family and nothing is going to stop him from doing that. After he lets the guy go, Marlena questions if he is really out of the ISA for good? No more KGB? No more land mines? He assures her that he has been dealing with this since Stockholm. He will turn over all of this information to the ISA and then he is done with this. She says she just hopes this is all true. The guy is still watching him and says, “Dream on Brady!”

9/5 Copy, so-so quality. Roman and Marlena returned home from their honeymoon. They stop in Shenanigan’s for strawberry pancakes, as he teases Marlena about snoring on the ride home. He is excited as he is about to resign from ISA, and he can’t wait to be a free man. He just wants to use all of his energy to love her, and says that Stockholm will be the ISA’s problem. Shane joins them and he is happy that Roman has gotten his memory back, he agrees that he has most of it back.

Shane joins Roman and Marlena on their trip to DC to the ISA. Vaughn points out that Roman has pieced together the Stockholm situation but there is one problem, that there was something else in the box. Roman is upset to learn ISA knew all along about the engravings in the box. Vaughn tells him there is something else that was in the box and asks where that is? Roman is furious that Vaughn/ISA knew all along about Stockholm and didn’t tell him. Vaughn points out that it was better for Roman to regain his memory in order to recall the other item in the box. He tells him there was 25 Billion in fake treasury bonds. They have to recover the fake bonds in order to avoid the entire American economy collapsing. Roman gives Vaughn the files he compiled and tells him that he is out. Vaughn can’t believe he is resigning.

Roman determines that the ISA will have to find the bonds without him. Vaughn urges him to reconsider as there is another party is after the bonds and they need him, his country needs him. Roman is tired of being jerked around by the ISA. Roman understands how important it is to retrieve the fake bonds but Vaughn will have to do it without him. Roman continues that he is not going to chase after something that he has no personal stake in. Marlena interjects if there is anyone who deserves some peace and quiet, it is Roman Brady. Roman tells Vaughn he has turned everything over to the ISA, and he is out. They leave and she is relieved this is over. He kisses her and they head home. Vaughn is furious that nothing he said made any difference. He tells another agent that you just have to know where to apply pressure. Vaughn knows that his wife is key to enlisting Roman’s help. If she was in trouble, Roman would go to the ends of the earth.

9/9 Roman is surprised when Marlena returns home from work early. She shares that she had called him at his office and when she learned he had gone home, she decided to head home and join him. She wants to spend all of the time with him that she can. She notices the Stockholm poster and pauses. He tells her that he wants to close the door on this, and was just hoping it would trigger additional memories. He assures her that this is all in the past. He is just concerned that there is something he has forgotten that could put her in danger.

But right now, all that is important is they get on with their own future. She tells him that getting this poster out of their house, and he corrects her “out of their lives”. He tells her he is heading to Shane’s to turn the poster over to Shane. He returns home and tell her that he is free, that Stockholm is now behind him as the poster was his last tie. Carrie comes in with the twins and yells, “surprise”! She gives them a cake that she made to welcome them home, we see them being watched from outside.

Roman and Britta talk, he knows she knew that the KGB was going to give Victor the fake treasury bonds in return for information and he accuses that Britta knew all of this. He reports that she gave him the treasury bonds, but doesn’t know where he put them. She admits that she did know about this, and starts to make excuses. He doesn’t want to hear it, he tells her that he is out of game. He suggests that she get out know as she is playing with the big boys if she wants to get out alive. Roman plays with the children, and then draws Marlena into the “tickle game” as they laugh and play. We see a mystery man saying that Britta wants the bonds for herself and if it comes to it that he will take care of her.

9/11 Roman is working from home, and Marlena entices him to join her in a hot steamy bath. As they are going upstairs, Abe arrives and urgently tells Roman that they have trouble. Abe tells Roman and Marlena about a break in at hospital drug cabinet and he is really strung out and could be dangerous. Roman calls Kayla to warn her. Too late as a junkie is threatening her with a knife to get drugs and demands to know where they are kept, as Max runs out. He tells her he is strung out and needs her help. She says she can’t give him a prescription as she isn’t a doctor. Roman gets worried when Kayla doesn’t answer the phone at the clinic.

As it continues to ring, Kayla goes to answer the phone and the guy threatens her with a knife. She tells the junkie she has to answer it or someone will know something is wrong if she doesn’t. It is Roman who is calling to tell her about an addict seeking drugs and just hit the hospital and for her to be careful. She doesn't say much and after hanging up, Roman decides to head over there with Abe. Steve finds the addict with a knife on Kayla. He attacks the addict and starts beating him as Kayla begs him to stop. He notices she is bleeding and turns his attention to helping her as the addict runs out. Roman runs in and Steve tells him what happened and Abe and Roman run out after the guy.

When Roman and Abe return, Steve starts filling them in and then remembers Max and finds him calmly sitting in another room. Kayla tells him that he is her hero, and Roman says that he will have to get a big hero reward. When Roman returns home, he finds Vaughn there waiting for him. Vaughn tries again to get Roman to help the ISA to retrieve the bonds to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands and ruining the US economy. Roman was the last person to have the bonds and if he works with them, it will be much easier to locate them. Marlena interrupts that Roman deserves to take a break and spend time with his family as he has done enough. Vaughn realizes Roman won’t change his mind and leaves. Roman is annoyed that Vaughn won’t take no for an answer. Back at his office, Vaughn gives an agent an assignment and hands him a folder. The agent is shocked that Vaughn would do this to Roman Brady!
