What Went Right:A whole lot of things. "Friends" reversed its viewer-losing trend and is now up 18%, as ranking as tv's number one show. "The West Wing" and "Law & Order" are both top 6 series. Friday night is strong with "SVU" ranking in the top 20, and "Law & Order: CI" (27) has brought back Sundays.

What Went Wrong:Saturday nights. After the XFL debacle of last season, NBC just can't seem to get on track on Saturdays, usually only registering 5 million viewers for it's films. Were it not for this night, NBC would probably be number on. Tuesday at 8pm is a mess, still, with both "Emeril" (83) and "Three Sisters" (81) flaming out. "Ed" (52) just looks sad compared with the numbers NBC is drawing at 9pm on Wednesdays, and the net needs plugs for Thursday at 8:30 and 9:30pm.

Cancellation Is Calling:Three Sisters,  UC: Undercover

Can It Beat CBS? When "Survivor" leaves next month, NBC will likely rise on Thursdays. With "Fear Factor" coming back to Mondays, that night will likely rise. But there are still alot of wholes, so it probably won't beat CBS.

Spring Predictions: "Third Watch" will be moved to another night (maybe Fridays after "Providence"
or Sundays at 10pm), "The Weakest Link" could be used to plug a Saturday whole. And the net has got to be preying that Julia Louis-Dreyfuss' new show will catch on.
