Everyone Makes Mistakes: 7

"What?!" Nik asked, his voice rising as the anger intensified.

"I just..." Lucky began, looking at Gia. "I...never mind. Yes, divorce. Today."

"Good." Nik calmed himself as he reclaimed his seat. "Now that that's all settled, we can eat in peace."

Gia knew that something wasn't right with Lucky, and she fully-intended on finding out. But not right now. She was too happy right now. Her and Nik had forgiven each other, and even though they knew it would take time to gain back the trust, they both knew they loved each other, and that was what mattered.

Lucky didn't remember much about the previous night, but he did remember telling Gia he loved her. That was the only thing he said that night that he meant. And he still felt the same way now. But seeing how happy Gia and Nik were together had only pushed him to do what was right for them, and to put his feelings aside.

"Lucky," Liz said quietly, "Can I talk to you for a second?"

Lucky looked up from his food.

"Privately." she added, while standing up and walking through the door. Lucky reluctantly followed, knowing was Liz was going to say.

"Gia," Nik said, taking her hand in his. "I am so sorry for all of this. If I hadn't been with Coral in the first place, none of this would've happened, and we would've been at home right now, in front of the fire, and--"

Gia silenced him with her lips, a weapon Gia found worked quite well, and when they released, she said, "Nikolas, what happened happened. We can't go back in time, we can't change anything. All we can do now is try to make things right. And we will."

Nik nodded and gave Gia another quick kiss before returning to his meal.

~*~Outside Kelly's~*~

"What do you want Elizabeth?!" Lucky bellowed.

"I want you, Lucky." Liz replied sweetly. "Jason means nothing to me, I swear!"

"I'm sorry, but I....no wait, I'm *not* sorry. You hurt me Liz, you hurt me so badly, and I did nothing but love you!" Lucky's hurt turned to rage. "Listen to me Elizabeth, I want nothing to do with you. You hear me? *Nothing* I don't ever want to hear or see from you again!"

With that Lucky stormed back into Kelly's, leaving a devastated Liz, collapsed on the bench, sobbing.

In the midst of her tears, Liz felt a hand touch her shoulder and she spun around and threw her arms around the person. "Oh Lucky, I love you so much" Liz sobbed in hysterics. "You forgave me?!" With that last comment, Liz planted a huge kiss on the persons lips, kissing with more passion than ever before.

"I don't know about Lucky." said the deep male voice, "But if you keep kissing me like that, *I'll* forgive you."

"Lucky," Nik said when Lucky returned to Kelly's and took back his seat at the breakfast bar. "What happened with Liz?"

"She wanted me to forgive her and she wanted us to get back together." Lucky said.

"Oh Lucky, that's great!" Gia said enthusiastically, "Nik and I are together, you and Liz are together, and the divorce will be settled. Everything's going to be back to normal."

"No Gia." Lucky refused, shaking his head.

"I--I don't understand." Gia said, her eyes narrowing with confusion.

"I'm not going to forgive her Gia." Lucky said, his eyes blazing. "I trusted her not to go near Jason, and then I find her in bed with him! I just can't put my heart out on the line again. There was a time when Liz was a honest person, but now, now it's just all so different. Every word out of her mouth is a lie, and I can't take it anymore."

"I'm sorry Lucky." Gia said, reaching over to rub his arm. That single, innocent gesture made Lucky's desire to have Gia even more powerful. He closed his eyes, trying to block out her touch.

"We should go." Nik broke Lucky out of his trance.

Thank god, Lucky thought, I couldn't take much more of Gia touching me. I want her....god I want her....

"Alright." Gia agreed, sliding the chair out and raising her body until she was standing. "Lucky, I'll call you later, and we'll go down to the bureau to file for divorce, okay?"

"Yeah, sure Gia." Lucky nodded his head absently, trying to clear his mind of the erotic thoughts involving him and Gia.

Once Nik and Gia were gone, Lucky let out his breath. "Oh god," he muttered to himself, "What have I gotten myself into now...."

~*~Somewhere In Russia~*~

Liz slowly opened her eyes, and gasped at the sight around her. It was nothing. There were no chairs, to tables, no nothing. Not even lights. It was all pitch black. Liz's breath turned to quick gasps as she tried to maintain her composure.

"God, where am I?" she asked out loud. Her voice bounced across the walls and she jumped when she heard it echo.

"You asked the question, I have the answer." came a deep male voice.

"Who--who are you?" Liz asked shakily. She couldn't see anything, and therefore couldn't identify the voice.

"That's none of your concern at the moment." the voice replied harshly, "What is your concern is whether you're going to give me what I want and leave unharmed, or whether you want to be difficult."

"What do you want from me?!" Liz screamed, tears falling freely down her face.

"All in good time, dear." the voice replied, "But for now, what exactly am I forgiving you for?"

"What?!" Liz replied, a flee of emotions rushing through her head.

"When I saw you outside of Kelly's. You hugged me and kissed me and begged me to forgive you. So what exactly am I forgiving you for?"

Liz racked her brains for several seconds before remembering what had happened outside of Kelly's with Lucky. "I...I thought you were someone else."

"Obviously."

Liz tried desperately to remember who the person was that grabbed her, but after a few minutes, she groaned at the realization that that picture was wiped from her mind permanently. She would just have to wait for him to show himself.

~*~L&B~*~

"Gia, I'm sorry we have to come here, but I forgot some things for Juan's tour and I--"

"No, it's okay." Gia stopped him mid sentence. "Just hurry up, the sooner you get what you need, the sooner we can get out of here."

Nik nodded and made his way to his office, where he unlocked the door and went in. He gathered up his things and was about to leave the office when he spotted a small pink envelope sitting on his desk, propped up against the phone. He saw it had his name written on it, so he picked it up and tore it open. His jaw dropped to the floor when he read what was inside.

My Darling Nikolas,

You'll never be able to forget the times we had together, and you know in your heart that Gia will never be able to satisfy you the way I did. And the way I will continue to. I know you said it's over, but you don't mean it. It will never be over. I will see you again, very soon. Be waiting for me.
