Everyone Makes Mistakes: 4

Lucky grabbed Gia by the arm and ripped her out of Nik's embrace.

"Lucky?!" Nik screamed, but by the time the words left Nik's mouth, Lucky already had her up the stairs.

"Whoa!" Nik said, sitting back down on the stool. "What was that about?"

Liz shook her head. "I don't know. But I do know that Lucky's not to happy with me."

"Why Liz, what happened?" Nik asked, taking a sip of coffee.

Liz took a deep breath as she tore off a piece of muffin and popped it in her mouth. "Lucky walked in on me and Jason yesterday."

"So?" Nik asked, unaware of what her and Jason's relationship consisted of. "What's the big deal?"

"Nikolas, we were sleeping together." Liz told her.

Nik spit out his coffee and began to choke. Once he recovered he turned to Liz, his face still red from his near-death experience with the coffee. "You were what?!"

"I know, it was stupid, but I just...Jason gives me something Lucky doesn't." Liz tried to justify. "And, I just....I don't know, I don't know!!"

"Liz..." Nik began, his face turning dark at his thoughts. "Lucky walked in on you and Jason last night, and Gia walked in on me and Coral...Do you think Gia and Lucky were together last night?"

~*~Lucky's Room~*~

Gia was panting by the time Lucky shut the door behind them, and she rubbed the arm that Lucky had grabbed so violently.

"Lucky!" she screamed, batting him in the arm with her fist. "What do you think you're doing?!"

"Gia, let me see your hand." Lucky demanded.

"What?!"

"Just give me your hand." Lucky demanded again.

Gia chuckled as Lucky grabbed her arm and took her hand with his free one. "Lucky, if you're going to ask for my hand in marriage, you might want to rethink it!" Gia said sarcastically as she continued to laugh.

"Gia..."

"Yeah Lucky?"

"I think I already did."

"What??!!" Gia cried, looking down at her hand and doing a double-take when she saw the gold ring on her left ring finger. "Oh my god. Oh my god. Tell me this didn't happen. Tell me it didn't happen." Gia continued to beg while Lucky rummaged around on his bedroom floor.

"I wish I could." Lucky answered, "But I can't."

"Why not?!" Gia demanded.

Lucky held up his left and there was a glistening ring on his finger. In his other hand was a slip of paper. She ripped the paper out of his hands, sat down on his bed and began to read. Her eyes widened as they scrolled the page. "Oh no..." Gia sobbed. "I marriage certificate??!!"

~*~Downstairs at Kelly's~*~

"No Nikolas." Liz disagreed. "I don't think so."

"Why not Liz?" Nik asked, "It makes perfect sense. Lucky was upset with you, Gia was upset with me. What proof is there that they weren't upset together?"

"What proof is there that they were?" Liz asked, waving her hands in the air. "Nikolas, you are jumping to conclusions!"

"Okay then, what was that all about?!" Nik asked, pointing towards the stairs that Lucky had just pulled Gia up.

"I don't know Nikolas." Liz answered, taking another bite of her muffin.

"What if I'm right Elizabeth?" Nik asked, "What *if* I'm right?"

Liz's mouth opened a shut a few times, as if searching for an answer. "I don't know. I just don't know. Okay?"

Nik nodded his head as he took the muffin from Liz, took a large bite, and replaced it to her hand. "That's what I thought!"

Just then Lucky and Gia walked down the stairs, both with very blank expressions on their faces. Nik jumped from his seat when he saw them and ran over to where they were standing, Liz following closely behind.

"Alright, what was that all about?" Nik asked, his eyes full of question.

"I...Nikolas..."Gia stuttered, "Nikolas, something happened."

Liz eyes grew wide with wonder as she looked from Lucky to Gia.

"What happened, Gia?" Nik asked.

"We...I..." Gia tried to find the words to explain to Nik, which was difficult because she didn't quite understand it herself. But hey, that's what alcohol does to your brain! "Nikolas, after I saw you with Coral at L&B, I went to Jake's and I saw Lucky there."

Nikolas nodded, "Go on."

"And, he was upset about Elizabeth and I was upset about you, and we kinda got drunk." Gia explained. "And we slept together."

Nik let out a sigh but he knew that he had done worse. He was in his proper state of mind when he cheated on Gia, and he knew it was his fault all of this had happened. "Oh Gia." he said as he wrapped his arms around her. "Gia, it's okay, I forgive you."

Gia looked up at him and smiled. "Oh Nikolas, thank you so much. I don't know what I would've done it you hadn't forgiven me. But...there's more."

"More?" Nik and Liz replied in unison.

"Yes." Lucky said. "He grabbed Gia's hand and held up his own beside hers, "We got married."

"You what?!" Nik bellowed as he grabbed Gia's hand and looked at the ring on her finger.

"Yes." Gia replied, holding up the certificate. "Nikolas we were drunk out of our minds."

"I see that." Nik replied. He took a deep breath as he let it all settle in his mind. "Okay, we all just have to calm down. Let's have breakfast."

They all took their seats at the breakfast bar, and began to eat.

"Nik, I'm so sorry all this happened, I should've just came home and tried to work things out but, I....I was stupid." Gia sputtered.

"No Gia." Nik took her chin in his hand, "You weren't stupid. I was stupid. I was stupid for having something with Coral. I was stupid for not being faithful to you. I was stupid for putting a wonderful relationship in jeopardy."

"I was stupid too." Liz squeezed into the conversation, directing her words at Lucky. "I shouldn't have ever been with Jason. I love you Lucky, only you."

Lucky didn't respond, he simply sat there and poked at his food.

"Well, first thing's first." Nik took charge. "You two," he began pointing one finger at Gia and one at Lucky, "have to file for divorce."

Everybody agreed but one, and everyone turned to face Lucky. "Lucky?" Gia asked. "We'll go file for divorce today, okay?"

Lucky took a deep breath and looked up from his food. "To tell you the truth, I'm not so sure I want to."
