Nikolas opened the door to his and Gia's hotel room and peeked his head inside. They had to stay in a hotel until the PCPD figured out what had caused the carbon monoxide, and fixed it. Gia was facing the window, so he stepped in to see if she was sleeping.

"Gia?" Nik whispered.

"I'm awake." She replied, without turning over to face him.

Nikolas knew she wouldn't move if she could help it, so he walked to the other side of the bed to talk to her.

"Gia" Nik began, "I was thinking, maybe we could go for a walk or something. I think we both could use some fresh air. Gia you haven't been out of the house since the babies died. I know you're upset, and I am just as sad as you are, but I think we should go out, just for a little while."

Gia sat up and looked at him. "You're right Nikolas. I've been a bump on a log since we lost the babies, I'm sorry."

"Oh no, Gia." Nik said, taking her hands in his. "Don't be sorry. I understand why you've been staying in, and I feel the same way. I would just love to crawl into a hole and die. But I can't Gia. And neither can you. It's not your fault the babies died, it's my fault. I should have been there, I should have never left you. We lost the babies because of some stupid work at L&B." Nik said, covering his face with his hands.

"No." Gia said, pulling down his hands to reveal his tear-stained face, "It's not your fault either."

Just then the phone rang. Nikolas reached over to the night-table and picked it up.

"Hello? It's your brother Gia, he said he found out how the house was filled with carbon monoxide."

Nikolas put the phone on speaker, so that him and Gia could both listen to what Marcus had to say.

"Hey Gia, baby how are you doing?" Marcus asked with concern.

"I'm alright Marcus. What did you find out?" Gia asked. She was grateful that he was concerned for her, but she really just wanted to find out how she had been poisoned.

Nikolas climbed into bed beside Gia and wrapped his arms around her. She returned the hug and held onto him for dear-life.

"Okay, well you guys had the fireplace going and the chimney was plugged. We checked it out, and there was a piece of wood jammed into the top of the chimney. The wood couldn't have just been a fallen tree though because it was cut perfectly to fit snugly in the opening of the chimney. She chimney couldn't let out the carbon monoxide from the fire through the chimney, so it seeped through the entire house. And that, is what happened." Marcus analyzed for them.

"So, Marcus, do you think it was intentional?" Nik asked, wrapping himself even tighter around Gia.

"I'd bet my badge on it." Marcus confirmed.

"Helena, or Elizabeth?" Gia asked knowingly.

"I don't think Elizabeth could do something like this--" Nik began,

"Oh, right. She can't get her hands dirty." Gia interrupted them.

Nik just chuckled at her and said, "I think Helena is perfectly capable of doing this. She probably got her boy-toy Andreas to do it for her, but I know she's behind it."

"Well Nikolas, I agree with you completely." Marcus said, "But there is no way we can prove it. There is absolutely no physical evidence to lead back to your grandmother."

"I know," Nik agreed. "That's her style for murder."

"Thank you so much Marcus." Gia said, as she hung up the phone and turned to Nik. "I think I'm ready to go out."

"Wait Gia," Nik said, grabbing her arm. "You're not going after Helena are you?"

"No Nikki." Gia said, "I honestly don't think I can handle her. Before I thought she was nothing, but she killed our babies. She's a murderer. I am scared of her."

"Alright Gia." Nik said, "Just don't ever go after her. Now you know what she'll do. I couldn't stand to lose you too."

"You won't Nikki, you won't" she reassured him with a kiss.

~*1/2 Hour Later*~

Nikolas and Gia walked through the park, Nik with his arms wrapped around her shoulders. Gia spotted Liz sitting on a nearby bench and turned to Nik.

"Um, honey, why don't you go ahead to Kelly's get us some coffee, I'll catch up with you in a few minutes." Gia told him, her eyes never leaving Liz.

"Gia, are you sure?" he asked, taking her hand and turning her face to look in his eyes.

"Yes, I'm sure. I'll catch up with you." Gia said, nodding her head and kissing him on the cheek as he left.

Gia strode up behind the bench Liz was sitting on and bent her head down so that it was only centimeters away from Liz's.

"Hey!" Gia yelled into Liz's ear, causing her to jump from her spot on the bench.

"Oh my god!!!" Liz screamed, turning around to face Gia. "Oh....Gia."

"Yeah, nice to see you too Lizzie." Gia said, taking a few steps towards Liz, in turn causing Liz to take a few steps back. "Oh, what's the matter Elizabeth? You aren't scared are you?"

"N-No." Liz stuttered, her face turning pale. "I'm really sorry about your babies Gia. I--"

"Like hell you're sorry!" Gia screamed at her. "You wanted my babies to die and you know it!!!"

"No, I didn't Gia." Liz denied. "I didn't give you carbon monoxide poisoning!!"

"No, you didn't. I believe that. But you did give me food poisoning." Gia yelled. "You could've killed my babies then."

"But I didn't" Liz said quietly.

"You didn't, but you could have" Gia shot back at her. "You could have. And just because my babies didn't die then doesn't make it any less wrong. And Elizabeth, I am going to make you pay for that." Gia rose her hand above her head and brought it flying down on Liz's face.

Liz held her hand on her face, her eyes wide, and her mouth hanging wide open. Liz knew she couldn't take Gia, so decided to plead. "Gia, please, I--"

"You don't think you can mess with a girl from Brooklyn do you?" Gia asked laughing. "Smart move, try to plead for me not to hurt you. Well Liz, that's not going to work. If I knew you would try to harm my babies, I would've pleaded with you, but I didn't have time, so I'm not going to give you time to plead with me."

Gia brought her hand above her head once again and slapped Liz on the other side of her face. "That is for my babies!" she screamed.

Gia grabbed Liz's dark mop of hair and snapped her head down to the ground with one quick jerk. "That's is for Nikolas!!" she screamed.

Gia curled her fingers into a fist and punched Liz with all of her might in the stomach. "That is for me!!!" she screamed.

Liz was now on the ground, curled into a ball, crying out in pain. Gia lifted her leg and kicked her in the side, with one swift movement. "And that,"Gia lowered her voice, "Is just for fun."

Gia picked up her purse and walked along the walkway, and into Kelly's, leaving Elizabeth on the ground in the park, crying. Gia had been in pain for the past month, but now, someone else was screaming it out for her.
