Scene 23 - The Hitler Youth

Shocked about not being dead, Parallaxis, Sardy, and Che awaken in a confinement area of Trekk Towers’ Hitler Youth reeducation center. Sardy theorizes that whatever broke through the wall back in the hallway must have been using some sort of stun device. Inside the center they meet the community leader known as DEA. The Trolls ask why Miss Manners is not with them and DEA simply responds by saying that she is in the process of joining the community. He informs the captured Trolls that once they have been reeducated that they too will join the community.
The Trolls meet sturmde a former Hitler Youth member sentenced to be reeducated for a second time. Sturmde explains that the Hitler Youth view the machines as their gods. They believe that by serving the machines that they too may one day become gods. When he witnessed some of his fellow Youth being banned from the Towers to the research centers he began to question the machine’s master plan. He was immediately placed in the confinement area and sentenced to a second reeducation process.
Che changes the subject back to Miss Manners and demands to know where the Youth have taken her. Sturmde explains that reeducation of anyone over the age of thirteen has never held, but due to the manpower needed to finish the Terminator Factory the machines have been forced to branch out in their recruitment process. The Youth’s head biologist Lizard Laugh has been put in charge of perfecting a new reeducation process. So far the process has been fatal to all its subjects. Except for one. There’s a rumor in the confinement area about a subject named Scotty. It seems that an attempt to create a Youth super solider went wrong and the subject escaped to the tunnels beneath the Towers. The subject itself is a half man / half machine solider that has gone insane and kills any Youth member who enters the tunnels. Out of fear the Youth have begun calling the subject SkinOfEvil. Before Sturmde can tell them anymore he is taken by the guards to be Lizard Laugh’s next victim – his final reward for his service to the machines.
[An hour or longer passes.]
Sardy turns to Parallaxis and ask how long they’ve been in the confinement area. Parallaxis replies by saying it shouldn’t be too much longer before Lizard Laugh sends for them. DEA and a guard approach the Troll’s cell. Sardy feels this is truly the end. Without warning DEA takes out a knife from under his coat and stabs the guard in the back. Sardy, Che, and Parallaxis can only stand in amazement as the guard’s body falls to the floor. DEA explains that a few members of the community’s ruling counsel have begun to question whether the machines are really gods. Although unwilling to confront them publicly, DEA has been waiting and quietly collecting information about the machines. Now what DEA has discovered has sent his world crashing down around him. As DEA opens the Troll’s cell doors he reveals that the machines plan to exterminate all the Youth camps once the Troll Factory is fully operational. Their only chance is to get out of the Towers as soon as possible.
