Pilot Mountain State Park is located near Pinnacle, NC which is north of Winston-Salem. There is at least one moderate trail, and some really tough trails to go hiking on. This picture is on the trail beside the main pinnacle cliff.

My hiking partner Theresa along one of the rocky portions of the trail. Note the yellow blaze on the tree indicating the trail. For those who may not be familiar with how trails are marked, a blaze is typically a single or double marker, painted or nailed along a route. All blazes at Pilot Mountain are single markers which are both nailed and painted.

Steep cliffs are a common feature in much of the park.
