Hiking Notes
THINK SAFETY FIRST!
Please meet at each hike location at 8:45 AM so we can step off promptly at
9 AM. This may help us return to the cars by 11 AM.
We hike rain or shine, although lightning will cancel a hike.
Wear comfortable footwear with good grips on the soles and socks that wick
moisture away from your feet.
Wear layers and avoid cotton on a cool day.
Apply bug repellant and sunblock.
Bring a snack and water-please drink plenty of water especially as it warms
up.
Walking sticks are helpful for your balance and it puts less pressure on
your knees on a downhill trail.
Check for ticks after each hike.
Please stay together as a group. Make sure you can see the person in front
of you.
Carpool to the hikes if possible-sometimes parking is limited.
Check a map to go along with my written directions. If you are confused,
call me or email.
We have 8 official hikes, but I have also listed a number of what I call
unofficial hikes. These vary in length, time, etc. I have not hiked most of
these trails ahead of time, so they can be an adventure. I have tried to give
you as much information as I can, but being flexible is a positive trait on
these treks.
