Siiiiigh
Mood:  quizzical
Now Playing: Holy Water- Big and Rich
I only use quizzical b/c they don't have tired and I spent like an hour taking my pre-lab and pre-lecture quizzes for Chemistry. That class is uber-craptacular.

Siiiigh. But I refuse to let it make me mad anymore.

Sooo. Liz and Jillian and I had a sleepover last night out in the tent. We cooked hobo dinners in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows. No campfire songs though.

Argh; good thing for Big and Rich. I couldn't make it without them.

Liz, J and I went down to the Edina Mill park. I almost caught a crayfish in the creek. But I missed my chance and he jetted away under a rock.

Then I noticed a big dead fish in the water stuck up in some rocks. I decided to set it free so I got a big stick and let the water take it. It traveled down stream a little and got caught up under a big log. I tried to get over there to free it, but it didn't work out so well-- I decided since you couldn't really see it anymore that that would have to do.

Anyway; that's about all that I feel like mentioning.

Just another day in Paradise
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: My Happy Ending- Avril
Yay for the first day of school. New college, new location, blah blah blah.

Colin drove me down there an hour earlier than he had to be there and helped me get to St. Paul and find my first class. I was uber-nervous, and prolly would have been late if I'd have had to find it myself and take the bus! So I'm uber-grateful to him.

Once I got to class (Equine Anatomy and Exercise Physiology) we all sat around for quite a while, cuz the prof was late. Anyway; she droned on and on about the syllabus like we couldn't read. Sigh.

After that I had a big break. I went down to Minnepolis and was going to get my U Pass but the line was dissapearing into the horizon, so I opted out. Instead, I found my next class (American Indian Oral Traditions) and sat outside persuing the bus schedules, figuring out my options for getting home.

A ladybug Ladybug 4decided to grace me with it's presence as I sat there and crawled all over my backpack.

I went inside and found me a lefty-desk. It was in the back row, but I was okay with that. We got some intro info and learned how to think like beavers.Otter

After that I was late to my next class (Animal Production Systems) It sounds uber-lame and boring. And I don't have to take it. So I might not.

We got out pretty early, so I went and got. . . MORE BUS SCHEDULES!!!Raise The Roof 1 Muwah- ha ha ha. I meandering back down to the Vet Med building and sat outside- musing over maps, snacking, and filling out my new voter's registration.Bush/Cheney Now I don't have to get an absentee ballot. LuckyClover me!

I still had 35 minutes before lab, so I went inside and started writing in my journal. I didn't have time to finish before I had to go back outside for lab. (Equine Anatomy and Physiology)

Miracle of miracles, the prof was NOT THERE!! Even though the entire class was. I sat down and started writing again. Then some morons came out and decided to smoke upwind of me so I was littered with ash and had to breath the toxic second-hand fumes before I finally gave them a dirty look and moved.

Finally we went to the Teaching Barn and pulled out some horses. HorseOur group had Sierra. We had to write down all the anatomy we knew on some sheet. We didnt' really need the horses, but whatever. Then we got a mini lecture on anterior/posterior; medial/lateral, blah blah blah, I was bored to tears and just wanted to GO HOME!

When I was finally released from that agony I booked it on down to the CMU to get my U Pass, praying that the line was not long. Fingers Crossed And it wasn't! I was so happy.

I made it over to the buses,Bus figured out which ones were coming and made it one without incident. The 114C was the first one that came so I took that one. That took me to Uptown, where I transferred to the 17C. Some dude sat next to me for a while and he had the same dragon shirt Wilson has.

Anyway. I made it without incident or hardship or getting lost so I was grinning the whole way home. I was cutting through the steps on the hill so I wouldn't have to walk around the dead end. I was just thinking, "Gee I hope the people who live here don't come out here and get mad at me for cutting through their yard. . ." When. . . some dude came out the house and I was like. . ohhhhh maannnnn!!!.... "Uhhh, do you mind if I cut through your yard?" (As I was already halfway through it) But he was nice and didn't care. So that was good.

Anyway; here I am, and here I'll be.

Blech, Too many Jalepeno Chips
Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: Stacy's Mom- Fountains of Wayne
Well, congrats to Rayrul for her newly opened world of blogging. I wish I could say the same of Jesus-Maria, but also he is but a poor cactus. Though for some reason, he is blog-worthy. And on a plus note, you prolly won't have to learn any html at all, thanks to Angelfire's new setup.

I just went out to check the mail and lo and behold my final book at arrived! Yahoo! No pretty pictures though. And I'm pretty sure that it smells funny.

Chantel just got home from school; boasting of two snowcones. Camille missed the bus this morning. So I had to give her a ride. Then I just stayed up and read and finished Alta and the same for Cannery Row.

I saw Dodgeball the other day with Colin and Nicole. It was really good if you liked Zoolander too. But of course nothing compared to the superior Hero.

So what to do, what to do? I'll prolly go pump up the old bike tires and ride somewheres.

Later and Love, Gretel Vaughn

Mood:  on fire
Now Playing: some country gospel I think
All right, well to satisfy the Gretel fans out there I guess I make an entry.

The Ren Fest was fun. The same as ever I guess. Lizzy was given a quest by Frodo and Pippin. She had to deliver a letter to Bilbo Baggins.

We watched some different shows and walked around, all the usual things.

Anyway, got things to do and people to see

Back by Popular Demand
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: Wild West Show- Big and Rich

Uh oh, looks like angelfire has gone a little "LJ" to attract more users. Oh well, guess I'm not complaining. Unless they're emoticons are really lame. . . I mean come on, with options like "vegas lucky" or "accident prone," who can go right?

On other notes I'm back in the land of ice and snow. Most things are looking put together for my first semester at the U. I just have to find out whether I really need the 3rd edition of my chem book or if the 2nd will do.

The Ren Fest is coming up and I have no idea what I will wear! So to avert certain fashion tragedy I guess I will look into things today.

Other than that today I'll just do some random stuff, maybe get a book started. Fascinating stuff, ay?

Heat Wave

Man, it's hot in Denver. It hit 100 today. I was almost glad to work to have some relief from the sun. My mom and sister showed up today unexpectedly from their "Surrealism Tour". So that was a nice surprise. They're gonna come back to Denver to go to Waterworld in a few days.

(Speaking of surprise a gnat just flew up my nose).

Work was nothing new. Except that I was in the fitting room. Blah. Wilson came by and chatted with me for a while. And he found his anniversary ring that he wanted. :)

We didn't want to go home after I got off, so we decided to go bowling. It was really fun. I'm started to bowl left-handed, but I'm about equally bad with either :(. I still haven't broken 100 yet, perhaps I'm cursed.

Wilson and I stopped at King Soopers on the way back to resolve our midnight munchies. Mmmmmm grapes and Muenster cheese. (Not together of course, but late night cravings are the best.)

So since my last blog I:

  • Watched fireworks at T.J.'s
  • Drove down to Wheat Ridge for no apparent reason except to by Asiago bagels and Jalapeno cream cheese (my compliments Dan, it was delicious)and a banana
  • Watched King Arthur
  • Locked my keys in the car and had to wait an hour in the cold night air for it to be opened.
  • Stayed up all night to go fishing an hour away, catch nothing, read a book and drive home.
  • Worked 11 hours in one days.
  • Worked a whole bunch
  • Read Joust
  • Finished Storm Costantine
  • Read the 2nd and 3rd Evangelion
  • Went to Waterworld with TJ and Brooke and of course Wilson :)
  • Helped Wilson do newspapers
  • Polished off 2 more bags of Lay's Jalapeno chips, mmmmmmmmmm
  • Started , I have yet to gain interest in the story.
  • Watched a movie about the origin of dogs
  • Watched Analyze That and realized afterward that it was the 2nd movie not the first.

All right, I think that's it.

Sorry!

Life in Colorado's been pretty busy.

I went white-water rafting (for free!) with Wilson, Matt and Mandy. It was really fun. Though I did get my legs all burnt up. The most excitement we had was a solid Class III rapids. That was fun.

I had to call into work that day becuase I wouldn't have made it back from Buena Vista in time.

The night before Wilson took me out on a date. We went to eat at P.F. Changs (mmmm, Great Wall of Chocolate!!!) and then went to go see Spiderman. The 10:50 showing was really packed out. It was fun to see though.

I had Friday off. It was really hot, so I mostly just read. Wilson and I had an argument, but we resolved it later. I read this morning while Wilson was at work. I finally finished the Storm Constantine series, with which I was impressed. Once he got home he and I went with his mom to King Soopers and Wal-mart. She was all puzzled cuz I was having one of my laughing-at-nothing-for-no-apparent-reason fits.

At work I had pretty easy zones. But it still took us until 11:30 to finish for whatever reason. (Namely the greater of many evils was closing tonight). I finished writing Katie a story at lunch. And I took my break with Ian, which is always fun. We had fun zoning frozen too. I don't see why people hate it so much, it feels so nice now that it's summer.

Tomorrow (or today) I have to work in the morning. But I'll be getting time and a half, PLUS I get to see the fireworks, so that's not bad in my estimation.

Life in Colorado's been pretty busy.

Let's see, since my last blog I've:

  • Drove back to CO
  • Dropped Camille off at Collette's
  • Worked a bunch
  • Read like crazy
  • Went up to Evergreen to visit Matt's new house
  • Bought a tent
  • Tented in Matt's basement (very uncomfortable)
  • Saw Shrek 2 with Mitch and Ian
  • Went to a party at Sarah's
  • Went to the Target BBQ
  • Watched Cold Mountain
  • Went to Waterworld

I think that's it thus far.

Love Gretel
