Update: I now have a new photo gallery, with 2 of these photos and a bunch of new ones, on this page.

I'm a beginning photographer, who's had no formal instruction whatsoever. I'm in a basic photography class now, but we haven't done much at all yet. Most of what I know I've learned from a great book (Photography for Dummies) and from Kodak's Website, which is full of great information.

Here're a bunch of photos that I've taken! Some are in color, these were all taken with a little tiny Olympus Stylus Epic Zoom 80 Deluxe compact camera; the black and white ones were shot with a friend's Minolta SLR machine. Enjoy, and please send me any comments you might have here!

I shot this one in my room in my house in Argentina. I was pretty much just experimenting with creating depth of field with different apertures, and this one turned out quite well, I think.

This is from the view on top of the new bridge in Viedma. It was hard to get a steady shot because of all the trucks that rumble over the bridge, but this one came through. I did some touch up work with Adobe Photodeluxe to get rid of some dust, and to change the tone and color balances, but all of the good stuff comes right out of the original negative.

These plants are growing in the little park by our house. They're so nice and uniform that I had to stop and take this shot.

This is the new bridge of Viedma, looking west from the costanera. I didn't have a big tripod handy, just my little ultrapod, so I velcroed this handy device to my bike frame and put on the self-timer to eliminate shaking.

An interesting tree trunk, that to any people looks like part of an elephant!

Looking over the top of a waterfall in Iguazu National Park in Misiones.

A nice pink sunset over Rio Negro.

In the same spot as the above photo, but a few weeks before. This dog just happened to sit still and look out over the water for me, what luck!

This is right in front of our house, on a very rare windless day. The bridge itself isn't that pretty, but combined with the almost perfect reflection, it looks allright.

All right, all right, this is the last picture of the new bridge, I'll admit I take too many of it.

When I took this frame, I was worried there wasn't enough light to really provide a good picture. Boy, was I wrong! I think this is the best shot of the roll.

Here's the roof above my room. I used a 200mm zoom to get this one, because I felt too lazy to go get the ladder.

Here's another reflection shot, I really like how the texture of the stones and pebbles continue through the shadow of the branch above.

This is a totally natural tree in the park by my house in Argentina. I'm pretty sure this is where a branch broke off, then healed over.

Nothing special, just a close-up of strange-looking fir cones.

The famous Cataratas of Iguazú!

Some argentine collectibles that I've acquired over this year.

A perfectly still lake near San Martín de los Andes.

Our mailbox from Brazil.

A close-up of Jenny's new paint job on the porch railing-it's supposed to look old.

The reflection of the onramp to the new bridge in Ramiro's bedroom window. Note the graffiti inside on his walls that all of his friends write!
