Tension radiated visibly from Kathryn's body.

"What's wrong?"

"He's doing it again."

"Who's doing what?"

Kathryn clenched her teeth. "Paris. Whistling tunelessly."

Chakotay glanced at Tom.

"So order him to stop."

"That's what he wants me to do", she said shortly.

Chakotay looked dubious.

"He only does it on my shift, to test my resolve. It's psychological
warfare."

"It's just a habit."

She shook her head.

They sat a few minutes more, as Tom's whistling echoed across the bridge.

"I'm going to my ready room", Kathryn announced, and stalked towards the door.

At the conn, Tom smiled, then fell silent.
