Chapter 8
Nick stalled for a breif second,all of Brians words flooding into his head.Then Jeffreys words.
Kevin may be your..'friend'..but we're your family
So he had made his choice,but he didn't know how to go about it.
'Passion,Nick.Center it.'Brians voice.
'How do I center it?'
'Think of all the things you have a passion for.Just..center it.'
Before Nick could reply,Brian was standing next to him.Nick closed his eyes,allowing flashes of recording music,and concerts,crowds of fans,and his family and friends to flood his mind.Before he knew what was happening he had outstretched his hand and a black light was flooding from it right into Kevin.Kevin let out a yelp before directing his light at Nick.
"I always used to think of you as a second father,Kev."Nick shook his head in disgust.
"I'm just defending my race.Just like you Nicky boy."
"Yeah,but your race is evil."
"Than so am I."
Another Kalzer appeared behind Kevin,and Brian aimed his palm at him.He concentrated on Faith.On God.
Ara was on her knees,her head resting against the littered pavement.Her breathing was shallow,and her hands clutched at the paper of the streets.She was quickly rebuilding as many walls as she could,slowly regaining strength.She looked for the color yellow inside her mind.She located it.
'AJ'
Ara seemed to breath his name in his mind.
'Ara?'AJ asked,awakening from his slumber.
'AJ,we need your help.'
'We?'
'Me,and Nick..and Brian.We went to Garal to find..sixth person.Some Kalzers showed up.'
'I can't do that shit you did.'
Ara closed him off,building up her walls again.AJ rose from his bed and paced the room.
'What am I?'He asked Brian.
'Not right now AJ.'
'No..what uh..ya know.'
'Huh?!'
'Like..Ara gave me this feeling of love wh-'
'Compassion,AJ.Bye'
AJ paced the room again.
"Compassion..compassion."He mumbled.
Ara looked up from her spot on the ground.Brians color was strong,blindingly intense.The man that was fighting him seemed to be growing weaker.Nick and Kevin were in a stalemate.She slowly rose from the ground when she saw a third Kalzer.She hadn't noticed the change in wind,but her hair was whipping all around her face.The clothes on the left side of her body snugged tightly to her skin,while the right side blew it in the wind.She aimed her palm at the third Kalzer whos face was hidden behind a hood.She was sorrowfully surprised when she realized that no color was coming from her palm.The third Kalzer was already in attack,aiming the palm at her as a brilliant purple escaped it.As the purple hit her body,she was met with blinding emotional pain.Images of all the bad and painful things that had ever happened to her flooded her mind.Just before the tears obscured her vision,the Kalzers hood flew from his head from the wind.Ara stood in shock as higher waves of emotional pain came crashing down apon her.
Brian was doing fine against 'his' Kalzer,untill a second one showed up.The same went with Nick.Nick reached out numbly towards Ara.
'Go get the sixth!Hurry!'He yelled into her mind.
Ara heard it faintly and after a few seconds of trying,she finally managed to dissapear.
Meanwhile,AJ found that he had not yet reached the level in which he could center his power into his palm.He closed his eyes to find Ara,to see how they were.To see if he could possibly do anything else.He found his calling when he found Aras color,the blue much more fainter than ever.He also found the whirlwind of emotions that she was going through.He sat onto the bed and concentrated on flowing his power into her.
Ara stumbled around a room,barely able to stand on her own two feet.
"Who are you?"A male voice asked,a sence of femininity laced through it.
'Take my hand.Hurry.Danger.'Ara told him,barely finding enough strength to mind to him,let alone talk aloud.
"Who are you?What are you doing here?"
'Go with her.'AJ told the man,commanding his mind.
The man reached out and took Aras hand,gasping at the emotion that came with it.After a few seconds,with all of Aras strength,and all of AJs,Ara and the man disappeared.
'Come back.'AJ weakly told Brian.
Brian sent the message to Nick,and after a short amount of time they both mustered up enough strength to disappear.
Kevin closed his palm and lowered it,staring at the empty place infront of him.
"We're your family now.They aren't,nor were they ever."A man spoke.
Kevin nodded knowingly before disappearing.
