Chapter 4
Ara woke up groggily.Her mind fealt like it did before she left.A little tired,but no pain.
"Hey.Think you sleapt long enough?"Roberts voice asked.
"No."Ara smiled.
"Two days you were out for."
"What?!"
"Yeah."He laughed.
"I guess I should find out my next distination."
"No more Earth?"
"As soon as I met all three,the feeling was gone."
"Well go shower and all.Dinner is in about 30 minutes.We'll name off some planets till you get that feeling of yours,and you'll leave tommorow."
Ara nodded as she got out of bed.
"How are they doing?"She asked.
"Good.Brian is fast.He should be up to you in about a week."
"Wow."
"Yeah.Nick should be done in about two.That uh..thing you both did rushed him a long a bit."
Ara blushed as she gathered clean clothes.
"AJ should take the longest it looks like.Maybe 6 weeks."
"Why that long?"
"He's hesitant about it all.He doesn't really believe it."
"He will.I'll shower now.See you in 30."She said,before dissapearing.
Ara appeared next to AJ at one of the table.He shreiked from surprise,but quickly regained himself.
"Don't do that."
Ara laughed at him,as she began to eat.
'How are you feeling?'Brian asked her through mind.
'Okay.My mind is a bit tired,but I'll be fine by tommorow.'
'YOUR mind is tired?!'
Ara laughed out loud.
'It feels like you need to rebuild a little'
'I do'she replied
'I was really worried about you'
'aww'Nicks voice came in.
Usually another person couldn't hear others voices in your mind,but Nick could in hers,and the same for her in Nicks.If Nick spoke into her mind while someone was in there,the other person couldn't hear it,only her and Nick could.For instance,Brian right now couldn't hear Nicks 'aww' only Nick and Ara could.Brian would only be able to hear it if he left Aras mind and went into Nicks.She was guessing it was because of what they did,and that now they shared some of the same colors.
'Like you weren't either'Ara shot at him.
'Huh?'Brian asked.
'Nothing'She replied,glaring at Nick.
He snickered and then returned to his meal.The other thing was that they could feel eachothers emotions.Like two days ago,after she showed Nick everything,she fealt his confusion.When he fealt how pissed she was at his snickering his head shot up.
'Chill Ara.I'm playing around with you'
'Don't snicker at me Nick.'
Nick looked at her curiosly and she fealt pressure on her brain.She pushed him away,knowing she was still stronger than him.
'Just let me in.'He pleaded with her.
She figured he should know so he would stop,so she let him in.She guessed it wasn't fair to get so defensive on him about it.It was her fathers fault,not his.Nick was taking a lot longer than he should have been.She was wondering if he was just slow,or he was snooping into more than he should have been.
'I am not slow'He told her.
She pushed him out of her memories.
'So that means you were snooping.Last time I let you in.'
'It helps to get to know a person better.'He smiled at her.
She went to go inside his head and was surprised that he didn't try to stop her.Nick was surprised at how gentle she was,and found himself continuing his meal like there wasn't someone inside his head looking through personal things.
Ara was so intrigued that she lost track of eating,and time for that matter.She skimmed through the important things in his life,and stopped on the age of thirteen.
'Backstreet Boys?What kind of name is that?'she thought,forgetting of the whole mind ordeal even though here she was looking through someones mind.
'Shutup.Keep reading and you'll find out why we picked it.'Nick replied.
Her body jumped from surprise,and Nick fealt the soft pang of that emotion.He raised his eyebrow curiosly,but continued on with his meal.He looked over at Ara and wondered if she would let him in.She did hesitantly.His life had no major secrets,but hers did.Her life also had a lot more pain.Of course it all worked out for her in the end,because he had a family to worry about,and she didn't.She didn't have anyone.
'Hey,you have us,don't you?'she 'heard' AJ ask.
'You?!Yeah right..you have maybe uttered oh..maybe 20 words to me sence we met'she replied.
'Sorry.It's just well..this shit freaks me out.'
'This shit freaks all of us out,AJ."
'Yeah.'he replied,and then he was gone.
Ara fealt sadness sweep over her,and looked up at Nick.She moved out of his mind,and pressed him gently out of hers.
'I think that's enough for now.'She said.
'Alright.'
She couldn't stand the sympathetic looks he gave her for the next 20 minutes.She finished her cold meal,and looked up at him,giving her another one of those same looks.
"Do it again and I'll cut your dick off and shove it so far up your ass,you'll choke on it."Ara spoke.
She meant to say it in her mind,but either way he knew it was coming when he fealt the anger rise up in him.Everyone at the table looked at her then at Nick.
'Sorry.'
'Whatever.'She replied before dissapearing.
Nick resisted the urge to fallow her and instead dissapeared to his own room.
