The Free Companion

Of course, before reading this module You have read the Green Cliffs Inn webpage pertaining to Free Women, and the one about Torvaldsland Free Women. Gasp! You haven't? Well, go and read that first, then continue.

Good, now You know, according to the scrolls what a Free Companion is.

I like Him, does He like Me? Where can I find an FC? I don't know how many times I've heard these questions in PM. If You only came to Gor to "find a man, get married and go have cybersex", there are a lot of other realms You can go and play in to achieve this. Gor is much more than just this, and if You're here to find true love on the internet, I will quickly direct You to the door. Being here is the entire role play. One doesn't have to be FC'd to achieve fulfillment, just like in r/t one doesn't have to be married to be a real woman.


The Courtship
A FM has been coming around a lot lately. He is very nice to You, compliments You, and starts bringing You presents. He talks to You more than He talks to the slaves. Chances are, He's interested and is trying to decide how to "make the first move". Of course, You two could have been cybering in PM. I don't wanna know. What I am here to explain is the Courtship process.

If You are receptive to His intentions, find out what those intentions are! You could be the next slave He's looking at. (Read the page again on FM). But if everything is on the up and up, He will approach Your Father, eldest Male member of Your family, or in their absence, the Jarl and declare His intention to court You.

Courting should be done in public, with a chaperone, if You keep to the standard of a demure, chaste and modest Free Woman of Gor. Believe Me, that is how You want to be portrayed. Act slutty, and You may find a ring of steel around Your neck instead of a ring of gold on Your finger.

What's allowed in public? Soft glances, warm looks of love, hand holding, walks together, sitting together, anything that slaves do NOT do. No lap sitting, passionate kissing, groping or fondling.

Being Intended
The next step is to be "Intended". You do not flirt or play with other FM. Your whois should be changed to reflect Your statis.

The Bride Price
The Father, eldest Male member of Your family, or Jarl will now set a Bride Price. That is, the amount of money They feel You are worth, to lose to this Rarius. Sometimes in Our Steading, this is left to Lady Lif. The FC cannot happen until the Bride Price is met and paid to the Jarl.

The FC Ceremony
You've already read this on the page. Make it as personal as You wish.Throw a party, and invite Your friends. Some make up announcements and post them, some announce it on the message board or in Gor News.

The only things that are standard, is the CONTRACT and sharing the Cup of Companionship Wine.

Your whois will now read " Free Companion to "name". This shows You and He are Free Companions (married). You will follow Him wherever He chooses to live, even if He's from another homestone.

Now in public, You can be a bit more demonstrative. Still nothing slutty! But You get the picture.

The Contract
You've also read about this on the page. Anyone in Green Cliffs Inn who is going to FC, will provide a written contract outlining the conditions of the FC to Lady Lif. Again, what You put into it is up to You two.

Afterwards
Congratulations, You are now FC'd for ONE ENTIRE CALENDAR YEAR. The only way an FC Contract can be void here, is if one of You are enslaved or one of You dies. Kinda final, huh? So please, make VERY sure this is "the one". I am serious. If You FC someone and then change Your mind, You are stuck with Him for one calendar year. We will allow a separation, but the contract is still in effect and neither one of You can FC anyone else until that year runs out, according to Gorean Law.

Of course, You can kill off Your character and get out of it that way. It's up to You.
A word on infidelity, if You are caught cybering with another Free Man while You are FC'd, You can face collaring, or death. If Your FC is unfaithful to You with another Free Woman, You have the right to void the contract. Cybering with slaves is not considered being unfaithful on either of You.

Once You are FC'd, do NOT go around blatantly flirting with other FM, and do not be unfaithful to Your FC. You've chosen Your partner, honor Him! You now come under Your FC's rule. His word is law unto You. Your actions reflect upon Him. At the base of every Rarius' bed, is bolted an iron ring. If You displease Him, You may find Yourself chained to this ring, naked and spending a night on the floor. Remember this. A Woman of Gor who is a Free Companion has more restrictions than a Free Woman who is single. So think long and hard before You put Yourself at the mercy of one particular FM.

Intimacy
What You do for Your FC in the privacy of the bedchamber (or PM ) is between YOU TWO.

Pregnancy
If You decide Your character is pregnant, congratulations! You will be pregnant for NINE MONTHS….nine REAL months, not this "oh this is cyber so I can go for a week" shit. I am so tired of these FW going through all the dramatics of having the baby, then You never hear of those "children" again. So be VERY sure You want to do this, and play it as real as possible.

This is a most serious topic, Sisters. I hope I haven't put a damper on Your expectations. But I've seen too much after My year on Gor to budge an inch on any of these conditions. So if You decide to go the FC route, HONOR it! If You decide to have cyber children, make it as real as possible. I don't care what You may have seen or heard on the rest of Gor, this is how Green Cliffs does it.
