He worked for Central Fibre Paper Mill (later called Packaging Corp.) till his retirement in 1961. Elijah & Tressie May Doser were married on May 29, 1920 at Lawrenceville, IL with Curtis Palmer (brother to Elijah) and Effie McClure (friend of Tressie) for their witnesses. After their marriage. Elijah and Tressie set up housekeeping at 219 W. Lyndale in Vincennes. They bought this home on March 14, 1924 where he lived till his death. Mr. Palmer held memberships in the Hart Street Christian Church and American Legion Post 73 in Vincennes. He died on Feb. 26, 1987 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was buried on March 2, 1987 in Fairview Cemetery, Vincennes, IN.
