Hello, welcome to the home page of our band; Soteriology. It's not much at the moment, but eventually there are plans for lots of pictures and colours.
Soteriology is a musical collaboration between two guys from Melbourne, Australia; Max Rosenbloom and Luke Tudor.
To describe what we stand for is kind of hard; we stand for a lot of different things and have a lot of ideals.
There's no single thing that we try to promote or criticise, there are many.
The word 'soteriology' refers to the doctrine of salvation as it pertains to religion.
That is not to say that we are a religous band, far from it; religion is one of the things we criticise and try to look at objectively.
Although our lyrics do contain some aspects of religion - especially Hindu and Buddhist - our motives are moral rather than religous.
We try to examine the phenomenon of salvation, and how - if at all - it can be achieved.
We don't want to give too much away about what we think and what we believe in; we want a listener to be free to interpret a song as it relates to them and their life.
We just want to offer something that people can enjoy on different levels if they want.
As yet we are unsigned but we've finished our first album, working on our second, and have lots more material.
So hopefully this is a good way for any potential distributors to find out more about us.
To describe the music; it is kind of like a cross between Radiohead, Coldplay, and Mogwai.
Piano driven and kind of a sweetly-melancholy sound; I propose that some of it is a bit creepy too.
