"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times".  It is hard to believe that 30 years have almost passed since we said our goodbyes and headed off into the unknown.  A future bright and shining with new possibilities and new experiences.  A future frightening to some whose homes had only been set in the bush and jungles and plains of the African landscape.  Whose only friends had been those we had lived and shared with in a dormitory environment.  Whose parents had answered the call of the mission field, often without any input from their children, who were sent away and sentenced to a boarding school lifestyle that many of us were unprepared or unhappily had to deal with on our own.  But by God's mercy, we endured and graduated.  To many, the friendships engendered by our experiences at RVA, have lasted even after all these years, often without word or contact.  And now, as we prepare for our 30 year reunion, we can come together again, as adults and with new experiences to share as we did 30 years ago.
