~*~Shikon No Tama~*~

Shikon No Tama....It is the treasure that both humans and youkai's look for. This jewel is what brought InuYasha and Kagome together,and Kikyou and InuYasha before. Shikon no Tama means "Jewel of Four Souls", and Shikon also stands for Arami Tama, Nikimi Tama, Fushigi Tama, and Sakimi Tama.These four are parts of the spirit or the heart. Arami Tama represents courage. Nikimi Tama represents friendship. Fushigi Tama represents wisdom. Sakimi Tama represents love. It starts out with a priestess named Midoriko. This priestess was said to be the most powerful in the world because of her ability to purify the souls of demons. Midoriko attempted to pull the demon's souls into her own heart to purify them, but in doing that released her own soul and the souls of the demons that she was fighting, from her body, which made the Shikon no Tama. Kagome had the Shikon no Tama inside her body, until it had fallen out due to a wound she took from Mistress Centepede in the 1st episode. Later on, the jewel was stolen by a black crow demon. With the mishap of Kagome's arrow striking the demon crow with the sacred jewel, it had exploded into many small pieces. Spreading through out the land, becoming many beams of light across the sky.This is how the adventure of the two begins,the journey of collectiong the shikon shards.

~*~Midorkio~*~

Midoriko as we know was an extremely powerful, and feared that demons would kill her for that purpose. When demons finally did seek her out, Midoriko fought for seven days and seven nights. When Midorikos strength was about to run out, she reached inside her self to seek inner strength from her soul. The soul turned into the Shikon No tama. but still inside the shikon no tama, Miroriko and the demons souls are still in battle, and will be until the shikon no tama is purified by a priestess. as we know Whoever holding the jewel can either turn it evil or pure. In a later episode, it shows that Kirara also fought next to Mirdoriko in battle so as i presume it looks like kirara was by her side until her death and met sango because in one of the episodes like i said it shows that kirara returns to the cave where she stood and look at her and fell asleep by her side.
