Chapter Thirty-Four
Speak Not

Down where everyone else was sitting in silence, the clock suddenly rang out,
making them all jump. 6 AM, only 4 hours left until ‘The Game’ was over.
Whether they defeated it or not would be told in those four hours.
Teri was frustrated beyond no end and spoke up, “Don’t you think the rest of us
should be defeating ‘The Game’ so this could be defeated sooner?”
“Yeah, but how are we suppose to defeat it?” Brian pointed out.
Everyone turned and looked at Laura, for she was the only one so far who had
defeated ‘The Game.’ Laura sighed and began to explain, “All you have to do is
believe it isn’t real and then start yelling it out. You have to know it isn’t real
though or it won’t work and you’ll fail. It’s what I did and I ended up winning.”
“That’s easier said then done,” Chris muttered, “that was some scary shit I went
through.”
“Do we have to go through each thing we were put through?” Teri said, her eyes
widening, “I mean I had a few things happen to me and I’d rather not relive all
of them.”
Laura shrugged. “I have no idea but I’m guessing it’s the first thing you went
through.”
They all fell silent again, each in their own thoughts of how they would have to
go through the horror they had already been in. The sound of someone running
down the stairs broke through their thoughts. They looked up to see AJ coming
down them, a scared look in his eyes and relief at seeing them their.
“AJ! You’re back!” Emily ran over to him and gave him a hug.
“I never....should have....left.....you guys,” AJ said, trying to catch his breath, “I
played my part of ‘The Game’ finally.”
AJ then shuddered and quickly re-counted everything to the others. Kevin shook
his head slowly, “God, I cannot wait until this thing is all over with.”
“Unfortunately though, you’re going to have to through all that again AJ,” Nick
pointed out.
“WHAT?!” AJ yelled out.
“It’s the only way to defeat ‘The Game,’” Laura stated and she then told AJ what
to do.
AJ quickly nodded. “I’ll try but I’m gonna hate going through that again. By the
way, where’s JC?”
Justin sighed and said, “Ms. Calhoun came by after you left and she told JC it
was his turn and he disappeared.”
“Fucking bitch,” AJ muttered.
......................
JC sat in the dark in total silence and trembling with fear. Slowly he opened his
eyes and looked up, straining to see. For a moment, only black reached out to
him and then a bright light suddenly flashed into his eyes. JC squinted his eyes
and yelled out, “Who’s there?”
“No need to sound scared, nothing can happen to you now,” a cold voice
answered him back.
JC carefully stood up, his eyes adjusting to the light. His eyes narrowed with
anger when he saw it was Ms. Calhoun standing before him, her hands on her
hips and a look of hatred in her own eyes.
“What do you want?” JC spat out.
“Nothing,” Ms. Calhoun replied in the same tone, “just to tell you that you have
defeated ‘The Game,’ happy?”
JC stared at her in disbelief. He had defeated ‘The Game’? He had to go and tell
everyone else now! He looked at Ms. Calhoun and said, “Then I guess you have
to let me go.”
Ms. Calhoun sneered at him and then a thought came to her. She smiled at JC
with a smug look. “Yes, I guess I have to but....I know you will be telling all of
your friends how to defeat ‘The Game’ so I have to keep you from it. That one
bitch went and told them already but I don’t need another one to boost their
confidence even more.”
JC watched her nervously, knowing she was going to do something to him. Ms.
Calhoun then continued, “So...I’m going to prevent you from talking!” A smile
went across her face, an ugly smile that made JC sick.
Shocked by what she had said, JC yelled out, “WHA...”
JC grabbed his throat when nothing but air came out. He stared at Ms. Calhoun
wildly while she just laughed at him. “Told you I’d keep you from talking. Have
fun trying to tell your friends how to defeat ‘The Game’ now.”
She then disappeared and JC had the feeling of being moved some place else
before he passed out.
