Everyone sat in the entrance area, anxiously waiting for JC to show up. They prayed with all of their might that he had defeated ‘The Game’ somehow. Then they heard footsteps behind them and they all looked, hoping it was JC.

Their looks turned to disgust when they saw it was only Ms. Calhoun, again. She had a happy look on her face and it scared them all.

“What do you want now?” Lance said angrily.

Ms. Calhoun gave him a dark look before replying. “Oh, just to see how all of you are still holding up.”

“Why the hell do you care?” Howie muttered.

Ms. Calhoun spun around and glared at him. “Watch your mouth. You haven’t defeated ‘The Game’ yet. I could still do many things to you!”

Howie fell silent but glared back at her. Ms. Calhoun then noticed AJ and said, “Ahh, I see you’ve decided to join everyone again. Did you have fun with your little part?”

AJ glowered at her but said nothing while Ms. Calhoun just laughed at him. “Well, I’ll just get this over with. Your other friend, JC, I believe, should be returning to you shortly. He has a little problem now though.” She snickered when she said this and they all glanced at each other nervously when she mentioned JC.

“Also, we have two more people here that have to play ‘The Game’, I thought I’d help a little to get you moving.” Ms. Calhoun turned on Lance and Kevin who stared at her with wide eyes. “Bye bye!”

Out of now where, Lance and Kevin disappeared. “You damn bitch,” Laura yelled out.

“Why are you all worried, they should know how to defeat ‘The Game’ since you did tell them I know,” Ms. Calhoun now glared at Laura.

“Have fun. I’d like to see all of you defeat ‘The Game’ is oh...let’s say...three and a half hours.” Ms. Calhoun then disappeared, leaving a silent group behind.

......................

Lance stood shaking slightly after being put on solid ground again. Blackness lay all around him and the silence pressed in on him. Even though he couldn’t see anything, Lance kept darting his eyes around, waiting for something to pop up.

“Why am I here all of a sudden?” he questioned to himself, “and what is here.”

As if to answer him, a breeze went by him and a light flicked on then off. Another light flicked on then off again. A few more lights did the same thing until Lance was surrounded by a bunch of strobe lights. They flicked on and off rapidly. Lance started to get a headache from the constant pulsing of the lights.

“Ughh....I hate strobe lights sometimes,” he muttered, “and this is one of those times.”

Lance stood there, unsure of what to do now. The lights kept flickering, showing the room and giving him a slight perspective of it. It was a very long and wide room from what he could tell and it seemed mostly empty except Lance thought he saw some chairs and maybe a couple doors leading out of the room.

While Lance was staring around the room, he suddenly noticed a shadow at the end of the room across from him. Lance gasped and looked again, the figure was now gone. “Damn these lights, they’re playing tricks on my eyes.”

Lance started to walk forward and over to the left towards one of the doors. He stared nervously around the room and again he saw the same figure, this time standing a little bit closer and more towards the right of the room. The figure stood silently and very still. Lance blinked and the figure was again gone. The strobe lights started to flick even faster and as Lance inched along the wall he continued to stare towards the other side of the room. Just when Lance’s hand hit the doorknob, the figure appeared again, right in front of him. The lights flicked off of it and Lance stared at it in horror.

The figure was incredibly tall and stood over Lance, intimidating him. Lance shrunk back against the door and yelled, “What are you?”

The lights strobed faster and the figure said nothing. Lance blinked and, like all times before, the figure was gone. He shook his head and stared again, his green eyes wide with fear. “What is going on in this room?”

Lance then felt a presence next to him. The next thing he knew and large hand was around his neck and the figure that had been around the whole room was picking him up into the air. Lance gasped and started to desperately try and free himself. He beat his arms against the thing but it never budged. Lance started choking from lack of air.

“Time to die and lose ‘The Game’,” the thing whispered.

Lance trembled and fought even harder but knowing the whole time he was going to lose. The figure finally dropped Lance to the ground and he fell hard. He rolled over, breathing hard. Lance desperately began to think of a way to get out of this. That’s when he remembered what Laura had said.

Just as the thing advanced on Lance again, ready to kill him this time. Lance whirled around and yelled in it’s face. “I don’t believe you! You can’t kill me cause you’re not REAL!!!”

The figure stepped back in shock and surprise, the lights flickered even faster making Lance dizzy. The figure went forward once more, reaching out towards Lance.

“You’re not real!!!!!” Lance screamed even louder.

The figure before him gave a horrible shriek that filled the entire room. The lights flickered faster then ever. Lance covered his ears from the noise and shut his eyes to the lights.

The figure gave once last scream and then the strobe lights all made a popping noise and everything went silent and still.
