Howie, Chris, and Joey didn’t even pause to see what was happening behind
them, they just kept running. The hoped to find everyone else eventually. The
hallway wound around so much it almost made them dizzy and they were
extremely tired from everything that had happened.
The three came to a halt suddenly and looked in front of them, not liking what
they saw. The hallway split off into two directions, both ways looked dark and
creepy.
“Great, I hate when I come to a fork in the road!” Chris yelled, upset.
“Oh shut up,” Joey said harshly, “if we wanna get out of this we have to quit
complaining.”
Chris shut up but he glared at Joey any ways. Howie was standing in the center
of where the two halls met, trying to figure out which way to go. He looked
down both halls carefully before finally turning to Joey and Chris who were
looking at each other angrily.
“If we want to get anywhere, I’d suggest that you two stop fighting,” Howie told
them.
They took their eyes of each other and turned to Howie, waiting for him to tell
them which way they should go.
“I’m thinking that we should go to the right. I believe that room we were just in
was the center of this whole place and to get back to the front we should go to
the right.”
Joey nodded. “That sounds logical. I’m with ya there.”
“Yup, me too,” Chris quickly agreed.
With that said, the three of them started to go down the hall, hoping and
praying that this truly was the way to go to find everyone else.
..............................
AJ sat on the second step of the stairs staring at all his friends around him. He
couldn’t believe none of them were making an effort to go and look for Howie,
Chris, Joey, and Laura. He sat there for about another five minutes before he
had finally had enough.
Abruptly, AJ stood up and said, “I can’t believe you people! You’re just sitting
here while four of our friends may be in danger or even dead! I don’t care what
you say but I’m going to go look for them.”
With that, AJ ran up the stairs to the second floor to go into the hall that he and
Joey had gone into before. The others watched AJ in shock, not able to say or
do anything at first.
Finally Nick yelled up to him, “Are you insane? You’ll never come back either!!!”
AJ didn’t answer though, he was already out of earshot. Kevin sighed and turned
away. There was too much to this place for all of them to take and they were all
stressed out. He actually could not blame AJ for running off.
Just then, the clock started chiming again. It was now 4 AM. There time in
playing ‘The Game’ was almost over but they hadn’t defeated it yet.
“The sun will be coming up soon,” Brian said quietly.
They all shuddered at that comment because time was running out for them.
“At least we have until it’s fully in the sky,” Justin pointed out, “which is around
10 AM I think.”
“Only six more hours then,” Emily said, not sounding happy at all.
The group settled into silence, all lost within their own thoughts of how they may
never escape and defeat ‘The Game.’ While they were sitting there, they heard
the sound of footsteps coming towards them. They looked up and stared in
shock as Howie, Chris, and Joey entered the room and came up to them.
“Oh my God, where have you guys been?” JC said in surprise.
“Ummm....we have been through a lot,” Howie responded.
Everyone was happy to see them until Teri finally remembered AJ. “Oh God, I
just remembered. AJ! He went to look for you guys!”
“What?!” Chris exclaimed.
“Yeah,” Lance said, “he was tired of us just sitting here and waiting for you guys
to show up so he went to go look on the second floor.”
“The same floor where I disappeared suddenly,” Joey muttered.
“Laura’s gone too,” Nick brought up, “she...fell through the floor.”
“Wow, this just keeps getting better and better,” Chris commented sarcastically.
“Well, why don’t we go get AJ,” Emily suggested.
Brian shook his head before saying, “I have a feeling it’s his turn to play ‘The
Game.’”
................................
AJ was walking slowly down the hall that him and Joey had entered before. It
looked just the same as before, the candles had been relit along the walls. No
noise was coming from anywhere and it creeped him out a little.
“Maybe I was stupid to go off on my own,” AJ mumbled under his breath, “with
my luck they all came back right after I left.”
AJ decided at that point to turn around and go back, and admit he was wrong, a
hard task for him. Just as he started to turn a blue flash came from the opposite
way he wanted to go. AJ stared and another blue flash, bigger this time, went of
again.
“What the hell is that?” he thought.
Unsure but extremely curious, he started to walk down the hall towards the
flashes. They were coming more frequently now and got brighter and brighter.
As AJ got closer he noticed it looked like blue lightning.
Finally AJ stopped a few feet from the area it was coming from. The blue lights
flashed and hit the ground and the walls near it, burning holes through whatever
it hit. AJ backed away slightly and kept looking at it.
When he’d had enough and found out it wasn’t anything really horrible, he
turned around and started to go back down the hall. Just then, a huge flash of
the blue lightning came and hit AJ square in the back.
AJ stumbled and hit the ground hard. Blackness filled his vision and he managed
to say, “I guess it’s my turn.” AJ then went unconscious.
