Pargraphs, Breaks, Alignment, and Block Quotes

In this section we will discuss with you the basics of creating html paragraphs, line breaks, aligning your text or images, and creating block quotes. First there is the paragraphs, in html a paragraph looks different than a paragraph you see in a book. It doesn't necassarily have an idented line. It is simply a skiped line between your text. Paragraph tags are used to seperate information from each other. Like a paper you write for English you want your site to look as neat and clean as possible. Using a paragraph tag to seperate information can be very helpful in this. To use a paragraph break all you do is <P> </P> between the information you want seperated. So it would look like this:
You have some information her talking about whatever you wish to and then

You switch topics and need to create a clean neat break between the two.

Line Breaks are like paragraph breaks without the skiped line. The aren't as neat as paragraph breaks but they will still seperate your information. Breaks are often used to get things to go right under each other like images or words.
Example:
Bob
Suzy
Daron
Katie
See the difference between the two breaks? Good then let us move on to alignments and how to align the information that appears on your site. For text you will use the codes
<P align="right">
<P align="left">
<P align="center"> (on the center one u can also use <center> , </center>)
All the P align codes are followed by </P> after your information you want aligned. I will show you how each looks.

This is to the right

This is to the left

This is to the center with the P code

This is to the center with the <center> </center> code

See how fun that can be. Go ahead and play with that. Just remember that for your website to be at its best it should be easy to read and follow.

Now for Block Quotes. Block Quotes are probly my favorite item. I use them all the time and find them very helpful when doing outlines or poetry. It can be used for all kinds of things as you will see when I show you just what a block quote is. A block quote is an idented section of information. It can be one word or many sentences. And you can put a block quote inside a block quote to creat an outline look. Okay I know that can sound a bit confusing so let me show you what I mean. First off the code you will use will be <blockquote> information you want indented </blockquote>
This small paragraph is idented and seperated from the rest of the information by the use of a block quote. Do you see how you could use it for making certain things stand out or seperating them? Now let me show you how you can still indent even more by puting another block quote code before closing off the last one.
See how this is under the text above it? You create this look by using this type of coding
<blockquote> information part one here <blockquote> information part two here <blockquote> information part three here </blockquote> </blockquote> </blockquote> You have to make sure you close off ALL the block quotes you use at the end!
Well now that you have learned how to make html paragraphs, how to use line breaks, how to align your text, and how to use the block quote you can really get going.
