NEWSLETTER THE GREEK ISLANDS - NIEUWSBRIEF DE GRIEKSE EILANDEN
Hello everybody,
I start this newsletter already in the beginning of July and so far it hasn't been much special for temperatures. This week I received a holiday parcel with beachtowels and such, a hammock was delivered to my house and last but not least an airconditioning. I was wondering if I was still going to need it this summer, but in the meanwhile there have been a few days on which I could try it out.
Also some of the people are starting to return from their holidays and some of them have been so nice to send me their pictures, like for instance Rita Woldring who visited Naxos and Antiparos.
The beautiful pictures on top of this newsletter are made by her.
Also pictures of Kos have been added to the website, with thanks to Ellen (pictures above) and new are pictures of Sifnos and Milos by Liesbeth (pictures down below). Many more updates will follow after my holiday in October, when I leave for Crete for a couple of weeks. The schedule is more or less set and some hotels have been booked already. We start and we end in Agia pelagia because it is such a lovely village and because it is convieniantly place to visit other parts of the island, and in between we go west and we go east, and we will for instance stay a couple of days in the Apokoronas. As usual I will make lots of pictures and visit new and old places. I've got a couple of ideas for the website, like the start of a restaurant guide for Crete. I have already made a special page for people that are looking for naturist beaches on the island (because an awful lot of people do!), with pictures and descriptions of them. Officially there is only one nudist beach, but unofficially there are many more.
the extreme bush fires in Greece cannot have escaped anybodies attention. I hope that they manage to put them out quickly. Many people are affected by them, and I am very sad for all the people in Greece.
