      The projects of motorways were started in Pakistan started in 1998 and many of it projects are completed and some of them are under construction.

MOTOR WAY PROJECTS

The following are the main motorway projects of Pakistan.

Islamabad—Peshawar (155km)
Islamabad—Lahore (335km)
Pindi Bhitian—Faislabad (52km)
Faislabad—Multan (243km)
Multan—D.G.Khan (85km)
D.G.Khan—Kakkar (467km)
Kakkar—Karachi (341km)
Gawadar—Retodero (895km)
Karachi—Hyderabad (136km)


ISLAMABAD-PESHAWAR 155KM:-

This 154.54 kms long motorway takes off from the end point of the Lahore-Islamabad motorway (M2), passing through the districts of pawalpindi, Attock, Hazara, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda and Peshawar. Work started on 17th January 1998 and expected to be completed in 2001, with the cost of Rs. 24,524,150 Millions.

LAHORE-ISLAMABAD MOTORWAYL: -

335 Kms long motorway was completed on 26 November 1997. this passes through Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock and Rawalpindi. The total cost is Rs. 35billion without interest cost.

PINDI BHATTIAN-FAISALABAD MOTORWAY: -

This, 52.5Kms long is being constructed by Pakistani contractor consortium. It crosses Chiniot Jhumra Road, Chiniot Salar Wala Road and Pindi bhittian, Sukheki, Sheikhupura Road and ends near Pindi Bhittian on M2 Motorway. Towards the south end M3 will connect future M4 (Faislabed, Multan. 243 Kms). This will be completed in 2001.
