*~*~*~*~*~*~* *~*~*~*~*~*~* A sigh rose from Angelica’s limp body as she gently rubbed the bulge where her formally small petite stomach was replaced by a now protruding abdomen. ’How did it come to this?’ she thought to herself while slightly glancing down to her now noticeable pregnancy. ’I know how, he did this to me, my best friend in the world. Why did he think he had to hurt me to get what he wanted, granted I would be shocked that he had felt the same love I once had for him but I would have at least given us a chance. He raped me of my innocence and my trust, now I have to pay for his misjudgment. Now I can’t even turn to my parents for help they think of me as a disgrace to the family. He has ruined me but I will not give up this child, no way will I give you up sweet child, this isn’t your fault, I will deal with this the best way I know how.’ she again thought to herself as she tried to calm down the baby that had been kicking nonstop for the last hour and at the same time she tried to think of a way to raise the baby right. She lived in Memphis, TN after she moved from Lexington where her parents lived, they didn’t know where she was and she was only 17 when she left, right after she was raped. While working there she met Shay and they became great friends. The phone ringing brought Angelica out of her thoughts. A=Angelica S=Shay A: Hello S: Hey chic! A: I know I can’t stop you so are you going to pick me up? S: In about 15 minutes I’m about to leave here. A: Ok bye S: Bye See ya in a few! Angelica hung up the phone and got up as quick as a 7 month pregnant woman could. She checked her make-up and waited for her best friend to come get her. Fifteen minutes later she heard Shay honking and she turned out the lights and walked out the door locking it as she passed. She gently got into Shay’s dark blue Mercedes and they left to go to the mall and as they drove the few blocks to mall all the while Angelica thinking about what to get for Shay’s birthday the next week. They pulled into a parking spot very close to the center entrance to the mall and proceeded to walk in. They saw a store called Baby Heaven and quickly went in. “Shay, I don’t want you to go overboard!” Angelica said while Shay began looking at expensive baby beds, strollers, and car seats. “Well since I will baby sit a lot I will need some stuff so we don’t have to keep switching seats and stuff, like I need a car seat for my car and also I will need a play pen, a stroller, a baby bed, and stuff like that. Oh and do you have any of that stuff?” Shay said while looking over prices. “Well I got a stroller from a yard sale the other day.........” She began but was getting an evil eye., “What?” “I am not letting you use that stroller! You don’t know what those people have done to it! I am going to buy you some necessary things and you aren’t going to say anything about it!” She said matter of factly. “But Shay,” Angelica began but Shay interrupted her. “No ifs, ands, or buts!” Shay said and walked to the front of the store to get some help looking for the best things to buy. About 2 hours later they left with 5 unisex outfits (since she didn’t know the sex) and 2 strollers, 2 car seats, 2 baby beds and a play pen that were being delivered to Shay’s house the next day.
