WIRING A 6-WIRE OLD BIOS DREAMCAST MOD CHIP

WIRING THE CHIP

If your DreamChip is pre-wired click HERE to bypass the chip wiring section.

Step 1
Locate the pre-cut, pre-stripped, pre-tinned, color coded wires from your package.

4 included color wires

Step 2
Connect the 4 color coded wires to the top and bottom two corners of the chip using the included solder. See below for the Red and Black pins. It's easy because all you do is solder to the two corners. You might find it easier to wire the chip up from the backside as the pins loop around the back. Be careful not to bridge any of the pins when soldering. See below for wiring diagrams.

The black and red points might be a bit more difficult to solder. If your not confident with soldering the Black and Red points we suggest that that you bend back both pins with a small screwdriver. You can use a screwdriver from an eyeglass repair kit pictured below. Gently bend back the points. You might want to practice your pin bending skills with other points not used. Bend back ONLY once to keep the pin strong. Below is a picture of the front of the chip after we bent back the red and black points. The red point is the 4th point from the LEFT bottom front of the chip. The Black point is the 8th point from the LEFT bottom front of the chip.

Below is a picture of the rear of the chip after we bent back the red and black points. The red point is the 4th point from the RIGHT bottom of the chip. The Black point is the 8th point from the RIGHT bottom of the chip.

Now soldering the black and red points are much simpler. You do NOT have to bend back the pins if your good at soldering.
