BREAKING NEWS

21FEB07: Honoring for Lee Mowery, Grand Chaplain. Several members of the chapter attended this event at Turf Valley Lodge on Sunday. It was a beautiful affair, full of good wishes for the appointed grand officers, excellent food, lovely decorations, and of course - wonderderful friends. We presented Lee with the chapter's gifts - I'm hoping Lee will bring the picture in so everyone can see what the final product ended up looking like (silly me didn't take a picture of it). Sister Betty was the representative to the comittee for the Honoring, and it really was lovely. We each received a CD with a selection of music chosen by the family, and as I mentioned, the place looked fabulous. The following Brothers and Sisters attended: Phyllis Mowery, Jesse A Brogan, Jesse C Brogan, Charlene Brogan, Betty Thompson, Roy Thompson, and Phyllis Grainger. Our Duputy, Sister Karen Janczy was also there. We had a delightful time, and I will post pictures when I get a chance to upload them from the camera.

21FEB07: Upcoming events. The Dinner Dance to raise funds for the Fisher Houses (that support our military and their families when they're hospitalized) is 30MAR. Tickets are $45 before the 15th of Mar, and $50 afterwards. I have a table started for Peace Chapter, and would love to have two. Please consider supporting this worty cause, and coming out for a night of dinner and dancing! Also, practice for installation is Wed, 28FEB.

15FEB07, 1138: We will not have a meeting tonite. The parking lot is still a sheet of ice about an inch thick. Also, much of Bowie is without power - Betty said that she didn't see lights on in any of the houses when she went by to check the parking lot, so I'm assuming the Chapter doesn't have power either. Also, I understand that many of our members are also without power - I wish all of a quick return of your power, and we will see you at the next meeting.

15FEB07: ALSO -- since we won't have the meeting tonight to remind everyone -- Please set aside the WED nite before our next schduled meeting for Installation Practice. We will be having closed installation at our first meeting in MAR (01MAR), but the WED nite before is actually 28FEB.
