Charlene and Cathy's work for a fun afternoon at the Mad Hatter's Tea turned out beautifully. The concept was unique, fun, and colorful.
I (Alice, in WANDERland) happened upon a fanciful tea... at which time I was cautioned appropriately to look about carefully, for one never knows what one might find at such an affair. And lo! there were white rabbits everywhere!! A count of them revealed there to be more than I had. But no one got the bunny at the salad bowl (who would've thought to look amongst the greens!!)
We had cards to identify where we were to sit (Alice, of course, got the Queen of Hearts ... a tribute to my nature, or just luck, I must wonder?) The Cheshire Cat overlooked all.
We had a delightful lunch, with yummies of all sorts. The Worthy Patron presided over bottles of all sizes and colors (I did not choose the one that said "drink me" - I've seen how that ended up). Hmmm, and now that I'm thinking of it, maybe I should have. SMALL isn't a bad thing.
After lunch, I stepped into true Alice garb (my white pinafore had served as a sweater before I knew its real purpose for the day). I sat with the guests and opened the gifts they'd brought. And the flowers and rainbows were plenty. We had some fun with what some of them meant (Charlene's weird clock probably got the best laugh - more so from the fact that upside down it read 5 til 8 -- a reminder that that is NOT the time the Worthy Matron is supposed to arrive).
I thank each and every one of you for a fun day, and for your thoughtful gifts. I will put them to use throughout the year. Except the clock - that might well be a lost cause!!
