Woodgate returns for Rovers clash

Jonathan Woodgate will take the place of either Titus Bramble or Andy
O'Brien for Newcastle's clash with Blackburn at St James' Park.

Woodgate was ineligible to play in Wednesday's Champions League
defeat against Barcelona at but is certain to be picked for the visit
of Rovers. But it is a toss-up between Bramble and O'Brien for who
makes way.

Bramble has kept his place alongside Woodgate in United's last two
league games but made a key mistake against Barca which gifted
Patrick Kluivert a goal.

So O'Brien does have realistic hopes of being given the nod to
partner Woodgate this time around.

Elsewhere, Newcastle are likely to make one change at most from
Wednesday night's line-up.

Aaron Hughes is pushing for a recall at right-back at the expense of
Andy Griffin. Gary Speed is still struggling with the groin injury he
suffered at Charlton last Saturday, meaning Jermaine Jenas will
partner Kieron Dyer in central midfield and Nolberto Solano will keep
his place on the right wing.

Newcastle (probable): Given, Griffin/Hughes, Bramble/O'Brien,
Woodgate, Bernard, Solano, Dyer, Jenas, Robert, Shearer, Bellamy.
