Woody "robbed" by
FA panel
UNITED defender
Jonathan Woodgate has had his only goal of the season
so far - his crashing header against Chelsea - wiped out by the FA.
Woodgate emerged from nowhere to climb with Chelsea defender William
Gallas and head home right on the half hour mark to put Leeds on
their way to victory, but that memory will now be soured for the
England defender with the news that the FA's Dubious Goal's Committee
has declared it an own goal and awarded it to Gallas instead.
On closer inspection the ball does certainly hit Gallas before flying
into the back of the net, but it's still hard on the United defender
who has been in inspired form recently.
Meanwhile, Danny Mills booking against Manchester City on Saturday
was the defender's fifth booking of the season.
It means he will now serve a one match suspension, ruling him out of
United's FA Cup tie at Gillingham next Saturday.
