Woody bid
Blackburn are
reported to have made a £14m bid for Jon Woodgate.
In something of an about turn of events Jon Woodgate could be away from Leeds
whilst Lee Bowyer might yet stay.
Graeme Souness is known to be an admirer of the England centre-back and needs to
strengthen his defence. Despite the troubles Woodgate has brought the club David
O'Leary would not want the youngster to
go, but in the event that they decided to offload one of the best players in the
country then Juventus is a more likely destination.
The lack of any bid for Lee Bowyer and perhaps the realisation that he can just
sit out his contract if he wants seems to have persuaded Peter Ridsdale to make
a few conciliatory remarks about sorting the problems out, but Bowyer might just
feel he is too close to a big
pile of cash to change his position now.
