No Inter-est for
Woody
LEEDS United will
knock back any offers for Jonathan Woodgate from
Inter Milan, or any other top clubs chasing the England star.
Strong speculation this week claimed Inter Milan were lining up a bid
for the 22-year-old defender when the transfer window re-opens in
January, but any offer will be met with a polite refusal with the
Italian giants told to look elsewhere.
Terry Venables has made it clear that Leeds are looking to hang on to
their exciting crop of promising young players, with Harry Kewell,
Paul Robinson and Alan Smith also fitting into that category.
All four players have come up through the Leeds United Academy, and
to have all four players previously linked with moves to the biggest
clubs in the world is another sign of just how successful the youth
policy has proved at Elland Road over the past few years.
