Sol chops out Woody

SOL CAMPBELL is poised for an England return as Sven Goran Eriksson
makes just one change for tomorrow's European Championship qualifier
with Macedonia.

Arsenal defender Campbell, who missed the 2-1 win in Slovakia with a
stomach bug, will replace Jonathan Woodgate and partner Gareth
Southgate in the centre of defence.

While Eriksson will otherwise stick with the men who began the
opening Euro 2004 game, he will stick with the tactical plan which
turned the match around. That means Paul Scholes playing furthest
forward in a midfield diamond behind strikers Michael Owen and Emile
Heskey.

The Manchester United man struggled on the left in Bratislava and
with Macedonia expected to adopt a defensive approach, Eriksson will
look to Ashley Cole to provide width on that side.

Newcastle's injury-plagued Kieron Dyer has been ruled out of
Eriksson's plans.

Dyer, who picked up a back injury in a 13-minute appearance from the
bench in Bratislava, aggravated the problem in training.
