Shimmer's Poems

These are a few of the things that i have
been recently
putting in words on paper.
Some of them are feelings some of them are thoughts.
But a lot of them are emotions.
Hope that you enjoy
a big part of me here.

Life in a Spin

Do you ever feel you were in a spin?
Not knowing where you're going,
Or where you've been.

Looking ahead, looking behind
Sometimes in a daze,
Never knowing what you'll find

Feeling you're lost and all alone
Wondering when the spin will end.
Sometimes its fast sometimes its slow
And when it’s slow,
You catch a glimpse of a friend.

You feel the essence of a touch,
That whirls around you, somewhere
And the feeling of lost begins to fade,
And in the spin, instead of one You are two.

A warm embrace, while in the spin
An aura of peace and gentleness,
You sense someone reaching out to you
And grasping a hold with tenderness.

And as that tender embrace enfolds you,
The whirling spin slows more
Until you see shapes and forms
You once new, or saw before

And all the worries and feeling lost
Begins to fade and flicker
The friend you glimpsed becomes clear
His sweet smile never quivers.

And soon the spin begins to stop,
And you see where you have been.
And gradually, where you are.
It all comes clear the warm embrace,
Of that friend of yours...
Has pulled you through that spin again.

Afterglow

A gentle touch, a warm embrace, soft kisses when we're face to face.
Excitement rises, tender caresses, heart beat races, breath catches
Passion fires in our eyes, desire overtakes us, bodies touch,
flesh burns, beads of moisture wets us. Rainbows, fireworks,
stars, shivers of delight.. Our love expressed, our passion released
wrapped in each others arms...touch of the hair, lips brush the
forehead, soft content sighs, catchin your breath..encompassed in.....
afterglow.

Friend in A Jar

I found a jar, just sitting there
A jar that said "AFriend*
Looked in the jar, looked through the glass
Held it up to the light
But couldn't make out,
What was hideing inside.

I pushed and pulled, twisting at the lid
But couldn't make it budge
Excited and anxious, to discover within
I looked for something to help

I found a rock, just on the ground
and held it over the jar
I looked at the jar that said *A Friend*
And just hd to know who it was
I let that rock come down hard
and the jar split open wide.

I feel back startled and full of awe,
As the contents burst all about
I saw feelings and dreams, I saw laughter and tears,
I saw scenes of a life, simply amazeing me

But then I saw emotions of sorrow and pain
And parts of a friend, I could never obtain.
Things that didn't make sense
Or things that didn't work right.
All a jumble and swirled together
I felt the feelings of this friend
The friend I found in a jar
And I sat and cried, looking at the jar
The jar I broke open wide
And saw how I had shattered my friend
Taking him from his jar.
