No sooner had Laura left Liz's dressing room to find Luke, when there was
another knock at the door.

"Jeez, It's like Grand Central Station," said Liz hiking up her long gown and
walking over to the door.

She opened it, and without hesitation - shut it when she realized who it was.
"Lucky!" she screamed. "What are you doing here? I told you it's bad luck to
see the bride before the wedding!"

"Oh come on," began Lucky with one arm leaned against his side of the door.
"You don't actually believe in all that superstition stuff do you?"

"No, answered Liz, her back to the door."But, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I
mean it Lucky....don't come in here, " she continued, trying her best to sound
stern.

"Wow! We're not even married yet and already you're bossing me around," joked
Lucky.

"I'm sorry," said Liz.

"It's ok honey, I was just joking."

Suddenly both sides of the thick wooden door became silent, each of them
trying desperately to come up with some profound thing to say. Something that
would carry them down the aisle. Something they'd remember forever. Something
that would make the other laugh.

Liz was the first to break the silence.

"Lucky."
"Yes, Elizabeth."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Do you remember the night on the pier when you told me that you'd wanted to
kiss me a hundred times?"

Lucky shifted his weight against the door and laughed. "Yeah, I like to refer
to that as my most embarassing moment," he responded.

Laughter came from the other side of the door as well.

"Well, when I got home that night, I made a promise to myself. I promised
myself that someday you'd get that wish...and I'd get it too....And you
probably know by now that I have succeeded in reaching that goal."

Both Liz and Lucky cracked up.

"But what you may not realize is that YOU made that possible. You made it
possible for me to love again when I thought I never could be loved or give
love - "

"Elizabeth you did all by yourself," Lucky interrupted. "You are so strong,
and so determined, and so.....stubborn."

Once again the couple giggled in unison.

"You know Elizabeth...you blew into my life like a whirlwind. I knew from the
moment I met you that you were gonna change my life somehow. I didn't know
how...I didn't even know If I'd like it...or you for that matter. BUT
now...Elizabeth I thank God for that night outside Kelly's everyday.

Lucky and Liz both became silent again. Liz absentmindedly drawing hearts with
her finger on one side of the door, while Lucky closed his eyes and pressed
his forehead against the other.

Lucky glanced at his watch. "I'll see you in 20 minutes," he said backing away
from the door.

"I'll see you," Liz returned simply.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5 minutes later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey Lizzie - or should I call you 'gorgeous', " said Luke, taking in the
view. "My wife told me that you requested the honor of my presence. What's up
sweetheart?"
"Luke I have something to ask you," said Elizabeth biting her lower lip.
"Would you...do you...I mean, would you mind giving me away - you
know...walking me down the aisle?"
"Would I mind?" Luke asked in amazement. "Elizabeth my dear, I'd consider it
an honor."
Liz smiled widely. "Thank you."
"No, thankyou," returned Luke. "Lizzie you've done so much for me and my
family, this is the least I could do for you."
"Huh?" asked Liz not understanding exaclty what she had ever done for the
Spencer's.
"Elizabeth. You single - handedly gave us back our son. Laura couldn't do it.
I couldn't do it ...Elizabeth you got him to at least give us a chance, and
for that I will be forever greatful....Now, I believe we have a wedding to get
to."
Luke extended his arm to Liz and she anxiously took it. She would be Mrs.
Lucky Spencer in a matter of minutes.
Chapter 8
Liz shook from head to toe with anticipation as she watched Bobbie and Emily
proceed before her. The white and lavender lillies that LuLu had carried were
lying beautifully along the aisle.
"Alright baby, it's time to walk," said Luke as the wedding march began to
play. He noticed Liz shaking and started to laugh. "Calm down sweetheart. I
wouldn't want you to have a heartattack before you even get to my kid."
Liz laughed nervously and LOUDLY at Luke's comment as they began to walk down
the aisle. Several people in the back rows stared at the two of them, amused
and wondering what could possibly have been so funny.
Liz's smile brightened when she caught sight of Lucky at the alter. Lucky
turned his head to meet her gaze upon hearing her laughter and took a deep
breath at the very same moment. He was literally struck by her beauty. His
eyes shown with love and awe as his angel floated towards him. He'd never seen
anything more beautiful in his life. He was actually glad that Liz had made
him wait to see her, it had made this moment that much more special.
Nikolas slapped his brother on the back. "Breathe man."
Lucky released the breath he hadn't even realized he'd been holding, and
swallowed dryly.
Luke and Liz arrived at the alter. Luke was forced to clear his throat after
the 10 seconds of staring that had gone on between Liz and Lucky.  " I think
he's ready to start now Lucky," said Luke, motioning to the priest.
"Oh," said Lucky, embarrased.
"We are gathered here today, to join this man and this woman in holy
matrimony," began the priest. "Who gives this woman's hand in marriage."
"I do," said Luke, placing Liz's hand in his son's and winking at both of
them.
Lucky and Liz could not keep their eyes off of each other. Their expressions
mirrored each other's; when one grinned, the other would as well. When one
turned serious, so would the other. They loved each other more than words
could express and in a matter of minutes they would be married.
The priest spoke of the sanctity of marriage and gave an entire speech before
realizing that he now had to clear his throat as well to get the couple's
attention. In all his years of marrying people, he had never seen two more in
love. Lucky and Liz turned to him simultaneously, jerking their heads around
as if they had been caught passing notes in class.
"Oh, I was just telling these nice people here that you two have decided to
write your own vows, " said the priest, pointing to everyone gathered in the
church. The church erupted with laughter.
"Oh," said Liz, giggling and looking down at her shoes. "Yes...am I supposed
to go first?" asked Liz, knowing that she had probably missed that
information.
"Yes...that's what I said," answered the priest, grinning from ear to ear.
Liz once again took both of Lucky's hands in her own, as she had done two
years earlier on Valentine's Day in the small chapel. She remembered knowing
even then that this day would come. She looked deep into his baby blue eyes
and swallowed hard against the lump that was already beginning to form in her
throat.
"I could spend eternity looking into those eyes,"she began. "The eyes that
watched over me so many sleepless nights. The eyes that comfort me when I'm
sad. The eyes that look at me as if I were the only woman on the planet. The
eyes that sparkle when the mind behind them is coming up with some great
plan."
Lucky laughed at the last part, as Liz smiled back and continued.
"The eyes that I get lost in sometimes and forget everything else but you. The
eyes that are a window to the most beautiful soul to ever grace this world. I
love you Lucky...so much.  Body, soul, heart and mind....I love you, and I
want to spend the rest of my life proving just how much."
Tears flowed from both of their eyes, as Lucky began saying his vows to Liz.
"Elizabeth - by far the most beautiful name in the English language. The mere
mention of it makes me smile. A stranger could mention your name and be
talking about somebody else completely....and still, my day is brighter. And
then I'm pretty much useless, because I can't think of anything else but you
until I see you. Until I have you in my arms."
Liz smiled through her tears as Lucky continued.
"You're the first thing I think about when I get up in the morning, and the
very last thing I think about before I drift off to dreamland...where you just
happen to show up too." Lucky said laughing. "When something good happens,
you're the fist person I want to tell. When something bad happens, you're the
first person I want to tell....and when I hear something funny....I can't get
to you fast enough, because I'm dieing to hear you laugh. I could listen to
you laugh all day long. It's like music. It's like this song that you just
want to rewind over and over again."
Liz laughed out loud.
"Ah, there it is," beamed Lucky, reaching out and stroking her cheek. "I want
to spend the rest of my life making you laugh. I love you, now and forever
Elizabeth."
Everyone in the church was crying by time the priest told the young couple to
exchange rings. Each of them did so with steady hands.
"You may now kiss the bride," said the priest.
Liz bit her lip and grinned hopelessly at Lucky as he narrowed the space
between them, cupping her face in his hands. Their lips met softly and slowly
melted together, becoming one, fluid thing as the kiss intensified. Lucky
pulled away slightly so that their lips were still touching, and mouthed 'I
love you' against her lips. Liz began kissing him again, her hands exploring
the back of his head.
"Ahem," said the priest.
The two reluctantly pulled away from one another.
"I now present to you, for the first time - Mr. and Mrs. Lucky Spencer."
The entire audience was on it's feet, clapping as the newlyweds headed down
the aisle, beginning their journey together as husband and wife.
