By the time the bride and groom arrived at Cafe Matisse for
their reception,
the restaurant was packed with well wishers. The couple had taken
the better
part of 2 hours getting from the church to the reception. Most of
that time
had been spent making out in the back of the limo.
"You finally made it," said Laura as she ran over to
embrace the happy couple.
Their flushed faces, all the evidence Luke and Laura needed to
start laughing.
"Well, let's eat!" said Lucky as he pulled Liz over to
their table. They were
both famished and dieing to get away from the "Luke and
Laura staring team".
Halfway through the dinner, Nikolas tapped his fork against his
wine glass,
signifying that he had an announcement to make. He stood up when
everyone
became quiet.
"Alright," he began. "I guess as bestman it's time
to toast the bride and
groom."
"Make it good," joked Lucky, sitting a seat away from
him. Liz squeazed his
hand and shushed him. Everyone laughed.
Nikolas grinned back at Lucky and began. "For as long as I
have known
Elizabeth and Lucky...even before they were an actual couple -
they've always
had this "thing" between them. It's kind of hard to
explain, but it's like
they always knew what the other one was thinking without even
haveing to say
it. They've got this amazing connection, that I only hope that I
can have with
someone some day," Nikolas said, glancing at Emily. The look
did not go
unnoticed by Emily.
For the past week, Emily and Nikolas had been secretly
"seeing" each other.
They didn't want anyone to know just yet, almost afraid of
jinxing, whatever
"this" was.
Nikolas continued." I wish them only the best...even though,
Lucky is
obviously getting the better end of this deal." Once again
the entire room
erupted in laughter. "No, seriously...I wish them the best
and I know that
they'll have it, because they belong together...cheers."
Everyone raised their
glasses and drank to the newlyweds.
"Alright you two, get out there and dance," said
Nikolas as music began to
play.
The couple walked out to the dancefloor as the DJ announced that
the next song
was a dedication from the bride to her groom.
"What did you do?" asked Lucky as he looped his arms
around his wife's waist
and pulled her close.
"Just listen to the words," she responded, laying her
head on her husband's
shoulder.
When I first saw you
I already knew
There was something, inside of you.
Something I thought that I would never find.
Angel of Mine.
Lucky smiled and tightened his arms around Liz's waist.
I looked at you, looking at me
Now I know why they say the best things are free.
I'm gonna love you
Boy you are so fine.
Angel of Mine.
Liz turned to face Lucky and kissed the side of his face.
How you've changed my world you'll never know
I'm different now
You helped me grow.
You came into my life
Sent from above.
When I lost all hope
You showed me love.
I'm right here for you
Boy you're right on time.
Angel of Mine.
Suddenly Lucky could not believe his ears. Elizabeth was singing
to him. In
their two years together, she had never sang to him. Sure, he'd
heard her in
the car before, and even the Nurses' Ball, but never had she
actually sung TO
him. She always complained about her voice being to nasally. She
sang softly
in his left ear:
"I never thought I could feel each moment as if it were new.
Every breath that I take, the love that we'll make," she had
changed the word
'we' to 'we'll' and Lucky laughed. "I'll only share it with
you.
When I first saw you
I already knew
There was something
Inside of you
Something I thought that I would never find.
Angel of Mine."
As the song faded Lucky pulled away from Liz and kissed her
softly. "Thank
you," he wispered.
"For what?"
"For sharing that with me. Baby, you've got a beautiful
voice." Lucky said.
"I love you," she said simply, wrapping her arms around
his neck again.

After about the sixth song, the newlyweds broke away from each
other, deciding
that they'd better chat with their guests. Lucky and Liz always
found
themselves on opposite sides of the room, yet each time one of
them would look
up, the other would be smiling back at them through the crowd, or
mouthing 'I
love you.'
Liz had excused herself from chatting with the Quatermaines to
touch up her
makeup in the lady's room. As soon as she walked out, a pair of
strong,
familiar hands encirlced her waist.
"Oh my goodness," Liz giggled as Lucky pulled her
close, placing a tender kiss
on her lips. "You are so crazy, Lucky," she said,
continuing to laugh through
all of his kisses.
Liz and Lucky were in a hallway somewhat secluded from the main
dining room,
but they were still close enough to be spotted by any passerby.
"Lucky! What if someone catches us?" Liz squealed,
trying to squirm out of
Lucky's arms.
He held her by the wrist.
"Elizabeth we're married now. Nobody's gonna "catch
us" doing anything.
Besides, it's our reception we can make out if we want to."
"Oh yeah - you're right," said Liz, narrowing the space
between them again.
"And if anybody says anything, I'll just sing...'It's my
party...I'll make out
if I want to...make out if I want to...make out if I ..."
Lucky silenced his giddy bride with a mind blowing kiss. The only
thing that
stopped the kiss a few moments later was lack of oxygen.
"You ready to get out of here Mrs. Spencer?" Lucky
asked breathlessly.
The sound of her new name was music to her ears. "I'm ready
whenever you are
Mr. Spencer."
Chapter 10
Elizabeth laughed uncontrollably as Lucky fumbled with the
doorknob to their
room at Kelly's.
"Lucky, if you have to...just put me down," sighed Liz
as Lucky desperately
tried to balance his bride in his arms and open the door at the
same time.
"No way Elizabeth....What you think I can't carry my wife
over the threshold
and get into our room at the same time?"
"No, I'm just afraid you are going to drop me!" Liz
exclaimed, giggling.
Lucky and Liz decided that since Kelly's was to be reopened in a
few days and
since they had absolutely no money....that they would take a
"real" honeymoon
later. For now, they were just content on haveing the entire
place to
themselves, even if it was only for a few days.
Suddenly the door was ajar.
"Voila!" cried Lucky in excitement.
Liz increased the space by kicking the door completely open with
one satin
clad foot. As soon as they crossed the door jam, Lucky
slowly let go of Liz
and allowed her to gently slide down the length of his body. He
was taken
aback by what he saw. If not for the thirty of so candles that
lit the room,
it would have been completely dark, and before he even saw them,
the scent of
roses overcame him. There were candles and roses at every turn.
The roses all
of a different color. Lucky could not help but notice that there
were rose
petals scattered all over the bed as well.
Lucky sighed and looked down at his bride who was smiling
lovingly back at
him. "Elizabeth, how did you..."
"I have my ways, " Liz responded playfully.
"Would one of your ways happen to involve a certain maid of
honor leaving our
reception quite early?" Lucky asked his arms snaking around
her waist.
"Yeah, I'm definitley going to have to get Emily a really
good birthday
present this year," Liz answered.
Lucky grinned as Liz quickly took possession of his mouth, her
hands exploring
the back of his head and pressing his lips closer to hers. Lucky
began walking
towards the bed, his hands roaming aimlessly up and down Liz's
back. Liz felt
herself being steered towards the bed and was suddenly struck by
a thought.
"Wait!" she exclaimed.
Lucky immediately pulled away, knowing that he had pushed her too
fast. 'Jeez,
Spencer,' he thought to himself, 'Just because she's your wife
now, doesn't
mean you can jump her anytime you want!'
"I'm so sorry Elizabeth. I - I don't know what I was
thinking," Lucky
stammered. "We really, really don't have to do this if
you're not ready."
Liz gently and efficiently silenced Lucky by placing her fingers
in front of
his lips. "Shh," she began, shaking her head.
"Baby that's not it. I want to
make love to you more than anything. I mean, of course I'm
nervous. Of course
I am, BUT...I want this Lucky. You are my husband and I wouldn't
have married
you today if I didn't trust and love you completley....AND I can
not wait to
show you just how much I love you...I only stopped you because I
have a
surprise for you."
Lucky was once again struck by how much he loved this woman, his
wife. He
slowly bent down and kissed her softly on the lips and let the
kiss linger for
a few moments. Liz looked up into his baby blue eyes. "Give
me five minutes,"
she said retreating into the bathroom.
