To My Sweet Kaylyn Rae:

You were born on July 22nd 1997, its was a dreary day. Mom had gone into the hospital and could not wait to see you. When your dad and I found out I was pregnant we were so very happy and then finding out you were a girl made us even happier, our family was about to be complete. A boy and a girl, little did we know our lives were about to change forever.

On that day they induced labor on me, I was having contractions starting around 10 Am then by 2 PM they were coming on pretty strong, by 4 PM you were just about ready to make your appearance. There was some trouble you did not want to come out and *Dr.Miller hd to use the vacum extractor on your head to pull you down, finally you were out. Everyone was looking at you kind of funny, I did not get to see you right away, they took ou and put you in the cradle bun and were really looking you over. Monica, my nurse was constantly monitoring you, she finally suggested they go and get the neonatal Dr. a * Dr.Smith. You had the peculiar cry. So they went and got him and they came back and wanted to take you to the neonatal ward to see what was going on. They found nothing at the time and brought you back to me. I tried nursing but you did nothing but cry. I knew you were in pain of some kind, I just did not know what. You tried to open your eyes but you could not, they were swollen shut and you were so purple. I could not believe the black and blue marks all over your body. What had happened to my sweet baby girl? They asked if they could take you to the NICU for the night, they wanted to monitor you , I said yes. They knew something was wrong they just were not telling us at this point what.
