                       Pauillac Cru Bourgeois

APPELLATION:                         Pauillac
CLASSIFICATION:                   Cru Bourgeois

AGE OF VINEYARD:                27 years

SURFACE:                                 26 hectares

SOIL:                                          Gravel siliceous

LOCATION:                              Commune of Pauillac

HARVEST:                                 Manually by hand picking
CEPAGE:                                   50% Cabernet Sauvignon,
                                                     5% Cabernet Franc
                                                   45% Merlot

WINE MAKING:

Traditional use of stainless steel fermenting tanks and then put in oak barrels for 12 - 18  months aging. As with many traditional Bordeaux chateaux, egg whites are used for fining.

TASTING NOTES:

Deep, black cherry colour and full of fruit. It has a fleshy structure and generous flavor that is typical of a Pauillac. It is an especially fine selection with lamb and will partner well with all red meat dishes. In a normal year, Chateau Artigues needs 10 years minimum to reach its peak.
