You can't ride them because they are too small, and they are
mainly kept as pets or for showing. But now miniature horses are helping
visually impaired people lead a more normal life. How? Well they are
acting as "Guide Horses".
The idea works in a similar fashion to guide dogs but in situations
where dogs are not suitable, horses can take their place. To find
out more visit www.guidehorse.org
where you can find out how the system works and who it is suitable
for.
Have a good look around and then let us know what you think about
the idea on our 'Careers
& Education' discussion board. |
