The Dion Nash Site has
moved. Please visit the new address:

The moment my future as a devoted New Zealand cricket fan
was sealed was the moment when Dion Nash, in his first game
back after a two-year injury break, was caught out on the
last ball of the ill-fated Gabba match in January
1998.
I may not have begun watching from the beginning of Dions
career, but Ive always felt that I started at a tidy,
significant point.
A year and a half later, despite my utter lack of web design
skills, I decided to make this site as a tribute to Dion Nash,
then at the peak of his career.
I may not have been reporting news and updating this site
for much of Dions career - he played just eight Tests
between the creation of this site and his retirement - but
at least I was able to capture the best of it, the 1999 Test
series in England.
Dion Nash retired on 2 May 2002. A few weeks on, June 20 marks
the "third birthday" of The Dion Nash Site. Of course
there will be no more cricket news, action photos or - happily
- injury reports. In maintaining this site, I am reduced to
- if anything - updating the extensive archives.
I believe that archives are important, however,
and that is why - even though it has, in a sense, outlived
its subject - I am leaving this site online as a tribute to
Dion Nashs cricketing career. So I say, "happy
birthday" to my little website. Ill miss you.
* Lyrics from "Throw Your Arms Around
Me" by the Hunters and Collectors, which was Dion Nashs
chosen batting song during the 2002 VB Series
in Australia.
