FROM GEMS TO OPALS

The following players continued their Australian representation by moving into the senior ranks (the Opals).  It must be noted however, that many great Opals did not get the opportunity to represent Australia at Junior level as there was no junior team.  A good example was Australian Opals Captain, Robyn Maher.  Robyn did not get the opportunity to represent Australia until the age of 19 (still making it into the age for a Junior).  Twenty years on and she was still representing Australia.
