2001 Canadian Championships

With Elvis Stojko not competing and the Canadian Championships this year, there was an empty spot on the top of the podium that was waiting to be filled. Everyone was watching to see who will take Elvis's spot, and the title. Emanuel stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. He skated the programme of his life, and got to wear the gold medal.

Even though Emanuel was only third going into the long programme, (due to missing both axel attempts, but landed the quad toe) he knew that whoever in the top three that would place first in the long programme, would win it all. Emanuel skated beautifully. He did a quad-toe triple-toe, two triple axels etc, etc. Some think that he put his hand down on a triple flip, but he says he didn't. We belive him! Congratulations Emanuel!!!!
