Welcome to the observatory Well Here I go again! Another project site to play with. As a newbie to astronomy, I'll probably use the site to record my progress. At the moment I'm using 8 x 40 binoculars and these are fine as a starting point, to get me familiar with constellations in finer detail. I'm working on getting a telescope, and have my eye on a Tal 2M, a Russian 6 inch Reflector. Rugged with fine optics is the view of many users. There's a couple of Moon pix on the Astro Pix page and these were taken as a spontaneous trial as I was getting nowhere with constellation hopping in bright moonlight. So I took pix of the guilty party. If I can do this, so can you!!! I'll be making jottings here when I can't get a clear sky. Dark & clear skies Beeblebrox
