In sight?

a poem for online friendships
Its amazing how deeply other lives can touch your own from half a world...or more... away. Yet many do not believe that you can really know anyone you have not seen physically. It is true that some have buffalo-ed their way into an alternate existence online for a time, but that can happen in person too. If anything, I think its tougher not to reveal yourself (eventually) when the medium is "only" words...thats the output of your mind/soul. Its positively weird how often we guess correctly about how someone is feeling even when they use the most measured words possible. I believe we must be sending something of ourselves in all those keystrokes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pictures paint a thousand words
of things that can be seen, observed.
Words of text do counterpart,
they reveal the soul, the mind , the heart.
and so between what is seen
and what is shared
and what is dreamed
A once tenuous bond may feel
Amazingly, solidly, close and real
I do not think it is a mere dream
Fashioned of fancy, of thoughts that team
And turn below the conversations spray
I think real insight is given away
in words
in timing
in empathic link
They all come together when we think
Or let our hearts read through the lines
Communication is the cord that binds
us across all time and space
Whether or not we have a face
to tie it to
~~~~~~ Missing Inaction~~~~~~~~

I really miss you

I know full well

But when I see you,
Can my words tell

The feelings that rose when I didnt see
Someone who means so much to me?

Good to See You Too!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Salar grins at the cheerful sight
Of a friend’s name left on all night
Quiet reminder of one whose sage advice
And kindly words are spice to life
I look forward to the next happy chat
When we will maunder this and that
Rivenish and non...for to speak in brief
Your company is a pleasant appertif
the one time when its good to be yellow...
Occasionally we got into rhyming spells in Cyan Chat
I was just rhyming
It was good timing
It's better than miming
The rhymes now are climbing
words nickled and diming
much like coins chiming
~~
I like it when my brain isn't fried
When half my senses haven't gone to hide
and sensible words from my lips will flow
but sadly now, that isn't so.
Departure ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I look upon your name in red
For suddenly our line is dead
And I am left wanting to know
Why suddenly you had to go
Without goodbye
~~
I hope its not a sudden ire
That no missent word inspired fire
Within a friend whose loss I'd rue
I'd hate to think I might hurt you
I'd never try
~~
Its hard to choose all words with care
So many traps strike unaware
Sore points in hearts always abound
And wounds are made without a sound
And then we cry.
~~
I waited for you overlong
Until other friends had urged my calm
Then you came in friendly here
I greeted you with happy cheer
And relieved sigh
~~
Observation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

through the deepening night a small pc in Virginia chuggs and chortles its way through a feast of bits and bytes flowing down through its grey umbilicus on the wall

Salar watches her pc feast thoughtfully

What will be born?

Inspiration and the Setting Sun

My thoughts on the setting of this sun

are that my work is only half begun

and as I watch perfection sprawl

across the skies I feel the call

to watch, to work, to paint, to write,

to share colours of this night
to tell the tale of how its made

to dream of lives formed in its shade

Do we ask where inspiration lies?

I think I see it in heavens eyes
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

but inside family and chores await

and I can expect the work to sate

the energetic ramblings of my mind

and hold my attention for quite some time

once I pass inside my door
I will earthen life explore

Now my family I adore

They're what I'm living for

but its hard to lose all sight

of the dreams I found tonight

Many sunset visions will take flight

before any one will see web light

Ages in Time

The future is a darkened page.

No living hand may write

Further than a line or two,

To see into its night.

The future is a hidden Age

We cannot glimpse whats there

But everything we take with us

Determines whats found there

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She sighs at lost contact
Her friend has gone home
Still joy is you'll be back
And together we'll roam
Over web space that's open
To all who have keys
Stay well and warm, Friend
And my heart you'll please :)
