General History: Ayeka was born as the Crown Princess of the Star Empire of Jurai. She grew up in a controlled, mature environment, where everything was prepared, and she had little to do. Her parents arranged her to be married to her half brother, Yosho, a common practice on Jurai, and especially in royalty, to preserve the lineage. She fell in love with him, though he was not as observant of that. When Ryoko attacked Jurai, Yosho went with her, determined to defeat her. When Yosho never returned to Jurai, Ayeka was quite upset, searching the galaxy with her sister Sasami in order to find him. They stayed in stasis for hundreds of years, until their ships reached the planet which he was on. During our time, Ayeka awoke, her guardians Azaka and Kamidake alerted her to Ryoko's signal. She did battle with the former space pirate, eventually ending up with her sister at Tenchi's house. At first, she was cold to him, and to the other guests, as she felt detached and lonely, unable to adapt to her new situation. She soon did, enjoying many of the freedoms that her royal status previously barred her from. She soon fell in love with Tenchi, but quickly came in contact with Ryoko, who also shared a love for the young man. When Kagato attacked, Ayeka found that Kasuhito, Tenchi's grandfather, was Yosho, and therefore Tenchi was a Juraian prince. As with the others, she became an integral part of the new Masaki household.


Personality: Though harsh, cold, and sometimes sadistic during the early episodes of the OAV, Ayeka realizes how her actions and words effect others, and soon becomes a very kind, loving young girl, quite independent, and even refusing her father's order to return to Jurai. She cares very much for Tenchi, loving him as much as Ryoko does, and hoping someday to be his bride. She cares for the welfare of her sister and the others, helping comfort Sasami after she reveals the secret about her 'death'. Though Ryoko is her rival, occasionally the two get along, showing that despite their differences, the two radically different women are still friends of some sort. Ayeka is very polite, never uttering a vulgarity or doing anything uncivilized, making her a frequent target for Ryoko's antics.


Special Notes: Like Ryoko, she has a very low tolerance for alcohol.
