OBITUARY- ANNA MARY DEGRAW MARS
Warwick Advertiser 7 Jan 1926 Mrs Stephen Mars Ann DeGraw Mars, wife of Stephen
Mars, died at her home in Florida, NY at 2:15 pm January 1st, 1926. She was
in her 79th year, having been born at Greenwood Lake, NY October 10th 1847.
The deceased was married to Stephen Mars at Bellvale, NY Dec 4th, 1872, and
for the past forty-three years has resided at Florida. She was a member of
the Methodist Church and during her active life was an earnest advocate of
the principals of justice and righteousness. For the past ten years Mrs Mars
has suffered from chronic arthritis, being obliged to spend most of the time
in her room. Six months ago she sustained a fractured hip which kept her in
bed till the time of her death. She was a patient and uncomplaining sufferer,
never losing hold of her faith in the underlying principals of her Christian
religion. The deceased is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs Joseph
L. Jacoby, of Newburyport, Mass. and three sons, Andrew of Brooklyn, NY, Stephen
and Jesse, of Florida, NY. Funeral services were held at her late home on
Monday, January 4th. Rev Stanley R Evans officiating. Interment at Warwick,
NY.
