Nagasaki Trip
These are pictures from a trip to Nagasaki that I went on with my whole program.
This is the castle in Shimibara where Christians rebelled and were massacred in the 15th century soon after the Shogun was established as the ruler of Japan.
The Christians had been converted by the Portugese and Spanish missionaries who were expelled soon after the rebellion.
As you might guess, it's a reconstruction -- the original was burnt down.
